Karnataka is like Maha: Mumbai is like Bengaluru. Rural side Karnataka is orthodox and backward. Rural Maha is little bit more advanced and bit more forward. Compare with other states: Karnataka is not Bengaluru and vice versa.

The district with highest per-capita of UP,Bihar, chattisgarh, madhya pradesh, jharkhand and Rajasthan other than capitals and Noida is Meerut with 1.08 lakhs and the poorest district in karnataka is kalaburagi with 1.2 lakhs.(Other districts aren't backward Bengaluru is so developed that it makes others look underdeveloped).

I do agree the maha culture is more modern due to great reformers were born there , Ranade ,Thilak , Phule , Ambedkar contribution to Indian society is huge , maha culture is purogami , in Karnataka though we started with people like Basavana way back in 12th century , he has become just statue now . In modern history there was no social reformer and movements in Karnataka which had impact on its culture . It’s true rural Karnataka is backward

@@Adyjetu you are very correct in saying that we have made great leaders and reformers into statues. Indian politicians love it
