Don't sweat it. I don't hear any great technical challenges. Few, if any, multiple stops, and I don't think it goes over 2nd position., at least not for long stretches.

If this could interest anyone I have recently published a new critical edition of this marvellous piece, for the first time with an Urtext of the full score, two newly engraved cello parts, one of which annotated by M° Marcio Carneiro (BRA, Tchaikovsky prizewinner 1978) and a new completely rearranged version for cello and string orchestra (actually cello, string quintet and strings!). I don't want this to be just a shameless plug so I will post a link to this if the video owner will allow it. Thank you!

Cholera was another frequent killer during the romantic era given the overwhelmingly bad water supplies (think of Tchaikovsky's demise). These health problems grew more acute as industrialism gave rise to larger cities and more people crowded together. Much as I believe music of the romantic era to be the best ever written, still I wouldn't want to have lived back then.

Thanks. Even then though the rythym is still quite different and all the long slurs and sharps and stuff are sorta hard
