I have been looking for a rendition that harmonises this song this way for about 30 years. I heard this done like this just once at my Sister's School Christmas Concert. Thank you guys... Although I found it a bit fast. Had to take the speed down to 0.8x
I had to carol with this song at my high school and it was so high for the sopranos that we were destroying our voices so bad. I'm just glad you men can do it so much more beautifully 😍
Love singing with The King's Singers! It'd be a dream to see one of these for New Day. That song introduced me to the King's Singers and has been my favorite ever since.
I love that I can 100% hear your accents. Normally I find Bel canto style singing smooths over the characteristic differences. But here is pain as day with the sopranist.
That ending PSA! Based on the part you sing, i would not have guessed that’s how your speaking voice would be, but it does seem appropriate too… song is such an interesting thing
I was so sad to learn that the concert me and my friends were going to (Amsterdam) was cancelled due to covid.. hopefully we'll get another chance to hear you guys singing IRL someday!
Hello! By any chance do you know the title of this certain Christmas that is melodically similar with Ding! Dong! Merrily on High, but the lyrics goes something like this: Sing a merry merry song the Christmas bells are ringing Voices bright and clear, like happy angels singing Aaaaaaallelujiah, allelujiah Thank you!
It's interesting to me that you double up on the lowered voices, not the higher ones. Usually even the best falsetists can be overpowered by just one tenor. Trying not to overpower with that many singing in model voice mist be tricky.
I wish they had more carols like this in the U.S. instead of the tedious overly advertised "Jingle Bells". The Christmas episode of Mr. Bean was the first which introduced me to this carol.
I'm sure I'm in the minority but their faces give me the creeps. It distracts from the music - but then we're in the "look-at-me look-at-me" era. And I'm a professional tenor who has followed the King's Singers for decades.
What a treat to hear these clear beautiful voices singing together in perfect harmony! MERRY Christmas from South Africa!
Thank you!
I hope everyone has a happy Christmas
Kings Singers are head and shoulders above all the rest! Beautifully sung!

They look so uncanny, but well sung.
had to put it to 0.75x speed to practice :D thank you!
Cool! I just did the same!

What is the tempo of this piece?

It's interesting that you include the sheet music and then do not sing it as written (in the music). Last bar of the word "Gloria".... ;)
Great english accent
C'est pour j'annee prochaine..
@loge10 Just close your eyes 🤪
I know this song a lot slower. ;-)
