All my other OD pedals start off to muddy and dark , the Joyo Acetone plays great chords at moderate OD gain settings and is as chirpy and bright as you want ! You pick hard and the notes fatten up with great sustain ! These Joyo pedals let you play rythym or lead at the same setting depending on how hard you pick or slap the chords out ! I love the glass slide tone i get with HB pickups ! Joyo hit a home run with these pedals !
I have all of their preamp pedals and they're an outstanding value. Too bad you didn't add the Joyo Ultimate Drive and Deluxe Crunchbox, which are two of their best pedals.
If its one of the older versions of the Voodoo octave it came with 2 capacitors that were installed backwards C9 and C15. if you are handy with a soldering iron desolder turn round those 2 caps and the ocillating noise goes away and also the octave up is a bit more prenounced. It's a dead on copy of the old Foxx tone machine from the early 70s when the mod is done .
So it's only the older versions? That's so interesting and it makes sense, 'cos I bought a Voodoo Octave a year and a half ago and thought it was great, then I started seeing all this stuff about how it was put together wrong. But mine never had that oscillating noise anyway so I could never work out what was supposed to be wrong with the thing. I've since bought a Pigtone fuzz (also a Foxx clone) which sounds virtually identical to the Joyo, only without the mid-cut option. Thanks for answering a question that has been bugging me for ages.
just bought two Joyo Am Sounds brannew for 24€s each! great variable stratty tones with my Yamaha Pacifica 112Vs! I use to have them bout 10 years ago so some circles closing i guess, as older my ears dont want screechin trebles, but rather more mellow jazzy sensitive stuff, Ive got jems like TC El Mojo Mojo and SD Pickup Booster( for humbuck tone!!!), and I prefer solid state amps, so pedals may be alittle on the dark side... Cheerios Amigos, K : )
Dude please, could you consider doing an individual video for the ac tone and the california like the american and the british, you Just sold me the hole bunch
I would say at the end of the distortion/overdrive part of your board. Then, this pedal acts more as a touch sensitive preamp channel where the other drives push it. The circuit of these are made to mimic that of a tube amp in that they are responsive. So pushing it with a drive in front of it makes more sense than using it to push other signals.
What's up with that insane raygun sound on the voodoo octave? Is that just interference from a bad setup, or does it always sound like that? By "raygun" I mean that oscillating feedback noise in the background.
The Dyna Compressor is junk. I own the American Sound, AC Tone, and British Sound and they are all great preamps. But the Dyna Compressor just doesn't work very well. I ditched it and got a Keeley Compressor Plus. Worth every penny.

Actone, American and California Joyo pedals are all amazing direct into recording interface. The EQ sweep does so much. Nice review, thanks

Great Demo Bruh !!! You are The Man Dawwgg !! Thanx a Mil For Upload :) :) (y)
Welcome!
Well, they sound very good, imo.
Nice review..great playing!
My favourite is the Califsoundornia
The California is a "darker" sounding pedal (similar to Boogies). I always have to roll off the bass on mine to get a nice sound that stands out.
Yes, that must be the secret, because I feel like when I try to set the bass at noon or a little lower it just gets to dark.
Nice one, great demos man.
Thanks Tim!
Great Videos 😀😀😀

Wish I had more time... or I would.
*YOU FORGOT TO MENTION THAT 500 SERIES GATE YOU ARE GOING THROUGH!* and while you are at it, tell us about that JOEMEEK PREAMP.
Was actually going through the Focusrite ISA One
*That noise is your power supply and cables NOT the pedals.*
False
Great playing and great video. Have you tried the Joyo British pedal and if so what do you think of it?

It's just noisy pedal.
