@@rpungello It's intentional in sweep rowing. One hand is responsible for keeping the blade against the gate and the other hand is responsible for squaring and feathering.
@@rpungello Oh the double haha, I was confused by your question as it seemed like a disconnect from the OP's comment. I didn't notice any difference in the grip. Stroke was probably tired at the finish of the race to raise his bow-side blade up that high. Other than that I didn't notice any irregularities.
@@pradeepsahoo7243his thumbs are wrapped around the handle like on an erg, rather than on the end. It also looks like his pinky isn’t even on the grip, but rather the shaft. At least from this angle, his port hand looks to be further down the shaft than starboard, though admittedly that’s a bit harder to tell.
@@pomanprod Nikon Z9, so I get IBIS + optical VR. Combine that with sitting down at bracing my arms against my core/legs makes for a reasonably steady shot.
