Man hillclimb is no joke. Rollbar, Firesuit, Extinguisher, HANS, and Arm restraints for what is essentially a stock road car. Is that required for all classes?
I recently found out about this. Been wanting to find something hillclimb related and I'm a state away. Ill probably be at the duryea one in August. If you ever decide to visit northern Delaware, check out the Hockessin area. we got ton of backroads with steep hills going up and down, with very narrow windy roads. I've driven/been in a few cars at night and it's ridiculous. Not really crowded during the day either. Nice scenery also. A good starting point would be Brandywine Creek state park area.
Just curious on your thoughts regarding the S1 vs S2 gearbox in an S1 RX8 debate? I watch your shifting and it's very smooth, I suspect those with gearbox issues tend to be too aggressive and these need a gentle touch. Great videos BTW!
Thanks man. I run redline mt90 trans fluid and change each season. Add you pointed out, I also go fairly easy on the tranny. I have many dozens of track, autocross, and hillclimb events and it shifts like butter. I like the s1 gearing and the fact that it's lighter and... Free, lol.
@@rx8matt Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately mine needs a new gearbox and I was on the fence as to which one. I'm going with the S1, and going to work on getting much smoother. ua-cam.com/video/OkCznOdCw5c/v-deo.html

NCD2294 yeah that's the bare minimum. Faster classes require cage. The hills weren't really designed with safety at 100+ mph in mind 😉
Great video! Sounds great, handles beautifully, driving is very good!
Thanks for the compliments! That was my first year, my video in year two is significantly quicker
