I’ve been waiting for this project. I’ve got two gearboxes that need looking at one jumps out of second on overrun. And one jumps out of third on overrun. Thanks for all your videos very educational. And happy new year to all

Thanks Perry - how is this gearbox going to be used? One of the gears is not too good - I can send you a parts list - I have nothing here

That’s the fairy overdrive but that replaces the drive gear. He’s pulled the overdrive off leaving the drive spline behind.

Ah, the disclaimer! Getting the hang of the two camera set up👍. Must take a wee bit longer to edit though. Parcel shouldn't be long.

Took me 2 hours to edit a 50-min video!
However, I am learning by my mistakes!
Each camera recorded 14Gb - but in 4gb files - so it is easy to lose synchronizing - next time join all the small files together and THEN edit!

That oil filler thing on top cover of the gearbox is earlier than S3. Should just have a breather staked into the casting there

Someone beat me to it it’s an overdrive. Know I went to Land Rover main dealership and asked for the spanner for the big nut on main drive .The gentlemen behind the counter made me feel like an utter prat. His words ……WHAT DO YOU THINK PEOPLE USE ?err a spanner I said DONT BE A .won’t right what he said sounds like ducking prat.USE A HAMMER AND COLD CHISEL.! This was back in the 80s I know have a smile so big thank you remembering the good old days. Only thing I can say as a bit of a tip ,is to replace the ball bearings and springs on the gear selector .If I had done it it would have saved me a lot of bother.hope to see more part to this .

The problem with hammering is you can damage the bearing - let's see what JP can make!

The disclaimer at the start of the video tells me someone is giving you a hard time. It's a pity if it's so, but unfortunately they are everywhere these days.
Happy New year Mike and thanks again for the great videos you make.
