I don't have to reiterate how overwhelmed I felt when starting out on my lightsaber building journey. I know you've felt it too. There's just too much to learn for one project. Too many technologies and terms and crafts you need to learn about to successfully build a lightsaber. What makes it even more difficult and overwhelming is that you can't just... START.
Sometimes when a project overwhelms me, the only way I get through it is by just starting. I'll tell myself, "Don't worry about all the little details. Just start. You'll figure the rest out as you go along."
Unfortunately, THIS IS NOT THAT KIND OF PROJECT :(
That's because every little aspect of building a lightsaber is intertwined with everything else. Certain effects only work on certain soundboards, which only support certain types of LEDs, which only support certain voltages of speakers, which only works if you have enough space in your hilt, which can be different diameters, which can only fit certain chassis, which can only support certain battery sizes - LIKE OH MY GOD DUDE JUST STOP

I made this video guide to help with all that. It describes what all the important parts are for building a lightsaber, and outlines all the things you gotta watch out for and keep in mind when you're shopping for parts.

Seems like the hardest part to do is the interior components. I'd reccomend buying and putting together your interior components first. Then looking for exterior components to fit around it. I've always wanted to go to a hardware store and just buy "hilt" pieces~

This maybe an old video, but their is 1 thing you forgot to mention, those Li-on Batteries don't last forever, you would eventually would have to replace them, I know, I had to replace mine after it started to lose its charge even after 2 DAYS of charging it.
