Haha yeah 😀 In the beginning I used to have the camera closer, but now I put it further away and zoom in a little but still you get the shaking

People claim glaciers of solid ice made those rounded boulders but when does a solid ice sheet tumble granite round and round with abrasives to smooth it into an egg shape? No, there are near identical boulders found in deserts like Arizona and South America and Arabia and many other places where glaciers never existed. All were made by debris flows.

'but when does a solid ice sheet tumble granite round and round with abrasives to smooth it into an egg shape?'
You really need to look at motion videos of glaciers. Of course they do this.
'round and round' Of course it wasn't round and round endlessly. With enough force you can grind stone in a single pass.
You aren't comprehending the weight of an ice sheet properly. You might as well be saying the weight of a mountain can't grind a rock that's under the base. Of course it can, easily.

Happy New Year 2023. You're doing great.
I made myself a wall of granite boulders on a dry one. Without cement. For hedges, bushes.
He laid the stones like a puzzle, picking up each one so that it fit snugly to the neighboring ones.
Before laying, I laid the material so that the grass would not grow between the stones.
Then he laid small stones as a foundation, and laid massive stones on top, which could not move anywhere under their weight.
The wall turned out to be 40-50 cm . It will cover the trunks of bushes. There will be branches of bushes on top. Sorry for my English)

Does anybody know how the ancients did this without a powerdrill to make the hole for the wedge?

    • @workingstoned
      @workingstoned  Місяць тому +1

A pointed chisel and a hammer, the pointed chisel developed into what today is called a star drill which basically is the manual version of what I use with my power drill. You can see me in one of my videos using a star drill, it’s very labor intensive and they often used the younger members of the crew to hammer out holes.

      Thank you.
These wedges are 18mm or ~3/4”

Using a chisel to create that drill line was a waste of time. Next time, just use a chalk line, or even just leave a string in place.
