That's fantastic, and if the videos helped that is great. Keep learning, don't let what you know go stale on you. It's a great trade to be in, its taken me all over the world. Dave.
Thanks again for the video. I understood the Appendix 3 Time/Current graphs but the explanation of the tables 41.2 - 41.4 was a great help. As a learner I'm still using 17th edition tables and my table 41.2 for BS3036 type fuses only goes up to 30 Amps (Question 8). Am I correct or have I got the answer to this one wrong?
Glad you are finding them useful. The answer is as shown in the video. Answer B 0.4 ohms. If you are still using 17th Edition you will have trouble finding some answers BUT --- Don't buy an 18th Edition (the blue book) just yet as Amendment 2 will be issued in a couple of months. save your money and buy the new book when it comes out. Thanks for your outstanding support for the channel - appreciated. Dave.
Hi Dave, im going through the 18th edition training materials from NAPIT along with your video's, with the new Amendment coming out do/would you think it be best to hold back in booking the exam because it might include some questions on the new amendment and also would this be a more up-to-date version of the qualification?
Marc, good questions. If you already have the 18th Edition book (the blue one) then I would do the exam asap if you are confident in what you know. If you wait until after amendment 2 you will need a new book and nobody knows in detail what the changes are and what the exam questions will be. Even after Amendment 2 is released, there will be a short period where the old exam is still taken, just long enough for them to write new questions. It should make no difference to an employer etc. which 18th you take. It is assumed that if you have the intelligence to pass the exam as it is now, then you should have no trouble in understanding and incorporating the new changes into your everyday work-life. So yes, go for it now if you feel up to it. And good luck, let us know how you do. Dave.
You need BS7671 18th Edition (blue book) BUT HOLD ON. A new amendment is being issued in the next month or so, you may want to hold on for that unless you are taking your exam in the next few weeks. Amazon is a good place to buy from. The on-site guide is a good information book and very useful. Dave

It is correct. Table 41.1 says must be less than 0.4 seconds. Fig 3A4 and Fig 3A5 say between 0.1 and 5 seconds, so 0.4 falls nicely in the middle. You sometimes have to look in two places in the Regs. Thanks for watching. Dave.
These videos are great👍🏻.
Thanks Dibbo. That's great feedback and really appreciated. Dave.

question 7 is not correct, you stated less than 0.4 sec, when it says in the bs book 0.1 - 5 secs
It is correct. Table 41.1 says must be less than 0.4 seconds.
