Hello nick what do you make of the new February rules that the seller MUST WAIT UNTIL THE ITEM IS RECEIVED BY THE BUYER TRACKING AND QR CODE.VALIDATEDIF sent by Standard postage the BUYER MUST WAIT 30 DAYS B
It’s not a serrated edge, it’s called a deckled edge (sorry I’m not sure of the spelling). Years ago I had a box of airmail stationery that had edges like that.
Thanks for the video I always enjoy watching them. Been a quiet Christmas sales wise and I’m thinking of expanding the range of items I sell (mostly clothes). I was just wondering if you (or anyone commenting) use a cross listing app?
Hi Nic, just watched your video. Shame about the Yoda return. Will look forward to my mug (early Christmas shopping) and the Cath Kitson changing mat. Thanks for the mention - Cath 😉😂
I had noro, flu and now pneumonia so I am watching this with a my headphones on in the hospital. I’m in my own room . In Japan you have accept returns.
As a fellow reseller, we don't take returns just because the buyer changed their mind. Obviously, we take returns if something is wrong. This has worked for us for years. It is annoying, yes ( when you think nothing is actually wrong ), but that's where the buyer gets their way anyway. We don't sell a lot of clothing, but when a buyer wants to return the item because it didn't fit, they pay the shipping to send it back. I'm not paying shipping for them to try it on. That is what's works well for us, but I know sellers do it with return anything for free as well.
Same here - in this case they paid to return as they changed their mind... as a business we have to accept returns due to distance selling regulations :)
The issue with this is they can just select “item not as described” instead and force a return. They don’t have to prove it to eBay or anything, you don’t have a choice
That’s a very bad practice. ALL customers, regardless or retailer l, ABSOLUTELY has to give a refund if the customer decides they don’t want the product. As long as it’s brand new and not opened. You are a very bad unkind selfish seller and I would never buy from someone so unreasonable. Ever heard of ordering the wrong item by mistake? Or simply wanting a different colour because you simply changed your mind.
@@grahamkelly8662 you’re a bit confused Graham. He’s not talking about new and unopened items. Also, he as the seller will lose out on postage just so this buyer can try the item on. Maybe if the buyer pays postage both ways then it is fair
@ I never disputed the postage and this seller didn’t say anything other then “ I do not accept a return just because they change their mind” No mention of if new or used. Bad bad seller and I’ve encountered many, unfortunately. So many just rip off the customer and use the excuse of “some” bad or dishonest customers, as their justification. Again, terrible seller No care No compassion No morals
Isn't that part of the consignment deal? The overall profit will just be lower by the postage cost and so it has only really cost you 50% of the outgoing postage cost.
A drunken purchase no doubt, your not the only one this happens to, I find it, why do people open items when they no longer want it. Then spin a yarn to get you to pay the return postage.
Just checking but I may have seen buyer details on the A4 Sheet! Not me but be aware. I'm a seller too and since 2011 I've never had a return but if I do no issues just part & parcel, pardon the punn, jen
I found Xmas quite up and down but overall not bad, just been getting back to some listing over the past couple of days and it seems not the normal effect as it's gone quiet. But thats just how it is somethimes, delayed effect is not unheard of.
Lurgy before christmas, Lurgy now...Gotta keep working though. Those returns really hurt a lot! I'm kind of a new sub, been running an E-bay business for 10 years now selling laptop parts.
@ I’ve just had someone take advantage on Vinted! The idiot at the yodel dispatch put for collection. So customer said why am I collecting from a garage in birmingham? I said that’s where I dropped it. They obviously made a mistake. I said I’ll get it sorted to customer so they put in for a refund. I went back to collect it and it’s been and it’s gone so basically they’ll get item for free!
Although returns are not good, it is not really a problem accepting a return when there are no issues. Of course you do mind wasting your time and paying for the original postage, but far better that, than having some joker breaking it, opening a "not as described" case and you're on the hook for return postage and even worse you get a destroyed item back. I really don't mind real reason returns. Did you get that email last week that ebay are "upgrading" buyer protection - yet again - I don't even bother to read them anymore
I couldn't watch more than 3 minutes of your video. Sorry, but the constant camera/phone movements, gives me motion sickness. Can't you put it on a fixed position?
The lurgy! 3 times since October. Amoxicillin twice never quite went away Doxycycline cleared it up! 3 month uphill struggle! Back in the game! Keep up the great content and happy new year

Nick your getting more and more like a children's T V presenter lol
I'll take it as a compliment.... I think!
how many smashed items do you get a month when selling vases etc?
Usually zero, I would say on average we get one smashed item per year, I go to great lengths to package everything securely
Hello nick what do you make of the new February rules that the seller MUST WAIT UNTIL THE ITEM IS RECEIVED BY THE BUYER TRACKING AND QR CODE.VALIDATEDIF sent by

THEY GET THE MONEY.??ITS NOW THE BANK OF EBAY.ITS A STITCH UP!NICK ANDREA WHATS YOUR THOUGHTS??
We made a video about the changes… nothing has changed if you are a business seller - the changes affect private sellers
Yes Nick I am a private seller AND FEEL ITS TOTALLY UNFAIR!😢
It’s not a serrated edge, it’s called a deckled edge (sorry I’m not sure of the spelling). Years ago I had a box of airmail stationery that had edges like that.
Deckled... great word
Thanks for the video I always enjoy watching them. Been a quiet Christmas sales wise and I’m thinking of expanding the range of items I sell (mostly clothes). I was just wondering if you (or anyone commenting) use a cross listing app?
We don't currently use a cross listing platform
The lustre ware reminds me of my childhood 🙂

LOL - Many thanks for the order....

As a business seller, so do we

No care
No compassion
No morals
All the buyer needs to do is say the item is faulty and they don't need to pay return postage.
Isn't that part of the consignment deal? The overall profit will just be lower by the postage cost and so it has only really cost you 50% of the outgoing postage cost.
Yes you are correct
What was the name of where the vase sold? vinteria?
Yes
Nic is the plan still to turn the shed in to an air b&b im kind of used to reselling shed videos now 😂
That was always the plan, we may have news on this soon… watch this space
I haven't avoided the lurgy! Oh well, hopefully it wears off soon.
Get well soon!
A drunken purchase no doubt, your not the only one this happens to, I find it, why do people open items when they no longer want it. Then spin a yarn to get you to pay the return postage.
When your title said £100 return I thought you made a profit of £100 lol 😂
Patience you must have and a sale you will get
Looks like you could do with treating Andrea to some more shelfing
You may have a point LOL
Or a shed of her own 😂
Just checking but I may have seen buyer details on the A4 Sheet! Not me but be aware. I'm a seller too and since 2011 I've never had a return but if I do no issues just part & parcel, pardon the punn, jen
You can’t contact someone on eBay without them having a listing anyway, which would be harassment, all you can see is their eBay name which is public
£100 is pocket change, just give them the money back and forget about it.
Relist if for an extra £50 added to the price and a garuntee it will sell.
I found Xmas quite up and down but overall not bad, just been getting back to some listing over the past couple of days and it seems not the normal effect as it's gone quiet. But thats just how it is somethimes, delayed effect is not unheard of.
We are back to listing now as well, we have plenty to work through!
Loved this video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lurgy before christmas, Lurgy now...Gotta keep working though. Those returns really hurt a lot! I'm kind of a new sub, been running an E-bay business for 10 years now selling laptop parts.
Thanks for the sub!
Cheers Nic 👍😊
Happy new year from Benfleet Essex
Happy new year
Tickety Tock Tickery Tock whats the time on Nicks ticking Clock
I really am rather worried about that coffin in Andrea's workroom. I know you sell eclectic items but.......
It's where I sleep...
@@NicHillsyou sleep?😱
Nik do you think you will ever stop reselling when you get old or do you love it??
If I ever stop enjoying it then maybe... but it suits me just fine :)
What do you mean "Get old?" 🙂 Lol.
I could put up with a £100 return as long as it’s sealed! I’d be going crazy if they doubted it and change their mind.
If it was returned opened then we would have had a very different video…. Returning a sealed item is fine, annoying, but part of online selling :)
@ I’ve just had someone take advantage on Vinted!

Especially as the set is only really worth about £80.

Indeed, as I said in the video, it's an irritation but we deal with it, relist and move on
I realized watching the video that your customer did pay to send it back👍
Yes :)
Hi Nic you given up on the world in my eyes channel?
Yes, UA-cam imposed restrictions on the account and wouldn’t lift them so I stopped making content on there a while back
@NicHills that's a shame as a massive Erasure and Depeche Mode fan i loved watching them
@NicHills did u ever complete your Erasure collection?
I always state no returns,😊
Which as a private seller is your choice, however as a business we have to accept returns and adhere to distance selling regulations
At least they paid return
Indeed :)
Me I'm KATh I didn't realise my purchase was was so important😜😜
Yes you are!
Happy New Year Nic and Andrea. From Andrew in Australia. Hoping you both have a great 2025! 🎉
Happy new year!
£100 return item. , what a pathetic so and so that buyer was.
Buyers are within their rights to return for whatever reason when buying from a business...
I ike the block button 🫣🤣
Return you have
I love your shed videos - but aren’t you absolutely freeeeezing?
Layers, lots of layers!!
It’s my hands that freeze!
Can i return to you empty packet
I couldn't watch more than 3 minutes of your video. Sorry, but the constant camera/phone movements, gives me motion sickness. Can't you put it on a fixed position?
Why don't you just turn off returns? I have mine turned off and I make decent money on ebay. Can never be bothered with returns!
As a business seller we have to accept returns in line with distance selling regulations
@NicHills oh I see
NO LONGER NEEDED 😮😮😮
DISGUSTING EXCUSE
Take care 😘 Linlin XXXXXXX
It happens - just part of what we do, maybe it was for a Christmas gift and it turned out they didn't want it
Not you're problem if not wanted, you're too soft😊
