In my own mind this is a CLASSIC... I guess these camps are temporary. Of course it has been about 30 years since the movie was made. Thanks for doing all this Adam. Still SUPER awesome to see these locations. It was a GREAT movie with a way crazy ending for that time. Definitely a WTF moment for us as kids. lol.
This is one of my all time fav. horror flicks. Then ending is simply awesome . . . Angleas mother makes Joan Crawford (Mommie Dearest) look like Mother Teresa. The ending of this movie is flawless. Thanks for this vid. Great stuff.
Great video. I bring it up among friends, older high school kids told us, everyone saw the movie by 5th grade. Some of us loved it, some of us still do not night fish summit lake.
Thanks Adam, I have always enjoyed your video's of On-Site movie locations. I especially like the one about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre , and Evil Dead locations. Keep up that great work.
Just north of the Adirondack Park, in a little town called Malone. It's an hour north of Lake Placid and 1 1/2 hours south of Montreal. It's the hometown of alt. rocker Bob Mould, former Vice President William Almon Wheeler, and Jamaican Bobsled Team coach Howard Siler. Former Reds pitcher Tom Browning graduated from Malone. Orville Gibson was born the next town over (and is buried here). Almanzo Wilder grew up on a farm just outside of town. Paul ("Joe Millionaire") Hogan also lives here.
Went to camp as a kid and already seen the movie and I couldn't help but look at my counselors which that's the other sequals but these movies always ran through my mind.
You were in my neck of the woods!?!?!?!?! I could have shown you a dozen kick ass abandoned places in the area - railroad stations, factories, churches..... AHHHH
Awesome Video, Adam out of the 5 (and yes i own all 5 even IV which is like only 40 mins lol) Sleep away camp's which one is your fav? and who do you prefer as Angela baker ~ Felissa Rose Or Pamela Springsteen? both brought their own flavor to the role if you ask me.
@adamthewoo Thanks. I appreciate that. I'd love to see you do a video on this particular location. Camp Younts is hard to get to but it's worth it in the end.
Hey Adam, I finally went to summit lake and filmed my own video. I was able to get a bit closer to the beach like you asked, but not right ON the beach. And I borrowed a few of the things that you did in your video like your introduction because I liked the way that you did that. But I added your web address into my end credits to give you some credit since you inspired me to go and make my own video. Hope you like my video!
I know I'm late on this but imagine that garage was not there at 2:26 that home will look exactly like (the amity-ville horror house) from the look of the side with that scary 3rd floor windows and the shap of the home look like it 100%
Great job with the vid, Adam. I actually have never heard of Sleepaway Camp, but it reminds me a bit of Cabin Fever, though THAT movie is so much more bloody, gory and gross. Anyway, it gives me great curiosity to see SleepAway Camp now - lol. Well done! I guess I was WAY off the mark when I mentioned 'Pet Sematary' as one of my guesses - lol.
you should try to get to some massive abandon place to explore those are the best but i can understand it being hard to find time or a new place like that, it would be much appreciated if you could

I think i already watched this movie and it was a vhs tape !!! Did you watch this movie .Adam ??
Ok, will do Adam. Your video was great by the way and I am also into making home videos so I will get some of the same shots that you got plus I'll try to get some more.
Big fan of the movie here and I live about 71 miles away. Never been there and I am thinking about taking a ride out there in a week or so to see the lake and old camp site and take some video myself....even though all the cabins and buildings are now gone, but still want to see it. Since you are from that area and you said that you know all of the spots...is it really all private property now or is some of it still open to the public?
Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 are my all time fave crappy horror movies! I saw Springsteen in NYC and his sister was there (aka ANGELA).. I think I was more excited about her than him
NO ACCENTS HERE! NYC ppl do not represent Upstate NY by any means. An NYC accent up here means you have a fancy boat and no fish, OR you go fishing for a scenic selfie.
Adamthewoo, I just realized something very strange. You and I both posted our filming location videos for the sleepaway camp films on the same day, that's strange. It's even more strange that you and I are the only ones who have actual footage of the camps.
I have watched so many horror movies in my life but the ending of that movie still freaks me out.
What about the curling iron shoved up the girls snatch?
I watched it when I was 5.... still messes me up when I think about it.
Adam Bolin same
SAME HERE, THAT SHE WAS REALLY A HE, AT THE END!!
Adam Bolin The only thing that beats it is the end of Burnt Offerings. A horror movie made in 1976
In my own mind this is a CLASSIC... I guess these camps are temporary. Of course it has been about 30 years since the movie was made. Thanks for doing all this Adam. Still SUPER awesome to see these locations. It was a GREAT movie with a way crazy ending for that time. Definitely a WTF moment for us as kids. lol.
I guess I'll say hello to my nightmares again with that last shot of Angela!
Love to watch Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3 every time it comes on! ANGELA IS THE BEST! 😄😄
"Mommy, is that man filming our house again?"
its pretty cool how they go back to the 1983 sleep away camp movie.
i live in Argyle OMG and i live right near Summit lake!!!
nice, ever check out the locations ?
Chris Bryz ive been, very often. its all private summer residences now. Love the film.
britney pacific. Love it. Our little slice of horror history! I ice fish there a lot.
Damn!!! I wanted to go check it out!! So is it hard to film at this time?
Willow who the fuck are you
I'd like to thank Brad Jones, the Cinema Snob, for first introducing me to this film. Now I feel like I'm a part of the experience!!!
This is one of my all time fav. horror flicks. Then ending is simply awesome . . . Angleas mother makes Joan Crawford (Mommie Dearest) look like Mother Teresa. The ending of this movie is flawless. Thanks for this vid. Great stuff.
Great vlog. Also I love the film it's the greatest 🔪
Really cool of you to show us the locations from the film. Great video!
Great video. I bring it up among friends, older high school kids told us, everyone saw the movie by 5th grade. Some of us loved it, some of us still do not night fish summit lake.
One of my favorite movies, thank you Adam.
I love all the Sleepaway Camp and Return to Sleepaway Camp movies.
Part 2 was better.
I thought part 1 was good
Thanks Adam, I have always enjoyed your video's of On-Site movie locations. I especially like the one about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre , and Evil Dead locations. Keep up that great work.
Another grear video Adam, never seen the film, but have just found the whole film on UA-cam,just sitting back to watch it now.

What species is the snake that slithered out of Kenny.

You were in my neck of the woods!?!?!?!?! I could have shown you a dozen kick ass abandoned places in the area - railroad stations, factories, churches..... AHHHH

@adamthewoo yes. I live about 45 minutes to an hour. Depends on traffic.
Watched it for the first time lastnight. As a horror fan it’s pretty good. Cheesy and the ending is insane
Great video man! Always wondered what the locations looked like today
I just re watched all the sleepaway camp movies the other day. They are all on Netflix
I found this thanks to Jim Campbell! I have been in therapy for years thanks to my mommy.
Angela's house looks like the McAllister house fr Home Alone.
I see this lake all the time. I drive around it for fun. This and our other lake, Cossayuna. Summit is 100x more creepy especially at night.
I ever heard of Sleep away Camp either. Good video Adam.
Awesome videos as always!!
oooop...gonna have to go watch sleepaway camp. i watched it a few weeks ago on netflix! great vid...so much fun! what a great job you do adam...fun!

Camp Younts is hard to get to but it's worth it in the end.
classic video Adam. Pure classic !
I live 10 minutes away from where you filmed this video. I wish I found your videos before you filmed this, I would have showed you around, my friend.
Great movie!

Awesome video!
TIME AND TIME AGAIN!!!!!!!!! Great Job, would love to go on an adventure with you one time, it would be awesome.
Loved this movie
Hey Adam, I finally went to summit lake and filmed my own video. I was able to get a bit closer to the beach like you asked, but not right ON the beach. Good work.

I know I'm late on this but imagine that garage was not there at 2:26 that home will look exactly like (the amity-ville horror house) from the look of the side with that scary 3rd floor windows and the shap of the home look like it 100%
Awesome man, cool to have someone doing this
Great job with the vid, Adam. I actually have never heard of Sleepaway Camp, but it reminds me a bit of Cabin Fever, though THAT movie is so much more bloody, gory and gross. "And you know what happened there...." Yeah, Sarah Silverman showed up :)

Also Adam, I want to see the house. Do you remember where in Glenns Falls it is located?
I had no idea that Angela’s house has Amityville Horror house windows.
Sleep Away Camp was super cheesy but the twist ending was actually pretty good. The sequel really sucked tho. Another great video - thanks Adam!
The building that Andy lives in is used as Elaine's apartment in Seinfeld!
Saweet, thanks for the upload, =). I'm from NY, I think you said, but didn't quite make it out, what part of NY was this filmed?
Argyle, NY @ Summit Lake
Are you or will you consider filming locations of The Great Outdoors movie?
Is it just me, or did anyone else notice that the house Angela lived in from the side view kind of resembled the house on Amityville?
I added the link to this video on Wikipedia for the movie in the "Resurrection and legacy" section
i kinda want to see this movie now O.o
