Omajination is the best! There is a longer and more in-depth guide from A Fox Song: "The 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘰 Extensive Guide to BABYMETAL (April 1st 2024)". Very recommended.
"Catch me if you can" was my very first BABYMETAL song. This same performance to be precise and the first thing that got my attention was the band and the music. But I became a die-hard fan because of Su's solo songs from that same concert. This is one of their heaviest songs (musically speaking) but also one with the cutest vocals and choreo.
Here is one of Su's three solos that night: "Akatsuki" (Live at Budokan Black Night): ua-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/v-deo.html

Great double reaction! Catch Me If You Can is absolutely amazing, but unfortunately, it succumbed to being "aged out" of their rotation since end of 2017. Fingers crossed they'll bring it back at some point!
Also, if you woulda told me a few years ago that one day, I'll be head banging to 3 mid-teen japanese girls singing about hide and seek, I woulda told you to get off drugs.... little did I know back then haha. You should check out videos of this song at Festivals (especially MetRock 2015). The circle pits is insane lol.

Glad to see you're back with this song and keep enjoying your BM journey.
Highly suggest to watch a full BM updated guide called "The Not So Extensive Guide To BabyMetal" by A Fox Song.
This song is among many BM fans one of the most representative of their kawaii metal sound, is heavy but is cute or kawaii at the same time with so much energy and crazy circle pits and mosh from the crowd, not on this performance but you'll see that in another.
This was live at Budokan Arena 2014 reaching a huge milestone with only 14 and 16 yo, after this they started the World Tour and reaching the Sonisphere Festival.
This time the Kami Band playing in order are: Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on that freaking monster 6-String bass, and Hideki Aoyama on drums. All of them are possessed by the Fox God the moment they step up on the stage, and I'm not even joking.
This mind-blowing beautiful song is about hide & seek tag game, but isn't just any other regular child play, they're playing with an Oni, a mythological japanese creature human flesh eater 👹👀
    This is heavy af.
You can also noticed the punk section, many people reminds it the sound of some of the US rock punk like The Offspring or Green Day, and the heavy part got some Slipknot vibes.
Kami Band intro are rare and only on certain songs but throughout different live performance you'll hear slightly different changes because like i said, not always were the same members and even the same members sometimes change their solo a little bit.
If you want another melting faces intro you should go for:
    - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at this same venue you just saw, is a SuMetal solo and I'm pretty sure you're gonna love it, "Kawaii Metal" got the clip.
Thanks for sharing this and see you next time.🦊🤘🔥

I'll add my vote to you checking The Not So Extensive Guide from April this year as it's more in depth and very informative and also up to date.
Catch Me If You Can is possibly the one from their early career with the biggest contrast between the very heavy music and lighter vocals and it works wonderfully as always.
You definitely should watch the older MVs and live performances which are more raw energy and enthusiasm than the later more polished performances. Both are good but I always like to see them perform the song from around the time it was originally made and I always lean towards the earlier lives due to the more raw feel.
I guess you already have a list of recommendations but I'll add mine anyway
Headbanger Legend of 1997 Apocalypse (2013) (there's a 4k remaster without the sound drops)
Road Of Resistance Live in Japan (official) (2015)
Doki Doki Morning MV as it's where it all began (if you prefer there's a very early live Doki Doki Morning in TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL 2011 Performed 28/08/11)
Megitsune MV as it's a fan favourite and you've already seen a recent live
Whatever you choose I'm sure you won't disappointed.

One thing she forgot to mention when it came to the live performances. The Kami band have a few songs where they are featured with the solo intro's. This song is one....Others include " Yava", "Kagerou", "Metali", "Rondo of Nightmare", " Awadama Fever". And no two solo's are alike as the Kami band has a rotation of guitarist they have used over the years. I personally prefer the Mikio versions. (Usually very discordant sounding). Others enjoy the Leda versions like this video here. And then the Western Kami band have the songs "Kagerou" and "Metali". But honestly...All the guys are amazing players so there is a little bit of everything for every one.

BABYMETAL is the most unique metal experience in the world right now coming from Japan 🇯🇵. Not only their appearances, their style,e and everything that surrounds them visually but they’re an incredible band as well and they’re so passionate about metal, they know everything about the metal music world 🌏 and they’ve created a very special feeling, and experience within the entire metal community. They work extremely hard to create something unique for every community ranging from the young to old. Babymetal may not be everyone's metier but if you don't like fine. Babymetal paves the way for other Japanese 🇯🇵 bands to be recognized worldwide. You may not like them but respect them.

Great reaction. Omajination has made a lot of really good BABYMETAL related content, the short guide being one of the more recent videos.🦊
'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek I've ever heard.
It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre👹 popular in regional festivals and used specifically to frighten children ... and the idea of that probably amuses me a lot more than it really should🤭 ). 🤘
The growling vocals (they are on a backing track) are the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃‍♀🏃‍♀🏃‍♀👹
The Kami Band in order of solos that night they were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus on guitars, BOH on 6 string bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums.
This was their second night (Red Night and Black Night) at the Budokan in Tokyo in March 2014.
The Budokan is a martial arts arena built for the 1964 Olympics and now also one of the most prestigious venues for concerts in Japan (think Carnegie Hall or Madison Square Garden levels of prestige). It is where all Japanese artists aspire to play - not so many ever get to do that.
BABYMETAL became the youngest ever female band to headline there (Su-metal was just 16, Yuimetal and Moametal were both still only 14) and they sold it out 2 nights running as their first album was being or was about to be released.
They returned in 2021 to play 10 more concerts as part of their 10th anniversary celebration.

Starting in the mid 80's I was a DJ for about 15+ years, so I enjoy and appreciate ALL genres of music BUT BABYMETAL is the ONLY music artists that I can say that I LOVE 95% of their songs! The other 5 % which is really just 3 songs out of their now 60+ songs I still do like, but I don't mind skipping on my playlist once in a while (BTW, "The End" with Lil Uzi Vert is NOT one of the 3 songs!). I can't say that about ANY other artists. I'm so use to just liking just 3-4 songs on other people's albums that when I started listening to BABYMETAL, I could not believe how many songs of theirs I loved! Beach Boys, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Earth Wind & Fire, Snoop Dog, Bruno Mars, etc for example .... none of them did what BABYMETAL did for me! I don't even understand Japanese AND I'm far from being a metalhead!🤘🦊🤘

Your soul is only 1/2 sold, do the 40 minute documentary. Now your soul is gone with Catch Me if You Can. The cutest yet heaviest song ever. Yup, you no longer own your own soul. My soul insurance ran out years ago, they now have about 4 of my souls, I kept getting replacements, but they stopped giving me new ones. Heaven was like, oh you listen to BabyMetal, sorry, no more for you, they are worse than Satan. As Heaven hears BabyMetal it is getting emptied and the same with Hell. They all go to Arkadia (Lore) the city in the center of the Metal Galaxy where the light and dark mix. Heaven and Hell was a mistake, all souls are light and dark.

As for lore, good luck, I don't think most people can even grasp it since it's so ridiculously convoluted. Before the guide, I would recommend Doki Doki Morning from Makuhari Messe 2023.
