  • Come along for a day on the water! Tim is on Lake Chickamauga for the first time in a few weeks and the Fall transition is in full swing! Cooler nights have brought falling water temperatures. Add the lake level dropping in anticipation of Fall/Winter and the bass are really on the move!
    Tim's plan is to target active fish and he's hoping to find frog fish as main lake grass begins to be exposed by the dropping water levels. It doesn't take long for him to start catching fish! Come along for a fun day on the water as he puts the pieces together and starts catching fish.
    Below you'll find links to the exact baits and gear he threw throughout the day. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of the items.

    You are right about storms Tim. I was fishing in 2021 in October and I went after it heavily rained and I caught a 6 pound bass on a spinnerbait. The storms will always bring out the bigger fish.

    Same deal down here in So. Cal. lots of activity on the water but allot of small fish caught on all the techniques you have been using. If you get a fish over 4lbs. right now your money! Always enjoy your videos and they are very helpful.

    I know my Garmin does not like to work when the voltage gets below 11.5 volts. it will power up but the mapping and down imaging do not move. Fortunately, I know the local lake I fish pretty well so I can live without it on the water. I still have my Humminbird at the console I can spin around to look at it while I'm up front. the only downside is when i look at it I have to remember left is right and the right is left.

    What is the water temperature range you and Matt consider the fall transition?

    • @tacticalbassin
      @tacticalbassin  11 місяців тому +2

      Water temperature is completely irrelevant. If you're in the North it might be 65 when it starts dropping, in the South it might be 92 when it starts.
      It's just about the sudden change in nighttime air temperatures that leads to a drop in water temp. It doesn't matter where it drops from or to, just that it starts to drop.

    Hey Tim! Got a question for you and Matt.
    Going from braid to leader (18lb braid to 8lb mono) what is the STRONGER option??
    Direct braid to leader knot? Or braid to swivel, then leader?
    Thanks for all the great content over the years, miss ya on the West Coast!!

    • @Matthiaskyriakidis
      @Matthiaskyriakidis 11 місяців тому +1

      I will say this my best guess would be that the swivel would be stronger, because the lines wouldn’t be cutting in on each other or rubbing against each other, but I think a direct braid to mono would catch more fish and be easier to cast, the swivel creates more of a presence in the water that depending on how deep you’re fishing could affect the fish, and if you put on a lot of leader (I usually put a lil more than my wingspan on) it might be less accurate and harder to cast. But the swivel part I’m not sure on, hope he responds to you.

      Knots are best for sensitivity. Learn how to tie an FG knot, and you will have a strong connection knot.
