As a dogo owner I can say 💯 to this interview. If you don’t have experience with these type of dogs or don’t want to put in the time then stay away. You will end up ruining the dog or giving it away cause you can’t handle it.

Presa canario is my favorite breed to date. Training is a must. They pick their human and it’s a wrap. They have a weird seperation anxiety. They need to be next to their human. Very confident and calm when exercised daily

My Presa chose me out of the pack. The runt but first one that ran to me (even though I was already interested in him but he never met me yet). He's very independent though. Not clingy but he's still my sidekick. PRESA GANG!

Dang, these dogos are legendary, I remember reading up about morocho years ago, & I live in Australia. So just tells you how famous this line really is.
Everyone talking about the Alpha comment but I think the key point that was made is TIME. Yes you must be alpha but if you don't put in the time doesn't matter how alpha you are.

Morocho was not the first Dogo created. They’re from La Cocha bloodline from Cordoba, Argentina. I have a Dogo Argentino from Argentina and communicate with Dr. Martínez’s grandson, Dr. Nores, often.

Presa ❤ Been in my Family for years. Currently have a Female at 10 months 105 lbs.
The father is 135 lbs. Mother 140 lbs. We've had both male and females. They pick you out. Presa are no Joke . Dogo are Formative as well. These type of Dogs are Serious Business but Lovable if Socailized. Both Breeds are on a Different level.

On the topic of alpha dogs that I see often in comment sections around videos about these breeds: Stubborn, dominant, territorial, strong-willed male dogs can still be trained to be confident and calm around other male dogs. If you think your dog is an alpha, it is. And if he's the alpha, what's that make you? Any Presa, Corso, pitbull, Kangal, Alabai, or any other big capable breed can be trained to be submissive to its people if the right parameters are created in the dogs experience. If you aren't the alpha, don't get these dogs. It's that simple.

He's right. Those dogs need an alpha bc they are powerful. That's why I didn't get one as my first dog. I'm in 5 years of research bc I will eventually get one. Right now I'm raising a 1year old German Shepard Pitt.
5 years. 😂 It doesn’t take that long to research. Just get online, call some breeders and maybe take a trip to see them up close and personal. If it’s taking you that long and you only have a German Shepard, this breed may not be for you.

For those leaning towards either of these breeds…your best bet is likely a Corso. My presa knows her place in the pack…but this breed is super strong willed and independent. A mentality where they’d prefer to ask for forgiveness instead of permission lol

I have a female Dogo. She's going on 7 months. I rescued her from my neighbor when she was 16 wks. He kept her trapped up in a hot fithy feces/urine garage. Her ribs were exposed and nervous. She's a house pup now, who loves playing in the gardens in the yard and running laps... We have a 7 yr old rescue Pekingese mix with Chow we think who doesn't like the fact She's a part of the family now. Our Dogo China however, tries to play with him every second of the day. But he's not having it. Sad. I take them both literally everywhere everywhere I go. For the past 2 wks, China is starting to bark at people while in the car and at restaurants. She's really starting to get pretty tall and her barks are strong. Very muscular and strong. We've taught her basic commands and is potty trained. I'm a 24 hr dog mom . Husband is very into them as well. Now, she's becoming stubborn when commanded to seize barking at other dogs except at the dog parks where she's a social butterfly with dogs of all sizes. We are now looking for a trainer who knows this type of breed. She is our 1st ever big breed. Didn't plan on another furbaby. But I couldn't stand how she was mistreated and rescued her by paying for her and pouring love on her. She's a healthy 46 pound tail wagging loving girl. But she's becoming a bit beside herself. Any advice on trainers in the Dallas area?

My Female Dogo Argentino is a big girl. She's 115 and my Presa male is 145.
Both Dogs are tough to raise. My Presa male is a big alpha that's always on guard. Very tough breed. Both breeds aren't for beginners

Man did not explain game at all ,, ask a real dog man what game means he’ll tell you , the APBT is game … gameness is the will to keep going and keep fighting under extreme conditions especially when not in the dogs favor & NOT QUITTING to be GAME is to not QUIT under any circumstances.. like the APBT .. many game dogs have been okay around cats animals and other smaller dogs .. gameness has nothing to do with aggression or prey drive. See people don't understand that tho. Just like apbt, staffy and bull terrier are all game dogs. Dogo was breed for the pack. Game dogs are pit dogs. There are 3 that fall into that category. Mastiff breeds don't fall into that category

Those are awsome dogos, i wanted one so bad but i live in upstae maine now, way to cold for this bred plus i dont hunt with dogs except if go bird , squirrel, rabit hunting, i have a dog for that. But he not protective at all. So im looking for guard dog. That can handle cold weather when im out working . Thx

His father was imported from Argentina and the breeder is based in Texas also. He is such a cuddler at night but when its time to work boy I dont even have to tell you. They are from the original and superior bloodline. Salute from phoenix Arizona.
@@la_joya_presa_club i dont really care for the Show lines they dont even really look like Dogos to me besides the color. They are too stocky and big boned. But definitely to different dogs in drive, bone structure, and health. A Dogo is a really badass mutt (in a round about way) it took 9 breeds to create this beautiful family Protecter and hunter. My Voodoo has this look in his eyes like he has seen and done it all. Soo prestigious

I have a two year old Dogo and there is no love ive ever experienced compared to a Dogo but my man is very correct you have to be an alpha and they need A LOT of exercise but well worth it
They are also very unbelievably smart animals mine know i only can be stopped by my wife and runs to her whenever he doesnt want to do something (even thought it never works) lol

Get a small dog, do not start with a large breed or a dog that needs has plenty of energy. Get a English Bulldog or Boxer
You do a bunch of research on the breeds that interest you, and then you make an educated decision.
The size of a dog is just one of the things that needs to be taken into consideration, not the deciding factor.
I would recommend a 60-pound Boxer before I'd recommend a 16-pound jagdterrier.
There are some breeds that the majority of people shouldn't own, and size usually isn't the reason why.
