Never thought about starting Colt trailing cattle would be the reason we didn't have any buck. When I was in my 20s work at a large sale barn. We would by a halter broke Colt Monday night Tus morning saddle let them buck if they wished. Tus evening their first ride was trailing cattle to pens. Always figured it was just because we was in tight Allie's

    Hey Larry!
Thanks for sharing. So interesting, same principle goes for Agility dogs. If you let them be a little wild and crazy and learn to love the game they will always excel above a dog that started with obedience classes and then entered agility. The obedience dogs always look to their handler and are unsure of themselves. “Is this okay?” Tentative on course. Want to be correct. They just don’t love the game as much. And therefore don't excel to their full potential. Interesting carryover between species.

Thanks for the video Larry! Newer to you social media platforms, but so far I really appreciate the content you’ve put out. I was about to ask a question on if a horse could do both cutting and reined cow horse events, but saw that your site already had an article posted on the exact topic. Thanks for the great work!

Thanks for the response Larry! A couple more questions sorta relating to the topic. If you were to start a horse wanted to introduce them the cutting and working cow, would you start in a 2 rein or split rein setup? And two, are there certain confirmation qualities you look for in a cutting horse vs a working cow horse? Drawing from my own athletic background I know there are certain body types that are more suited for one sport than another. Thanks in advance!

I have a question. Those reins are so long, that they hang down by the horses feet. Do they ever step on them like that?
