I am not. In the muzzle loader days, it was not uncommon for guns to not fire and have a significant delay between trigger pull and the bullet firing. It was not uncommon to find muzzle loaders from the American civil war era to have multiple rounds loaded in the rifle because the person thought they fired the gun and was loading an empty weapon. It was also uncommon to fire the musket and have to wait a few seconds for the charge to ignite and the bullet to fire. Modern muzzle loading technology is leaps and bounds ahead of what the people of said time could imagine.
When I saw the title, I thought to myself "Oh goodness above, what has the Idahoan done now, superposed charges fired in sequence? Ain't that gonna blow up on him?" and while on one hand I am relieved, on the other I would really want to see you try your hand at some actual high rate of fire blackpowder gun, be it multi-barrel or otherwise. Obviously the loading would be oh such a pain, hah!
That is an an actual practical muzzle loader, very well done! If it were a SxS with twice the capacity, many people who can't own regular guns (for whatever reason, usually because of politicians) would probably want one for home defence. Simple, handy and effective. 👍
Over and under would be even better yet, there is a reason why most if not all sport shotgunners (trap, skeet, pheasant hunters etc.) use an over and under instead of a side by side. Easier to hit moving targets with, when you have to worry less about windage.
@@jimbo30 True, but for a compact home defence lead flinger like the one in the video it's not really a concern. You just gotta hit whatever's in front of the barrels at 20-30 feet. Load her with buckshot for that extra hit guarantee. Plus you know them short barrel coach gun vibes mean business, as opposed to some Englishman's over-under skeet shotgun looks! 😁
Cool build! Muzzle loaders not being affected by the restrictions of firearms lends itself well to creativity. You could make a "full auto" muzzle loader with several barrels that a single trigger pull would ignite in succession. A "semi auto" might be more feasible, look up the liberator shotgun. It had several barrels positioned in a circle, and it's trigger mecanism would act like a double action revolver. The firing pin would rotate to hit each barrel in succession.
Damn, a man after my own heart, now I don't feel all alone. I want a 30-06 bolt action repeater, that at a short distance can be mistaken for a Brown Bess musket.
Your skills have grown! Great job on the muzzleloader as well as the video editing…very cool! At fist glance it looked similar to the “game getter” made back in the early 1900’s, 20’s or 30’s, but yours would be for mid to large game…i enjoyed watching!
Nice xD I love that its a light big bore carbine lol Though, you could make a semiauto variant of it by using paper cartridges and making it recoil operated! I know it uses black powder but it should work with recoil operation for at least a bit.
If you want a muzzleloader machine gun, then you need superpose - or stacked - ammo. Essentially, you put multiple loads of powder and bullets in repeating order. Place the lock at the first load to fire and a small hole in each bullet causes each load to fire after, in order.
China has some desktop small five-axis CNCs used for school teaching. If you can use that kind of cheap CNC to process interesting things, the price seems to be only five or six hundred US dollars.
Well done! I like your project. If you had a sliding carrier with primers and powder/ball mounted into it then you could have a repeating black power gun. I'm not sure how to make it full auto though.
Naw, Dawg, what you got there is a compact pack-gun. And USE THE DARN STOCK, there's no advantage to shooting it otherwise. Questions, of course - how's accuracy out to 75 - 100 yds., from field positions, what caliber/bullet weight, and what kind of power - feet per second - is it generating? You know, Dr. Gatling made his first guns in .58 cal., using iron "cartridges" loaded with Minie' balls and a recessed cap nipple in the back. Loaded from a hopper, via gravity. Something similar, pistol sized, loading from a box magazine, blow-back operated.... 🤪
@@TheIdahoanShow it's smacking something fairly hard then. Just for looks I think it would be pretty cool to weld on a side mounted box to hold extra bullets and caps coming off the side of it, it could hold patches or ammo whatever you want, but you make the box look like a stick mag like one of the sten guns. That would be pretty pleasing to the eye
The "Amish Thompson"?
The "Menonite Luty"?
The "Lancaster Typewriter"?
I love it!
The "Amish Typewriter"?
Amish Typewriter sounds like a Mennonite version of Facebook

I was amazed in that slow motion shot the delay between the hammerfall and the actual firing.
I am not.

A folding stock that becomes a forward grip when not extended... lovely idea! Why has no one else done that before?
It was done in the 1940s by the Vz-48b, mass produced in Czechoslovakia, a pretty popular submachinegun.
I know there was a submachine gun made by the UVF (Northern Irish paramilitary group) called the UVF Avenger that did it.
I love that the collapsed configuration gives you a foregrip. Great engineering!
Very post apocalyptic, love it.
that's the sense I humor I always come for! take care of yourself Idahoan!
Your videos are always original and interesting. I think everyone can agree that this is the best muzzle loading submachine gun video on UA-cam
When I saw the title I just HAD to check it out. Did not disappoint.
great engineering and production skills

Pietta’s 1851 pepper box
awesome build as always, glad you finally got a 3D printer
Nice. Maybe you can make a similar as a rotating
5 or 7 barrel percussion Gatling style? :)

I don't know where the heck you come ujp with this stuff, but it is entertaining! Try it with a muzzleloading revolver.
Will be looking for this on Cursed Gun Images. Neat build though.
Must modify to accept “Cartoon Physics”. I love it!
Bravo for the imagination and videography creativity.
In Canada, that would be called an assault style weapon. Nice editing at the end lol.
Good work!
I'm referring to both the muzzle loader itself and the video.
Well done sir!
Damn, a man after my own heart, now I don't feel all alone. I want a 30-06 bolt action repeater, that at a short distance can be mistaken for a Brown Bess musket.
Nice build. The perforated hand guard and folding stock are particularly well done!
I would love to see you take on an Idahoan Flintlock mechanism for your muzzleloaders!
I like the ML stuff! I remember you were working on a repeating pistol design, sure would like to see how that too is going!
Man i havent seen your videos for about a year. Your work is still amazing.
Nice build 👍
That thing has some thump to it!!

Great video!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
Pretty cool thanks for sharing
Very entertaining, thank you.
If Mark Serbu was around in 1785 , this would be on Forgotten Weapons 😊

So he needs to build a metal storm.

Reminds of something the Ewoks would create in the original Star Wars series.
As a machinist I feel compelled to make one of these.....but I don't feel like it
Nice work mister ! You are really skilled. Congratulations.
Excellent
BATF will be over in a heart beat! LOL

Have you ever seen the Lorenzoni-Girandoni pistol? It could solve the muzzle loading issue, and be a fun project build.
At first blush, I imagined wrong… or, maybe rightly.
If you so desired, could build a Gatling gun 🤗
High-capacity, assault muzzleloader.
Very cool video thank you that’s a pretty good looking submachine gun muzzle loader. Let me know where I can buy one.
Now do a 12 gauge Gatling gun!
Lmfao I was waiting for it
Great fun. 😂
You should make a harmonica rifle
In my opinion, it's not pretty but it has the appeal of "i kinda wanna shoot it."

Забавно получилось)
Cursed gun images black powder edition 😂
hilarious!
I guess it could be called a muzzleloading PDW instead of a smg lol
Thought of trying a superimposed load "roman candle" gun? Not sure on the legality in your neck of the woods.
I'm curious, would the fact that it's a muzzle loader actually exclude it from the ban on automatic firearms?
Would depend on the language of the ban, but right now, muzzleloaders aren't even considered "firearms" under federal law.
I was expecting full auto through superposed charges.
There’s such a thing as repeating muzzleloader she could do some research into that. Might hope for some fruitful results
Damn that thing has some pop to it what caliber is that thing. And how much powder did you load
.50 caliber. I was using about 100 grains of black powder.

Can I get the plans for it?
Rad
Well done but you don’t need 50 magazines in your clip. JK
smooth bore ? rifle ? caliber ? no info ):
50 caliber, rifled with 1:24 twist.
LoL
Lol😅😅
