If you run a 3-4 I would just run mid-double and mid-triple to death and throw in some zone dive to mix it up.

If they give TE wing rather than like that flexed Wr and Wing nasty look, how would you control C gap?

If it is a TE, we still treat it the same, but he OLB will get head up on the TE. I call that a JAM-6, & he works heavy into the C-gap. Coverage would be Cloud based because of the Stack created (Switch).

Sorry, what's the difference between "Cloud" and "Switch"?
(CB has Pitch/Flat on each, presumably Safety is deep).

Cloud is a triangle, or 3v2 coverage, w/ the CB taking the flat. Switch is my term for Cloud, but we don't have a Wall-2 player. So a 2v2 coverage that functions similarly to Cloud.

@@MatchQuarters OK, so in each case if I understand correctly, the CB has the Flat/Pitch/ Primary Contain, and the Safety has Secondary Contain and deep responsibility versus pass. Is there any difference in responsibilities or techniques for the CB or the Safety?

He's covered up by the X. "Dead" WR. Can't go out for a pass.

I wonder if the NFL will ever try "dead" receiver formations.

You don't see the NFL "wasting" WRs, but I have seen T-Over to get a 3-man surface to the 2 WR side.

In my experience they will usually tell a receiver if he is OK (on or off) or not, but will officials at the HS or college level confirm or contradict to defensive players that a receiver is "dead" or ineligible or eligible?
