    Disclaimer: DO NOT ATTEMPT. Though it was not directly explained in the video, everyone on site was briefed and those who were not directly on the launch team were required to be in a bunker, all launch personnel were behind and within 10 feet of bunkers. Despite having a commercial motor this launch was treated as an experimental flight, conducted at an experimental launch facility, and this team has extensive HPR experience and designed safety protocols based off of sims and planned tumble recovery and they were followed to a tee.
    If your ego is hurting because I lit an M motor in a crop top and a witch hat, that's a you problem.

      I could see her turning a skeleton into iron man without the armour ... but a skeleton riding a broom then spewing candy would be cool and doable in time for halloween on the range

    • @AugustusLarch
      @AugustusLarch 11 місяців тому +11

      The center of mass is the issue. The motor blowing off the legs is another. A rocket can fly without fins. Fins are more for compensating the wind than stability. The motor would be better placed above the head and to the side slightly. Also a big weight in the head. Then it would have flown intact.

    A bit late for this project, but for future reference and anyone else who runs into this, certain plastics have what's called "low surface energy" and require special adhesives (mostly polypropylene and polyethylene) to stick - the easiest of these to get is some CA glues can be bought with a surface primer, although those packs are a bit small for 12ft skeles

    Soooo next year in February a large heart shall launch for valentines. In April an Easter bunny will rise towards the stars. I can’t think of anything appropriate for Mother’s Day.

    Miles away, some poor farmer is just doing his work. Suddenly, plummeting out of the sky in a ball of smoke and flame, crashes a deformed and twisted gigantic skeleton staring at him from out of the crater. XD

    Thumbs up SPECIFICALLY for using McMaster bags for piping epoxy. Also, wondering how many points this would be in gymnastics considering ya stuck the landing!
