- 1. 1 My Savior God is all my light,
Whom shall I fear beside Him?
The LORD is strength, and life and sight,
I cannot fear beside Him.
2 And when my foes
Would eat my flesh,
In pride those foes have stumbled.
Their hatred grows,
Their traps are mesh,
But headlong they have tumbled.
2. 3 Though armies camp around me here
My heart shall never tremble.
Though wars arise, I will not fear,
His graces I assemble.
4 I seek one thing:
The house of God,
That I may see His beauty.
And I will sing
My praise to God,
With holiness my duty.
3. 5 In times of trouble I will seek
To hide in His pavilion.
He sets me on a mountain peak,
My God protects His children.
6 And so my head
Is lifted up,
My enemies will suffer.
With joy my bread,
With praise my cup,
My worship I will offer.
4. 7 O LORD my God, please hear with grace,
Attend my fervent crying.
8 As You said, I will seek Your face,
You save my soul from dying.
9 Turn not Your face
Away from me,
Nor turn away in anger.
Extend Your grace
So I might see;
And save me from all danger.
5. 10 My father and my mother flee,
Yet still the LORD will save me.
11 Teach me, O God, that I may see
The path of life You gave me.
12 With cruel breath
My foes arise,
Full hatred they encourage.
Spare me from death,
And from their lies.
14 Wait on the LORD with courage.
