Love John for bringing up Seattle having runners up for rookies of the year two years in a row but for some reason those media awards never come up to the PNW
Another reminder that these young QB’s are not a guarantee, especially with these teams that are extremely challenged, like The Panthers and Bryce Young 👍🏽
@@gabrieljohnson4213 We’ll never know 🤷🏽♂️😄… And there are still a lot of questions Richardson has to answer as a passer, in addition to future durability if they continue to run him 👍🏽
. Overall, I think this the best interview so far of John Schneider. They asked him direct questions there as been so much speculation about-Drew, Geno, when he knew Pete’s job was on the line, etc.
@@banksta3unless he gets back to being in the 190-200lbs range. They better get him juiced up, then he'll be absolutely terrifying to opposing receivers and runningbacks.
@8:27 Chris Simms is either not paying attention or isn't understanding that John Schneider is saying it's difficult to win awards in Seattle compared to the lesser Jets players in '22 winning both DPOY and ROTY...
So far, JS has had a great offseason. But that's what it is: an offseason. Let's see how the regular season goes before we start building JS a statue. I know PC had a heavy hand in personnel during his tenure, but JS was right there with the almost decade-straight of bad drafts and worse trades. I am excited about what I'm seeing so far, but I can't suddenly overlook how poorly this team has been constructed, the last two drafts aside. Can't wait to find out if PC was handcuffing JS all this time, or actually carrying him. Go Hawks!
Makes sense, the team was frustrating to watch this season. Lots of potential not being tapped. Coaches for underperforming teams always get the boot, and pete's age didn't help. We needed a breath of fresh air in seattle, and I think we got it in Mike.
In an interview a couple weeks ago, John said he continually maintains a list of potential head coaches, just so that he's always prepared for this eventuality.
They had to keep an eye out for years in case Pete retired - John said this in a local Seattle interview. But also it became obvious during the season that this team with all its talent was not prepared for games and got their doors blown off by better coached teams. Never knew which Hawks team would show up from week to week.
He's 72. He was plugged in for a long time. I'm sure it's hard but I think it's time for him to let go and just enjoy his retirement. We can all see now that loss to the Ravens and, worse, that loss to the Steelers sealed his fate. It's not some big secret, anyone could watch those games on network television.
Pete got a long run, but he got too close to keeping coordinators that were subpar. The NYG trade was asinine. And just a boring predictable offense and defense. Failure to finish in Cincinnati game, Rams opener, getting walked by division. Every coach gets ultimately fired, see Bill B for reference.
JS talks like he wasn’t part of the issues over the last few years. Yea Pete was head coach but JS has been part of many big decisions and drafting. It’s all on him now, there’s no blaming Pete. I’m hopeful, we will see what happens.
The Hawks are 2 maybe 3 seasons away from being at the competitive at the level necessary win the division-nfc play off games-and a possible trip to the Superbowl-they are highly inconsistant on both sides of the ball-firing Pete was a needed move-his ultra positive attitude had become a form of denial-I hope McDonald is a big part of the answer-GO HAWKS
His attitude wasn't much of a problem. It was his outdated scheme that he didn't adapt, in order to counter Mcvay and Shanahan's offensive scheme. I can't bear to watch a team that does something that doesn't bring success, just to do it over again, instead of adjusting. This new staff is the exact opposite of that. Both Mike and Grubb are very adaptable coaches.
"We were almost a little bit late and they had to go through the DEI thing"...geezus fing christ! A very diplomatic response for the s*it he has to deal with. What a waste of time, effort and resources to deal with this BULLSH!T! Enough already.
so happy about John getting young creative coaches. Pete was old school and old school fool with hype just does not work in today's game. Its no longer smash mouth football. Its smart creative plays that win
Was there anything to take away from this other than Schneider is a clown? He handled this off-season and the last few terribly, and still has a job because he played a corporate game to save himself by using Pete as a scapegoat. Seattle deserves better than this guy and Jodie
I quit rooting for Seattle after that dumb walkoff interception in the Superbowl. I'll never forgive Carroll or his OC Darrell Bevell for that. I can finally root for my home team again, yay. Except for one thing - while I was bereft of a team I became a diehard Rams fans, so it'll be tough when they play each other
That's hella weird, why would you migrate to another team in the division? During down years I would find other teams to root for too, but I chose the Browns and the Bills, b/c I could never root for any other team in the division, unless they're in the Superbowl, b/c then they'll hopefully have a bad hangover, like the Rams did for a year.
Fair weather fan. Been NYG fan since 1963 - far more losing seasons than winning seasons-but still always my team- part of my big dysfunctional family!
I am not a fan of Pete Carroll. It had nothing to do with Seattle. At any rate, I don't live in Washington and was in fact a Detroit fan when that happened. Talk about long- suffering fans, OMG! Now I can be happy for my Lions, my Rams, and the Seahawks and 49ers all at the same time, and of course America's Team, the KC Chiefs !!!!
NBC Chris Simms is not fit for this job. Time and time again this is just cringe, the social skills and professionalism as a host is just awful to watch every single time. And the football analysis is consistently terrible and ignorant.
I have concerns about Mike MacDonald. Bmore has always had great defenses for the last 25 years. Whether it’s Marvin Lewis or Rex Ryan, they never drop a beat when they lost their DC. It makes me wonder if Mike MacDonald is a great coach or was in a great system at Bmore. I guess time will tell.
I would argue they have had a great defense because of guys like Ed Reed, Suggs and Ray Lewis. The year before Macdonald came to be DC they were bottom 10. They’ve been top 10 since he got there. Last year they had the best defense in the league (by a number of metrics including points) while having just above average roster talent. There edge rushers were Jadeveon Clowney and Kyle Van Noy and they led the league in sacks. That’s why I’m really excited for him to be here in Seattle.
