It's fun when you realize that there are several points in that match where Hinata taking a week as a ball boy is the only reason why his team wins. As Coach Ukai said, don't underestimate what it takes to be a ball boy. And look around, what can you learn right now from your current situation that you couldn't anywhere else?
I remember one of the first things Hinata wanted to do at the training camp was spike the ball when the coach was calling the players to do drills. I honestly think Hinata would have continued to put emphasis on his attacking skills than on his defensive skills had he not gone to the training camp. Lol, side note: When Hinata received Aran's spike I called him Shoyo for the first time without realizing it.
I watched haikyuu for first time around Christmas, it honnestly might be the most emotional an anime has made me feel for some reason, and also increased my motivation for volleyball that I lost after graduating school too. I think I gotta rewatch it lmao
"You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life." - Steve Jobs
"Things in life are fat too complicated for us to be sure that our initial assumption was correct often we cant know for sure until we get stuck into it " this gives one so much relief knowing that you dont always have to be sure of what you want and just let things happen without doubting everything
The first time I saw Hinata's ball-boy arc I was in high school, I didn't really like it and kept wishing they'd cut back to what Kageyama was doing. But having seen it again last year, now in college and having done an internship, I kept thinking Hinata was awesome for forcing that chance and from learning so much from his new position. It also reminded me a lot of my own internship lol.
"The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way" -Marcus Aurelius This quote summarizes ball boy arc pretty well I think.
When Ukai says, "Don't underestimate what it takes to be a ball boy", the implication is more clear in Japanese, where he says, "ボール拾いナメンなよ?(Ball horoi namen na yo?)". "ball hiroi" is literally, picking up balls, but can be understood as "recieving" the ball. And, yes, it ends with a question mark, which to me expresses something like, "You're not going to underestimate what it takes to 'pick-up' the ball, right?" (Just happen to be reading through the series for the first time in Japanese, in prep for this years Haruko)
I'm feeling a lot of built-up envy and a lot of dissatisfaction, but it's a constant up-and-down thing nowadays because the joyful bits of my college life would outshine the depressing thoughts at the back of my mind...sometimes. Like this video, I cope by thinking of my situation as a unique trajectory of my life and its convoluted parallel timelines. If things went my way back then, this current path I'm trekking on would be one that I could only have imagined. And isn't that exciting too? (But I hope that in every universe, the versions of me can all realize my goal: make money, live comfortably, and sustain my needs so that I'm healthy.)
I love this idea so much. I currently have a law teacher who pretty much makes fun of me during every mock trial meeting to the point that i dont like speaking in the same room as her, and I used people like hinata and asta from black clover as inspiration to keep moving forward. Now I realized that, that experience allowed me to become more independent- i gave up on expecting my law teacher to help me and then began getting help outside and putting the work in and now i have a law internship this summer, a thing that most people get in their senior year whereas im only a sophomore who is going into Junoir year after this summer. Not every horrible situation is purely bad :))
It's mainly laziness probably, but those videos are nearly always so interesting. Story theme analisis is kinda hard actually and I often miss it in the stories like a child missing cars on the streets and fucking dying. It's so fun to see what the author was doing behind what he was doing and learn from it but I usually can't. Personal perspective is often very welcome too as it teaches even more
Your video comes at a time when I'm at yet another low in my life. I've had many of them this year, always about the same thing, but it's convenient that this video is the one that shows up which is exactly what I need to hear. I want to look better, I want to have a respectable profession, I want to be loved, I want to not be weird, etc. Hitting almost 30 and I hope this video sticks through me. I've been telling myself this all the time already but it's different when someone--even fictional--achieves things on sheer hard work.
This life lesson is so important. We never know which life experiences will be unknowingly beneficial for us in the future. In my case, I did an internship at a place that was very loosely, and barely related to what I was studying at uni, years later, I land my first job at that place, thanks to not only that previous experience but to my own choice of study path after I finished uni. That event that looked like a missed opportunity, ended up being a golden one.
Nah bro, this one made me cry. You ended it so perfectly, and just like where the ball is heading, every part of the video was in the perfect place; it all was a beautiful message executed elegantly. I swear, each video gets better than the last one.
No cap. This is fr DOPE, useful and very relatable. IMO ofc. Keep it up. Everyone should not be quick to gave in to life's worst... Instead... You get up, get ready & get at 'em. Y'all are all getting where you need to be, but just make sure not to miss any opportunities that ar3 likely to get You there faster. Replace the word "problems" with "opportunity". So make sure not to miss yours.😉 Stay safe everyone. And get your drive. 🔥💯
I have been watching this anime non-stop since 2019 whenever I felt down. It always inspired me but I didn't know what made me feel like that. This video has revealed to me what it was that made me feel inspired and stronger. I hope that you and all the people who made this anime experience joy true what they do. Now that's all from me as I have to go and be a ball boy! :>
Thank you so much for this (I cried a bit lol) I can completely agree with the others here that the entire concept for your channel is so wonderful and your videos are so good TT
It's interesting how people coin the term blind faith when faith itself is an absolute. Presence and absence can be both seen and felt but not always simultaneously. None of which can entirely be good or bad. If you agree, then determination can be an absolute 💯
I just found your channel and have been crying and bingeing and crying and bingeing a lot of your videos. As an aspiring YTuber myself I just wanted to say thank you for standing in the right place because I didn't know I needed this channel.
I have re-watched the series multiple times and will continue doing so in the future. It is so true that there are alot of things that will stuck on you and characters to relate to depends on the situation or feelings you have at the moment. The show is inspriing enough for it to pick me up or humble me in so many ways.
this video makes me cry and think of a different perspective on life as a volleyball varsity and part time collage student. thank you so much for making this video, new subscriber btw.
Thank you so much, you made me cry. It's been some months that I've been in a totally bad situation, fired and struggling to get even interviews, I've been in a constant depression. I know that I just need to keep pressing forward but today was one of those days of peaks and panic attacks. You where in the right place and moment for me. Not that I was going to do something crazy but I needed to have some kind of release and you were there with your video. Thank you very much
What a wonderful way to put it; as most of the people watching, I also am dealing with many similar feelings. I too find comfort in Hinata’s struggles; it really makes you want to stand up and keep moving even when you literally feel nailed to the ground. Great analysis and video 😢
very well and accurately said with haikyuu along with domestic girlfriend with every single rewatch i always receive much needed advise/insight at any point of hardship. truly testement of how well written they are
bro i love your videos the concept of just taking an anime and pointing out the lessons useful for so many (especially young) people‘s lives is making me happy and proud of you, even though i only know you for a few months just want to let you know how valueable your content is keep it up man! pleasure to be here 🫶🏻
Thank you for this. And thank you for being so vulnerable in this video, it made this really relatable because of your sincerity. I could feel your love for haikyuu beyond words and pictures could explain. Please keep making videos im wishing you the best of luck
This video related to me so hard that i got super emotional. In the way that i had a new perspective on how I view my life and my achievements that led me to this moment. As i was watching your video i realized that, even though i am in a really tough spot in my life, (like really rough) i can make the most of it, and I will be exactly where i need to be in life.
I generally dont comment on youtube but I genuinely think I was meant to see this video today. Ive just been feeling a lot of doubt regarding my current situation, even second guessing myself when a few months I wouldnt even BELIEVE i would be there. Maybe there IS not bad situation, there is no mistakes and just happy incidents, and I am exactly where I am meant to be. Learning to be grateful of the whole picture and not getting stuck on the brush strokes smth smth. Idk it's a late night rambling but thanks man, you've really helped me and Im just grateful. Have a great day :)
I really needed this video today. I’m working to get on my school’s dance team. I don’t have enough money to pay for lessons, I haven’t practicing for long, and I’m generally at a disadvantage compared to everyone else. I’m kind of scared to tryout this year, since one of my friends tried out last year, and didn’t make it, but her turns are amazing. Turns are my weakest point, and i’m sure my technique is awful, but if all of Haikyuu has taught me one thing, it’s that eating right, and practicing, and remembering that it’s okay to take breaks? That’s still dance. Watching as my friends get better and better at things I still can’t do well? That’s still dance, because eventually, i’ll get there. Right now, I just need to keep working hard, and do the best i can with what i have, because when you think about it, it’s not bad to be a self-taught dancer. It just gives me a little challenge. And i love a challenge.
Very relatable and also very much in line with how I feel about this moment in the anime and in life as well. I hope your new job gets better. Keep up the amazing work !
This is very much me at the moment. I’m 24 and I’m doing a job that I really don’t want to do. I gave up on a dream I had, and I am regretting it immensely… but tbh, I think I learned a lot from the experience, and because of this I’m saving my money now so that I can attempt my dream again. I am feeling like I also am learning skills I can utilize in the future too… I really hope everything lines up, but for now, I’m here for the ride.
Summary: There's always a positive upside to every situation and something to learn and grow from no matter how laughable or pitiful the situation might be. To not have tunnel vision but look at things with a clearer perspective
Just reccently discoverd your channel, but you have gotten yourself a lifetime subscriber. Your videos are amazing, and truly inspires. It's a selfish and unrealistic request to ask a creator to never stop making videos, but at least promise for as long as you do, never change your approach to them. Because this is gold🙌🏻❤️
you went through shit, turned you into a bit of a psycho, made you tougher, and now you can go harder than the others. Mental fortitude goes a long way, and building it aint easy.
Another great video! Sometimes you gotta hit rock bottom to get that boost to go higher, down but still moving forward until the time comes, nice vid 💯
Life has a funny way of testing you to make sure you are worthy of the reward. Some of the most miserable people are those who are handed things without trails because the reward becomes meaningless.
Man. You inspirate me a loot. And in Brazil no one keep a Chanel focuzed on anime and lessons. And im going to become te one like you here. I promisse i wont give UP. You are my inspiration. ❤
Bro, first of all I wish you good luck! Ive been watching/reading this anime for the 3 time now. I will make 1 year i first saw it. Felt like it wasnt for me and left it for 4 days until i got the will to go and start the 2 season (ended up binge watching the rest. Was also the 1 manga i finished). I was a perfect timing and I felt in love with volleyball. Wanted to play so bad but I had a small tumor on my leg so I was still recovering. As soon as i got told I could do sports i got into it and played with the female team just like hinata cause my college is the only one that does not have a male team ( hope that this year i can make one with 3 other friends) I just read the nekoma match today and almost cried for simple things. When sugawara said that he had lost count of how many balls did hinata dig / save. When old ukai extended his hand as the new ukai shaked nekomata senseis hand. Dont know where im going with this but i recommend haikyuu to every person around me. My girlfriend got.me the volume 31 ( kita backstory) i got so much from this series and im grateful. Just loved this. If anyone resd all this: Keep up the good work bro, take it easy and believe in yourself. ❤
Haikyu season 4 frustrates me on some levels, but I do appreciate the character growth. I could see when Hinata started as ball boy where the arc was going; how it forced him into the observer position, the observer of some great players. Like Sugawara being so instrumental in the 2nd Aoba Johsai game by his observations, Hinata gets to learn by watching. And we see him actively trying to learn how to read plays so that he can predict where the ball is going, and this carries over into the start at Nationals where he is trying to gauge the ball's path and has some humorous misses. Some of the other players are laughing at Hinata's mistakes, but Nishinoya recognizes what Hinata is doing and does not discourage Hinata (Nishinoya might encourage him, I do not recall an actual scene or moment in the anime). And later we have some magnificent payoffs to Hinata's hard work (fueled by drive and humility).
Yo I remember first watching you when your barou video came out and I remember you with a lower subscriber count and being one of those "he deserves more" and while watching this I see you already hit 36k. This isn't really related to the video (haikyuu's my favourite fiction though and I did enjoy the video a lot and agree with the rewatching) but I just wanted to say I'm genuinely happy for you and hope you keep going further
Very well put together. Although the anime moment made me pause and reflect for a while, your video made me pause and reflect for longer. Maybe it is that moment in my life, or maybe it's my change of perspective over time. Either way, thank you for effort for this video.
Just what i needed, I rather listen to your videos than music while working out. Thank you so much. Just a suggestion as being someone having English not first language, the air/coughing on mic makes it hard to understand your words unless I'm really really focused or sub are on. So please if you can do something about it would be great. If you can't np, silverlining I need to focused while watching your videos lol. Thanks again
gotta keep it a buck people work hard and have dreams, do their thing everyday but that really doesn't mean your dreams will come true, I think it's pretty rare for someone to get what they want in the end and it's not because they didn't work hard enough or stick to it. I'm an artist, I've dreamed about being something since I was a kid, now I'm 29, all the work I've done it means nothing, I haven't gotten any reward for it, all the years I sacrificed for it and I'm stuck doing manual labor jobs with nothing. To make it all worse I've even lost passion for this and find it hard to just do it everyday out of discipline. lifes not an anime where you just work hard and get rewarded.
HI! I'm a new subscriber to the channel and I really appreciate your content. Having said this, I would like to give my opinion on the subject: it is true that feeling behind is often wrong, because everything arrives at the right time in the right place BUT unfortunately this does not apply in every field... I think. Speaking for myself, I have been training my whole life and only discovered my true dream 3 years ago. the problem? I am currently 26 years old, and already 3 years ago for me... to enter a sport at a competitive level... it was too late. So I am essentially trapped in a life of stalemate, where I will never truly be able to realize my dream.
I spoke about this a bit in my previous video, and whilst true, you might end up surprised at where you are in 5 years and how much what you're going through helped you - I was in a similar situation and it ended up that way
@@LessonsFromAnime Hey, thanks for your very quick response! Right now I'm catching up on your videos, also because I've noticed that you tend to cover topics often related to spokon and being an Italian athlete I find them even more interesting. I really hope that the discipline and commitment I have put in over the years will make sense, also because being told at 23 that you are too "old" to realize your dreams is simply brutal.
1:21 For me and many others though, it was obvious that Tsukishima was picked because of his stellar performance against Shiratorizawa, but i didn't expect it to be held by Washijo
But the thing is as much as tsukishima deserved to go hinata also did. the entire game, the shiratorizawa players were literally pissed and frustrated by hinata thinking of ways to stop him and i 100% believe that washijo would have invited hinata instead if he was taller
@@atlight1977the fact that Washijo didn’t picked Hinata because of his size is the point though. Washijo is basically a desillusioned version of Hinata. He was short and didn’t get picked because of it, despite being above average at everything. And we know at that time Hinata is not average at all, if anything apart from offense he is below average at everything else. When he tells Hinata that without Kageyama he has no value on the court, he’s not being petty or rude, he’s simply right. He aims to push Hinata into realising what every short player in volleyball MUST come to terms with : If you want to be on the court, you have to be beast, at everything, all the time. A tall guy that is average have a shot because he’s tall, we see it happening during that same training session with the tall black guy, he got picked because he is over 2m despite being a newbie at everything. An average short volleyball player doesn’t exist, an above average short player is irrelevant as well. To simply be just considered a choice for the court, you have to be a monster, in volleyball, short guys must force themselves onto the team, and because of Kageyama being Kageyama, Hinata has been sheltered from that reality. Washijo refusing to select him is the first time he is confronted by it, and because of that Hinata was allowed to grow, as a person and as a player.
i watch a lot of motivation podcast and videos... but your work hit mi like this damn "truck" push it forward, i only want u to know... u really help me, and for sure not only me. thanks!
Great stuff man! Absolutely love to see such great Haikyuu videos :) The Ball Boy arc is simply the GOAT.
We've made it bois

Thank you! You too!
Thank you🔥
Summary:
There's always a positive upside to every situation and something to learn and grow from no matter how laughable or pitiful the situation might be. To not have tunnel vision but look at things with a clearer perspective
What a fantastic video! Please keep making more!!
Thank you! Will do!
Just reccently discoverd your channel, but you have gotten yourself a lifetime subscriber. Your videos are amazing, and truly inspires.
It's a selfish and unrealistic request to ask a creator to never stop making videos, but at least promise for as long as you do, never change your approach to them. Because this is gold🙌🏻❤️
love this, i had similar resolutions while watching Haikyuu as well. Keep it up!
As usual, your videos always hit in the exact place I need the support. Thank you!
Happy to help!
Another excellent video. This channel is a beast in hiding. Catching the growth at 35K to what it will be in the future will be something special
Much appreciated!
Insightful as Always!! Thanks 🏆👀🐐🏐💪🏼🇮🇹
Bravo Brother. Your Videos are fire and I really like watching them. Hats Off to the efforts you put in for such Quality Content.
Glad you like them!
Such a needed and valuable video. thank you and please keep it up
Thank you! Will do!
you went through shit, turned you into a bit of a psycho, made you tougher, and now you can go harder than the others. Mental fortitude goes a long way, and building it aint easy.
Another great video! Sometimes you gotta hit rock bottom to get that boost to go higher, down but still moving forward until the time comes, nice vid 💯
beautiful msg fr i relate to this sm rn 🥲
What a message 💯 slaps so hard
Life has a funny way of testing you to make sure you are worthy of the reward. Some of the most miserable people are those who are handed things without trails because the reward becomes meaningless.
Man. You inspirate me a loot. And in Brazil no one keep a Chanel focuzed on anime and lessons. And im going to become te one like you here. I promisse i wont give UP. You are my inspiration. ❤
Go for it!
Loved the video . Great one
I have learned so many things becuz of haikyu
I love your videos so much ❤😊
Thanks!
As soon as i got told I could do sports i got into it and played with the female team just like hinata cause my college is the only one that does not have a male team ( hope that this year i can make one with 3 other friends)
I just read the nekoma match today and almost cried for simple things.
I needed this. Thank you.
Man this kinds happened like today while i was rewatching blue lock about becoming someone im not scene
Very well put together. Although the anime moment made me pause and reflect for a while, your video made me pause and reflect for longer. Maybe it is that moment in my life, or maybe it's my change of perspective over time. Either way, thank you for effort for this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That video was very beneficial to me, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I'll give Haikyuu a shot
Inspiring message coach. I'm tryna be like you when I grow up
Cheers bro! That means a lot
Oh I didn't realise there was coughing lol, will look into it
thx bro, i needed that...
gotta keep it a buck people work hard and have dreams, do their thing everyday but that really doesn't mean your dreams will come true, I think it's pretty rare for someone to get what they want in the end and it's not because they didn't work hard enough or stick to it.
Awesome
Yesssss ❤
Id love to hear what you have to say about blue period!! Great video
Can't say I've seen it tbh, I do have a lot of other different animes planned though
this video might make me watch Haikyuu
Do it!
Thank you🔥
You're welcome!
Consistency matters👍
Thanks you, you made a great video
Glad you liked it!
It's time for the next stage of youtubing,
Step 1 Marketing
step 2 UA-cam psychology
Step 3 Plz talk about mangas

For me and many others though, it was obvious that Tsukishima was picked because of his stellar performance against Shiratorizawa, but i didn't expect it to be held by Washijo
But the thing is as much as tsukishima deserved to go hinata also did. the entire game, the shiratorizawa players were literally pissed and frustrated by hinata thinking of ways to stop him and i 100% believe that washijo would have invited hinata instead if he was taller
@@atlight1977 true
@@atlight1977the fact that Washijo didn’t picked Hinata because of his size is the point though.
Washijo is basically a desillusioned version of Hinata. He was short and didn’t get picked because of it, despite being above average at everything. And we know at that time Hinata is not average at all, if anything apart from offense he is below average at everything else.
When he tells Hinata that without Kageyama he has no value on the court, he’s not being petty or rude, he’s simply right. He aims to push Hinata into realising what every short player in volleyball MUST come to terms with :
If you want to be on the court, you have to be beast, at everything, all the time.
Washijo refusing to select him is the first time he is confronted by it, and because of that Hinata was allowed to grow, as a person and as a player.
i watch a lot of motivation podcast and videos... but your work hit mi like this damn "truck" push it forward, i only want u to know... u really help me, and for sure not only me. thanks!
