+BoostedM20 they get virtually nothing. something to eat and drink and maybe some euros but not much for 2 days work on a weekend... they just love it like we do. AND without marshall's: no race!
You must know that that first chicane was set up specifically to ensure safety to the people on the hill along the road. Before the chicanes were put there, there was an incident where a tire of one guys car detached from the car, flew right into the public and killed one spectator.
Oh my gawd. Fuck that damn tire chicane! I would be Livid at the sanctioning body for setting those up in such a tight configuration after a high speed section! Do the drivers get pace notes or tulip notes of the course before hand? That damn chicane is just so out of place. Its no wonder everybody was getting damage. It irritates the hell out of me >.
+garyhowe88 I know why they are in place. The problem is the super tight configuration of the tires. If the entry and exit tire walls were just 2 feet further apart, or if the exit tire wall had just one section removed from its length, the impacts could have been avoided all together. You're attempting to make a corner thats the same length as your car or shorter. Basically, unless you are racing a sub-compact, you run the likely hood of contacting those unless you damn near come to a complete stop. No matter what. In short, its was horrible placement by the sanctioning body that should have been contested.
Brilliant, loved this, thanyou.
safety Marshall's: respect.

Bowling...!
Wow, those chicanes from hell wrecked a lot of cars. I'm sure the EVO driver was pretty pissed.
They look too tight for that incoming speed.
+Jordi Castelar Ortega Or they just brake to late!
MrLeovdmeer that is for sure
safety Marshall's did not need to visit gym that weekend
Do those Marshall's get paid or is that volunteer work.

+markoni1986 yes.. YT need a littel time... ;) thanks! we try our best.
I understadn the need for the tyres, but some of these chicances were too slow, they ruin the spectacle and cause a heap of damage to the cars.
+chunder27 that's right ! and the cars will not really slow down for long time... only for the chicane and after the chicane still 160 km/h

You do realise it's there to limit speed and make it safer....?
