    I’ve had an uncanny experience with this saint over the last few days.
    I visited her cell in Lima ten years ago- aside from my son and his Grandpa; we were the only visitors. It was a profound experience - the place was imbued with a palpable ambiance of Love.
    I remember seeing her large cross -the one she would carry in penance -
    One of the most striking aspects of this visit was that the day before we had visited pyramids outside the city; pre - Christian - I was struck by the aura of desolation and gloom that hung over the site. I felt the deep sadness and loss that hung over the site . I asked a guide ‘ Did human sacrifice take place here ?’ He grimly nodded.
    Then at St Rose’s the next day; the light, love and joy that permeated her home ( hermitage ? I’m not sure what to call it) was in absolute start contrast to the pyramids where sacrifice of others’ took place.
    Here; she sacrificed her self daily, in deep mortification ; for others.
    The supernatural love and the miracles is proof of God’s eternal Love.
    Note:
    I had fallen away from Mass and prayer the last year or so… with of course; unhappy results.
    I went back to Confession and Mass Sunday - feast of St Augustine-
    Then yesterday I picked up my statue of Rose of Lima that I had bought years ago on the visit to her.
    I repaired it; and gave it a place of honour. Last night I prayed fervently to her for aid.
    Today I again went to confession; as sin was still attacking.
    In confession I mentioned I had a devotion to St Rose of Lima.
    After absolution I prayed, and on the drive home with my son I talked a lot about St Rose of Lima .
    Her sacrifice; her miracles, our visit when he was an infant -
    Then, coming home I turned on UA-cam and I saw ‘St Rose of Lima- August 30’
    I had no idea it was her feast Day, and until yesterday, when I noticed her statue needed repairing, I haven’t thought about her at all in a long time.
    God and His Saints are real !
    Gracias Santa Rose de Lima;
    Ruega por nosotros !

    If you have a daily devotion to Saint Rose, you may know the college in Albany NY was closed because of a corrupt college president (maybe a racist). Please pray to God by Saint Rose's intercession someone will help me get back home to the Anthracite Region of Pennsylvania to pray in a Ukrainian Catholic church before October 12, 2024. I cannot stand being forced to live in the most militarized region of Pennsylvania anymore! There should be no military bases in PENNsylvania! William Penn was a QUAKER!!!

    If God is prolife, why did he drown the children and pregnant woman in the time of Noah?

    • @theclassicaldiscourse
      @theclassicaldiscourse  2 роки тому +1

      Not sure how that's related to the video, however -
      I'll provide a point why your argument fails. First off, it's God who is taking life - the creator of life itself. There is nothing evil with God causing your death because He's the one of who gave you life. However, it does not follow that it is alright for YOU to kill your neighbhour.
      If it is said that it is immoral for God to take away life - one would have to show why. Death is merely a sepration of body and soul. Death caused by us - however - is contrary to the moral law because we as humans have, as one of our final ends, the duty to preserve the human race. Murder is directly opposed to that, therefore, MAN cannot commit murder.
      God is not man. God does not have the same final ends as man.

      How about why humans are so evil to sin and kill each other? Don't you think God should punish some of those dirty souls?

      That's literally what hell is (partly) about.

    • @wayfinderofficial
      @wayfinderofficial 2 місяці тому

      @@hiuszenoom809 I understand it is tough to see the bigger picture when we are right in the midst of evil. Many times I asked myself the same question.
      But their judgement will come, as God Himself says "Vengeance is mine (His)" (Romans 12:19-21), often God will give many chances to people to turn back and repent from their evil ways. He does not damn anyone at the first instance of them sinning. But just as He is merciful, He is also truly just, meaning that He will indeed deliver a person over to whatever their heart most desired/treasured on earth and during their lifetime. If they desired God and sanctity, they are invited to heaven to dwell with God forever in eternal life. However, if all they desired was themselves/ego and pushed God away, then that is what God permits - that they dwell in a place where He is totally absent (i.e. hell). Because God is goodness and light, a place without any trace of God will be the complete opposite - evil and darkness. But then again, as I mentioned earlier, God doesn't want that anyone go there, so He gives everyone multiple opportunities to have a change of heart.

    I don't recall Jesus ever curing someone and then advising them to go home and beat threir head against the wall or starve themselves. It seems these "saints" thought up new ways to make their lives miserable.......hairshirts.......crown of thorns....
    wearing sharp chains around their waistline or arms. I'm a life-long, proud practicing Catholic. But this sort of self-abuse in the
    pursuit of holiness just sounds masochistic.....self-destructive. No matter so many of them died young. I often wonder how many
    of our "saints" in past centuries were truly holy, but also mentally ill?

    • @theclassicaldiscourse
      @theclassicaldiscourse  2 роки тому +3

      I think it's worthwhile to note that the saints suffered out of love - for a greater good. Their suffering, althoug self-inflicted, had a greater purpose: the saving of souls or transformation of lives. I wouldn't call them mentally-ill for doing so, but rather having a burning desire to partake in the sufferings of Christ. Jesus himself suffered. Think of it this way: If your son or daughter were about to be killed and the only way to save them were to flog yourself 100 times, wouldn't you do it?
      Now, think about it as sacrifices we make, but just on a greater level. We fast, don't we? We abstain from meat, don't we? The reason is to not only help ourselves detach us from our worldy desires but it can also be used as a means to save souls. Jesus himself suffered a lot to save souls and the saints wanted to partake in that same suffering, as followers of Christ.
      "No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." (John 15:13)

      A lot of religions support that kind of practice, and totally fine. Buddhist monks only eat two meals and are all vegetarians.
      If humans can't even discipline to cut off some earthly desire for a higher level of soul, then the only way is to go down to the lower level of life after death.
