Thank you for uploading this, it’s giving me the courage to work on my pathfinder. I really appreciate you showing the whole process and not just the quick fix.
I absolutely cannot thank you enough! My dad's 1993 Nissan D21 tachometer died probably right about the time the factory warranty expired. It's been broken ever since. I took it apart and performed the same test that you did on yours, pressing on the circuit board. Sure enough, it starts working when you push on the upper right corner. I reflowed the joints in that corner, for the two diodes and the capacitor. That did not work. Then I reflowed all the microchip joints, and it works great now. Thank you!
your video is giving me inspiration on how to fix my 2004 Pathfinder fuel gauge needle goes up to full, then stops at 1/2 a tank when its actually empty. No ones been able to fix it. Shops have changed my fuel pump, and my cluster. See your video gave me some good clues on how to check the wiring. Thanks brother
These are tanks. Better than the 4runner of the same era IMO... They had very little problems other than the usual old car issues. I've owned 3 of them and put hundreds of thousands of trouble free miles on them all. Great on the trails too.
Awesome vid man, in my searches I have found that that tachometer motor and circuit peice is the same in s14 240sx, 92-94 maximas and fd rx7s. Of course 94-95 pathfinders
46:42 One of those clips on the glass that holds the sunshade is broken on mine. I think I can find new ones, but I don't know how to remove the old clips. Do you or anyone else here know how?
@@ProjectTimeGarage Thanks for responding! Yeah, I mean those hooks that go through the glass. I've looked for screws but I couldn't find any on either side. It seems like a solid piece of plastic. Is there a cap hiding the screw, or do yo think I have to twist the whole hook to screw it off?
Is their a link to the wiring diagram you used, I picked up a first Gen. pathfinder with a bunch of loose wires. Am thinking about doing all the wiring myself
My 92 SE came with the wing. I actually broke it completely off and went to the junkyard and got another one. All you need is the brackets that hold the window and wing.
Hey man love your videos ! I have 11/91 sold 92 pathfinder. Recently I started experiencing that the door locks work when they feel like it. No big deal. My main problem is that my heater doesn’t blow warm. I can’t seem to find anything on heater system specially on this model that apparently they went to an electrical version instead of manual cable driven. Would I have to rip the dash out to access the heater valve ? Thanks
@@ProjectTimeGarage I wish it was but unfortunately the valve is inside the hvac box inside the dash. I searched and searched and all I found if that answer. I appreciate you getting back to me though.
Hey man, I have a wd21 too with the fuel gauge acting up, might try what you did, by the way, these trucks have a weird ABS system that they have a speed sensor mounted on the differential in front of the pinion seal and that thing mounted on the frame with both brake lines attached do it, that's actually your ABS modulator, it only decreases pressure to your rear brakes, and by the way, no ABS on the front, you can find your ABS module under the driver's seat
@@ProjectTimeGarage anytime, by the way, you have an SE Pathfinder, if there's such a thing as a holy grail Pathfinder, you have it, rear disc brakes which are fairly rare, sunroof also fairly rare, and the rear shocks are a big one because you have the optional adjustable suspension, and I believe no one makes those anymore.
Thanks for the video! I just picked up at 95 se, manual trans. First things on my fixit list is repairing the odometer (the rest of the cluster works), replace sunroof gasket, new CVs, change fluids, adress a couple leaks and get my dang tire carrier to fully lock in so the light goes off 😂 New to Nissan & 4x4 maintenace/repair so any tips would be much appreciated 😁 The dream is to get it reliable enough for trips to the mountains, where she belongs! Cheers, nissan peeps
My tach for rpms stopped working after I got it inspected 1997 pathfinder. It jumped all over the place then stopped. I thought maybe a fuse but I don’t know wich one. They do emissions test here I’m wondering if they hit a certain wire? It’s got 266k miles , thanks
Love all the work youve done to the car man, i have one myself bought it from new, but has less features compared to yours (sun roof, abs) i have the top trim in my country and it only has a 2.4 engine, the engine is as durable as it gets but just doesnt have a lot of juice to it..extremely lousy. Thinking of swaping engines but theres just not a lot of option where i come from. Had issues with the gauges over time as well, had to resolder everything in mine and it works just fine. Keep up the work man, apprexiate it
Good friend, I have a problem that I don't get a signal of the rpm and I don't know where to start, I have a vg30 95 Nissan Pathfinder v6 engine, I don't know if you can help me and I sent the dashboard clock to be checked and it is operational. I need your help
There is a wire that goes from the tach out to the coil under the hood. That's where I would start. You can get a factory service manual for free on most of the Pathfinder forums.
My 92 pathy XE has the spoiler. I see them with spoilers quite a bit where I am. Maybe a regional package like a “California package” had them more? I dunno
Hello, I love this project because I have a similar truck, and I have been guided to put original things that mine did not have, now the question is, can you share the link of the schematic?
currently taking mine apart but have some questions for you or anyone able to awnser. Ok so my 95 pathys fuel gauge works accurately when its warm season. when its cold it doesn't pic up a reading. is yours as temperamental as this? ive looked all over the internet and aint finding anything.
I would diagnose it by taking the fuel sending unit wire at the tank and grounding it straight to the frame/body. If the fuel gauge shoots up, then it's a sender problem in the tank. But if the gauge doesn't go up, then it's likely a gauge issue.
The main purpose of the rear wing is to keep dirt/dust/snow off the rear glass. Without it everything curls around with the wind and lands on the rear of the pathfinder.
I was told the rear wing creates force at high speeds to stabilize rear end, pushing down. But then there's like 150lbs. Of tailgate with a tire to compensate. It's truly a mystery
Please keep making videos on the first gen paths. I appreciate them
More to come!

Where did you get the schematics with the wire colours on the computer? Thanks in advance from the Westcoast of 🇨🇦.
I use Alldata. It's a subscription service and it rocks.

If you mean the ones that go throught the glass, I "think" they unscrew. Basically the bottom part is screwed into the top part I think.

Possible to make a video on the fuel pump?
My fuel pump was actually good, but it's super-simple to change out.
That's a beautiful truck! 😍
Thank you!
excellent content. my 94 tacoma speedometer stopped working. wish I have half of your skill to get it going.
Thanks!
Hi there Any Idea where I can find the window weather strip for the rear passenger side doors, I can’t find them anywhere
No, I looked everywhere I could think of. No luck.
In adel ga a fela has a wing complete and still installed for sale.
Is it on Marketplace?
@@ProjectTimeGarage yes syco simmons / syco slab and custom works. Pm me for the address.

Not sure, but I think some of the Pathfinder sites list the whole service manual for free. In my case, It's an AllData subscription.
My 89 SE had the wing, but my 92 SE does not. Super hard to find.
I'm finding that out firsthand

@@ProjectTimeGarage I wish it was but unfortunately the valve is inside the hvac box inside the dash. I searched and searched and all I found if that answer. I appreciate you getting back to me though.

Rear Wing directs airflow onto the back glass and down to try and keep it clean from rain and debris.
Awesome, thanks for the info!
Thanks for this video! unfortunately on mine looks that the fuel gauge problem is related with the gas floater apparently
Well, at least Nissan was forward-thinking enough to give you an access panel in the trunk floor. Makes it pretty easy to change out.
