I know this is an old video but an fyi based on what you said about the fire web recharge, thats not how recharge works. it doesnt recharge 5 or 6 times. it means it only recharges if the spider rolls a 5 or 6 at the start of its turn

Is this with a d6 before the spider takes its turn?

I missed this comment. I'm a seasoned player, but new to DM. Thanks for the insight! I'm no Matthew Mercer LOL

@@Bizlok21 yes, recharge abilities require you to roll a d6 at the start of the monster turn. if you roll a 5 or 6 (in the case of a recharge 5-6 ability), then it has that ability back

@@OGDweeb we all have things we can still learn. mercer is a great example of a strong storyteller and DM, but even he gets rules wrong on stream all the time. take inspiration from his work, but never feel like you should be comparing yourself to him, critical role has created an unrealistically performative and polished view of the game that most players and DM's have never and will never have at their tables.

@@OGDweeb Hi! I played six times, each session with four people. I added an introduction beforehand and gave the players the option to share woth the city or not what they found in the brewery. I had to translate the poem because I was narrating at a geek event, the largest in my state’s history, with around 5,000 people passing by my company’s space. Since the event was for people of all ages, it was risky to rely on everyone knowing at least basic English.
Overall, everything went very well. The floor puzzle was very difficult for some groups; some people tried to step on the right colors while others tried to balance the weights in each place.
The final boss was terrifying and epic for all the groups. Veterans and first-timers alike enjoyed it immensely despite the noise of the event. Many participants returned in the following days to thank us and to ask if we could meet outside the event for more adventures like this. Luckily for them, our company is an event production company specializing in geek events, and we host several exclusive RPG events. We even have an event this Saturday. Do you have any recommendations for another adventure?

Unfortunately I haven't played in a while now. 😔 I have few other reviews up here. Horror at Havel's Cross was a good one.

Running this for some new players tonight. I had hoped to run the trilogy of intro adventures that go with this one, but the 2nd and 3rd part make a hard left turn in tone and get super dark. Didn't really fit the fun tone of the first.

i enjoyed running this for new players too. i kept the number of rats at the beginning higher and it put the fear of death into the players. this made it a great setup for tomb of annihilation. thanks for the review!

No problem! I'd love to run Tomb, but Im a little intimidated. I'm a very experienced player, but new DM 😅
