The story, the characters, the finale, neuvillette, focalors, all the cutscenes, absolutely phenomenal I think this might be the greatest archon quest in genshin 🥹so happy with how it turned out but sad its over
me too honestly but there is still one thing missing. WHERE IS AN ANEMO BOY THAT WILL SAVE US I DONT EANT THAT TREND TO END.. I also find skirk yeeting childe extremely funny
The writing staff changed around the time Inazuma went to shit, i heard they got honkai impact 3rd writers for sumeru and onwards because the writing style does seem to be the same.
@@daviddjordjevic2889 nah, that Honkai 3rd writer is not true and just a rumor. Honkai community said the same thing with Sumeru and it is not true after all. That is slap in the face and kick in the balls of the writers instead of telling they just improved. Don't spread misinformation unless you had valid source.
The trial really was the most fucked up thing that could have led to Fontaine's salvation from Furina's perspective. She spent so long holding up that facade with the threat of death looming over all of Fontaine and just when she was so close to the prophecies end she got exposed. She didn't know this was the trial she was waiting for, and she 100% thought she failed and that her suffering was all for nothing
there are many things that make her suffer too... Arlec - who asserts that furina did nothing for fontaine as she tried everything to save them, that's why furina is angry at being misunderstood and ....people fontaine really just makes her worse
@@yourwishwillcometrueYep. Honestly, everyone in Fontaine should apologize to Furina because her will saved everyone. Maybe the apologies are in her story quest which I need to do.
I felt like such a monster during the whole trial, like we straight up betrayed her at the one moment she was almost able to trust us. And let's not forget the primordial seawater test - girl was LITERALLY willing to risk death to preserve the secret.
@@unwintson Spoiler ahead. Well, she got no apology in her story quest. It's actually quite expected, Furina is the "nameless hero" of Fontaine, only Neuvillette and the traveler know a small part of the truth behind Furina, no one else know of the five hundred years of hell she endured for the sake of Fontaine.
@@ecyor0 I know right? She has a will of steel and I'm not going to lie, I am mad a traveller and the rest of the party for putting her through that. She was prepared to die for Fontaine during that test as well. Best not-archon-archon ever.
A VA that practically plays 3 different characters in one needs a giant raise. Focalors, Furina, and Furina’s facade all sounded so different and unique. This archon quest was done so well, I was practically speechless and dumbfounded the whole time.
while i was having dinner, my brain decided it was a great time to spring "furina's persona should be called faux-alors" y'know, because faux can be pronounced like foe, which is the same sound as the start of- *wrests control back from cyno*
PLUS it wasn't like the VA could just pick other voices; these three had to be distinct, but still similar enough that it's established that all these people are different versions of a single individual
Not-so-fun-fact: 182,375 (The really big scene number), when divided by 365, gives you about 500. So she didn't skip ONE SINGLE DAY in her act. She never took one day off, never shut herself in for a day, never dropped the act ONCE, in those 500 years.
Also not-so-fun-fact: Childe fought the All Devouring Narwhal for 45 days straight. Remember, he became extremely fatigued after fighting Traveler for a few minutes using the foul legacy form and he did this for more than a month. Also remember the fact he had to do it without a vision and only his delusion and abyss power. Also consider the fact Focalor potentially risked his life. ALSO REMEMBER THE TRAVELER AND PAIMON DIDN'T CARE ABOUT HIM AT ALL. Like man seriously? Not even an "OMG, is he ok?". I understand Traveler doesn't talk much but Paimon? Seriously?
@@Devilboy_1029we’re not even sure in what way time passes in the abyss, it could have been even longer. Childe deserves massive thanks. (also paimon didnt say anything bc she’s racist and hates all schneznayans)
3:37:03 This moment hit me particularly hard in the feels. It is meant to show you how the conversation would have went if it wasn't interrupted. It shows that Furina was so committed to her cause that even when presented with a golden opportunity for the slightest amount of relief through confiding in somebody, she still refused to take it. She truly was willing to bear that burden as long as it took to save the people of Fontaine. Edit: I highly recommend reading Raiden Ei's "About Furina" quote if you have her. I couldn't have said it better myself.
same... even furina demo is hard to watch now because these two :((( TBH since navia is coming out next patch, i wish somehow they can be revived even tho the chance is low...

This is the only archon quest (Besides the first one) That I did not skip almost any dialogue for. (Paimon doesn't count) It felt like a movie, all the way through.
@@kkkkkkk6668no, she never had any power to begin with. Focalors separated her divinity from her human form. So Focalors in the Oratrice was the archon all along, and Furina was just a human counterpart she created to cover for her. She has always been just a human with no archon powers.
@@cosmiccatloaf i think you misunderstand my point, an archon is someone who won the archon war, and reaching godhood and gaining divinity is a different case. focalors split between divinity and her human body, if the divinity doesnt curse the human body and gave her a name then that will make people understand better, just like how nahida is called buer, why does she even need nahida as a name at all. well my point is furina is still focalors, the name furina is simply given by the divinity counterpart, it doesnt mean she create a new human entity since furina is focalors's body
Furina is such a sweetheart. And Focalors is both a genius for her plan and very cruel for subjecting Furina to the life she had. But also selfless for sacrificing herself. So I gained a lot of respect for them both.
Focalors simply wanted to become a human, yet Egeria forced her to become her successor and dump all the problems to her. And then later Focalors did the same to Furina. God, what a cycle.
at the end... focalor and furina are both 'one being'. focalor is the 'divinity' and furina the 'humanity', like 2 sides of a coin. she subjected herself to all of this and even sacrificed herself to end this cycle of 'divinity' and 'humanity'. as she said herself, humanity is the true justice that has been brought upon the people, they don't need an archon for it.
@@burnedpotatoes720 well in a sense focalors did nothing to anyone but to herself, since she split herself and use the other half to play the role meanwhile the other half lies in the oratrice to gain power
The devs did. She did it spectacularly too. Managed to fool us way harder than we've been in Sumeru. Also, unlike Rukkha's case... I just can't bring myself to like Focalors after this quest in particular. Respect? Definitely, admire her wit? Obviously. Her plan? *No* Hate is a very strong word, so disagreement is the correct term? I understand it's the Ultima role and why she's born. But it all boils down to *sacrifice* both of them in the end after years of total loneliness only they understand but are unable to share it for many kinds of reasons on top of one another. I just... Can't accept it... Not only to Furina, but herself too. She maybe bratty when we met her the first time around when 4.0 came out... Now? Pun unintended, but for crying out loud... We need to give Furina a hug more than ever...
I think most people missed this dark detail, but Cannes, the father of Desyree that we saw crying at the entrance of poisson.. was also included in the list of victims paimon was reciting. We can then sadly assume that shortly after we heard him cry out Desyree’s name he… followed her daughter in the afterlife
@@okay5048They're "dead" in the human sense. They're gone, and never to be interacted with again. Their emotions and memories live on in the water, but the person they were will dissolve among the waves. The reason for Melus and Silver's circumstances, as well as all of Vacher's victims, were exceptionally strong lingering emotions, that they could manage to keep their "individuality" as an Oceanid. Melus and Silver's emotions being the desire to protect Navia, and all the victims of the dissolving being vengeance.
duuude, i haven't done the finale but i been holding back tears and i went here just to find some solace and your comment ALMOST made me let the watergates open
Furina has the most tragic archon backstory tbh (well, yes she's not THE Focalors, but she is still a part of Focalor that was.. Human) imagine having to play an endless performance for 500 years, if even ONE person doubts her, everything will be worthless...
The way I see it, ALL archons suffered the most in different ways with their own tragedies; venti, zhongli lost a lot in their lifetime as eldest and Raiden had depression over the loss of her sister that caused her neglect over inazuma... Meanwhile both Furina and Nahida suffered the most in terms of shouldering the burden of people's fates in very different ways cause in the end both lost important figures to save their people (for Nahida, the entirety of teyvat with how irminsul is and the role of dendro archon being the heart of all from the looks of it); it's just while Nahida was imprisoned, mistreated and shunned by her own ppl from her BIRTH, hated and always compared 'to someone better'. Furina had to act her entire life in a role she doesn't want feeling like an impostor in a sense as she's adored for the facade she needs to put up. Gosh it's mirror contrasts of tragic fate and suffering until their release and are finally free; just with Nahida taking ON the role of archon and Furina stepping down instead.
And having literally NOTHING at your disposal to help keep up the facade. She couldn't confide in someone to help protect it, not even Neuvillette, and she had no powers to help pretend. Honestly I'm just gonna say what I was thinking the whole time- "So you're telling me she has not shown any powers off a single time for 500 years and not ONE person doubted her enough to investigate? Fontainians are a special breed indeed."
Very much reminds me of Lobotomy Corp. A person born to be part of a seemingly endless play where one misstep could ruin it all, the difference is that Furina only did it for 500 years, Angela suffered for a million.
I almost cried during Neuvillete and Focalor's scene. Focalors did so much just to save Fontaine, Furina acted for years pretending to be someone she isn't and Neuvillete hearing the pain in his voice when he knew what might happened next is painful. Ironically these three who supposedly are not human has the most human emotions. I just wanna give them a hug😭
3:48:54 I love that hitch in Neuvillette's movements. It kind of indirectly shows that even though he hasn't known Focalors for a long time, he still grieves. He's a dragon but he still cares.
He clearly cared, Focalors is part of Furina and this was the person who spent the most time with Neuvillette. You don't spend that much time with a person without getting attached. Neuvillette felt different in this trial compared to others, both because of his personal "vendetta" towards the archons and the fact that he was judging his partner after so many years together.
It's the first time which Neuvillette's generally rigid and aligned posture breaks. If you pay attention, he always keeps his magnanimous presence, he finally allowed himself to express his feelings through his body.
Without out a down the VAs are doing a spectacular job. But we also have to give credit to the writers this version. They’ve really stepped up their storytelling.
@konstaz4210 it hurts me so much that most people, especially the traveler, who knew the whole thing about Furina's sacrifice, can't even appreciate Furina for what she did.
I didn't get scammed. I pulled for Furina for FURINA. The label of Archon had nothing to do with it. In fact, it took the Archon Quest and her Story Quest to finally convince me. In fact, everything we knew about Furina sans role before this patch was what had convinced me not to. Honestly her writing is peak.
@@restart6358 what I mean is she was archon in title but they were archon in power the names venti and zhongli have never been associated with their archon identity but are still the characters we play
@@LycanMOON Nahida was too scared to do anything. If she stood up earlier everything that happened could've been stopped before Traveler even arrived. She was a real Archon with a real power. Furina was just a human. A girl with a burden that is far surpasses any burden that any Archon could bear. She's one and only.
If you think about it, her/their journey was like the previous Archons we have met yet! At first she wished to become a human and just like Barbatos they both adquired a human form just as they wished. But Focalor couldn't be both human and prevent the prophecy at the same time, so She and Beelzebub created a placeholder to take over their roles as archons. (Although in this regard Foçalor was a lot more cruel than Ei, Ei rejected Scara because she knew having someone with emotions play as an Archon was such a painful task. But Foçalor put Furina through it). Then Furina got trapped, just like Buer, as both were forced to bear a burden too strong for themselves. And a pain of governing people for so long without been able to relay on others binded by a contract that cannot be broken, just like Morax as they both wanted to give up, and only fooling the heavenly principals through death was their only way out of their contracts.
@@silhouette9699nah you misinterpreted me hard Ruhkka and focalors both died, both nahida and furina want what's best for their people but aren't in control Nahida was locked in her cage while furina was forced to act the part
The fact that Makoto, and especially Rhukadevata and Focalor had to sacrificed themselves without getting credit for what they did breaks my heart. Mihoyo is really making all the Archons have the saddest stories.
furina got treated so unfairly TT After knowing what she went through, it's so difficult for me to re-watch the trial scenes. She must have been so afraid and devastated because to reenact the prophecy scene, focalors didnt tell her the entire plan. even after the whole thing is over, most don't know the details and some still look at her with contempt despite everything she did so selflessly all those years. At least for the traveller who knew what happened, I wish they would have given her a hug, apologised or thanked her TT why must she continue to feel apologetic it's so heart breaking... and yet she continues to be kind and courageous. furina is much stronger than she gives herself credit for.
Even though she couldn’t tell anyone about the truth she at least had Neuvillette to be with her as the centuries passed. I’d like to imagine that’s another reason why Focalors appointed him as Iudex so Furina wouldn’t be completely alone as she moved through time
Even Neuvillette can't tell everyone about that cuz it will make Focalor's to trick the Heavenly Principle back in zero. If everyone knew, the Heavenly Principle knew. I have to say that they have no choice but keep that's as a secret
i find it ironic that Furina acted the way she is because the people of fontaine didnt see her as an archon, and when she acted like the archon everyone expected her to be, we get people irl, in this community, that acts exactly like the old fontainians because yet again she didnt meet the expectations people had of that of an archon. Furina really just cant win, and as one of the people who believed in her in 4.0, i really love her even more now.
I always knew she couldn't be that "bratty" for no reason, something was off for me from the first moment and now...after all the hate I received, I feel now like everything was not in vain, I'm free just as she is...
The moment Focalor told Neuvillette to not try I started crying The animated scenes this update were absolutely beautiful, also childe getting yeeted into a portal
If the Capitano is just an ordinary human who is so ridiculously strong and overpowered to take 1st rank in the strongest teyvat military organization among the various strongest creatures of teyvat, then this is simply unbelievable and will increase his badassery beyond the limits
Idc what anyone says Furina is an Archon, she stood for her Nation and endured suffering for her people, plus shes the body of the real Archon. But most importantly all the other archons have voicelines showing their respect to Furina even Ei someone who isn't so impressed with the other archons
For me, Furina and Focalors are the same person. Just past and future. After Focalors's removed herself from her physical body, all that was left was her human body at the moment Egeria transformed her. So like her past-self. Then she made a "contract" with herself and deceived herself in order to deceive the Heavenly principles.
Ok, before anyone starts it. I know I am overly emotional and that this is just a game. But personally, I can really immerse myself in storys and feel with the characters in them. Nobody needs to do that, everybody can do as they please. But I do that, because I‘m like that. (sometimes to my misfortune) So, what I wanted to say is. Everyone‘s like „Omg Skirk so cool!“ , „Poor Neuvillette! He doesn‘t deserve to go through all this!“ , „Focalors is actually 5Head/ Gigachad/ 1v1ed Celestia and won!?“ But what about Furina? Maybe it is just me, but nobody is talking about her and what she did. And I was waiting during the Archon quest for someone, anyone, to go and comfort this girl just once. And nobody did. Then I was like, yeah maybe in her story quest. Bro… I’m not saying I didn’t like the story quest, because I did. It was nice. But good god would I have killed for it to be just about Furina after she got literally nothing in the Archon quest. Yes, we got crumbs and I am a glad about those. But just crumbs. Nobody really went to her and said: „You did well. But you‘re done now, you can rest.“ Also I am stunned, on how insensitive they made Traveller and Paimon during her story quest. Seriously, who would ask someone that just got done with an acting job so huge, that they’re completely traumatized from, to act as somebody else again? I would have never asked something like this if I had an actual choice, because trust me, that‘s probably the worst thing you could ask. Anyways, I just want to hug Furina real bad. That‘s basically all I wanted to say. Because I can relate to being „an actor“ and this really hit far too close for me. Like, some characters were already bad, some others even worse, but Furina is actually „the end“ for me. I‘ll go get some rest now. After both the Archon quest and the Story quest I am so emotionally drained. So good night! To anyone who read this abomination this far, have a nice rest of your day or night! Thank you for listening.
FINALLY! Someone else who thinks the same. i'm just gonna copy paste what i written before. yeah, i never got to play it because im not in fontaine yet but i eatched what i could and honestly, they did her dirty at every single turn personally is what it feels like. 4.0, understandable since its the beginning, Navia is great and meeting the new characters is great. 4.1, Neuvi and Arle steals the show for the most psrt and is where Furina's chsracter gets disregarded by a lot of people is what it felt like. 4.2, during the livestream Neuvi and especislly Skirk got the spotlight, and now in the story with whst really rubbed me is how despite the suffering she had to endure as a human for 500+ years playing the role of the archon that everyone wanted to see, keeping a secret without being able to confide with anyone, not even Neuvilette because of the constant fear that if she ever blunders or spills the beans, the entire plan she doesnt even know the details of how and when it will happen because even Focalor kept her in the dark, the entire thing will just collapse and the people she sincerely cared for will all be wiped out. She kept up the lie for so long it left an unwashable mark on her, with the pressence of rain alone is enough for her to get scared of the water levels rising even though the prophecy has long since passed. At the end when she was put on trial, it was like she was betrayed by everyone, even by those who was supposed to be on her side. Even at the end of the archon quest when she was granted the freedom of being human, outside from the cutscene of her walking out of the Opera after the prophecy didnt happen, as far as i could see, everyone had s grand old time of having an ending of their own, talking about how its all finally over and all is good but what really irked me was that Furina never got anything in the end for the shit she went through. She never even appeared in a scene. She never got an apology from anyone and while understandable in her story quest, there was a lot of people who wasnt really fond of her because of the things she did as focalor, fair, and its a better done inazuma since not everything is instantly resolved. I'm happy she's atleast living finally as herself and now gets to be normal, drsgging her bsck to the spotlight sfter the trauma she went through stkll doesnt sit right though. I am never removing her from my team and im making sure she has a fun time exploring the other regions outside of fontaine. I really love Furina. she really needs hug and headpats.
I could only imagine how much Indemnitium Furina generated when she turned her own death sentence trial in her favor to get the audiences attention. I cant imagine her living for 500 yrs, watching other humans grow up, have children and die while she had to pretend everyone's life doesn't hinge on her giving an oscar winning performance. Poor girl.
Honestly people dont talk enough abt how fucking terrified Furina was bc shes been doing this bs for 500 years and now shes gonna be exposed?? And yet she fucking strutted on that stage and turned it into an amazing mega trial against a GOD 😂 Like Focalors and Furina really said Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss, Go fuck yourself Celestia and meant every word
Focalors dancing in front of Neuvillette and how it went to Furina dancing and Neuvillette's reaction to her death is the most beautiful and tragic scene in genshin. I cried rivers for them. More than I cried for Rukkhadevata.
Most egregiously the JP dubbers saying Neuvi's emotional voice direction "ruined" the character. They don't realise that Focalors' plan hinged on Neuvi learning to express his emotions after living among humans just so he would absolve them of their sins, literally the whole point of this half century plot. That's why "You are a devious one, Focalors" hits so much harder in EN. The hate is just thinly veiled JP seiyuu fanwank (since JP Neuvi shares the same VA as JP Levi Ackerman).
I'mma be fr I played JP dub the first few months of me playing Genshin and I kinda regret playing the Fontaine Archon Quest in JP. The EN voice acting specifically for Fontaine is actually stellar.
cried at the start of this archon quest. there's just too much emotions. the second half of this quest just has some things happening one after another and i cried a lot too. the best archon quest so far. i don't usually cry too but i cried a lot while doing this. i'm happy and sad at the same time after finishing this quest. thank you hoyoverse, i hope to see what's in Natlan.
@@glnkoum Dude, did you pay attention to the story or not? if Furina did just a single mistake in those 500 years Focalors plan would be for nothing and Fontaine will be doomed, i give credit where it's due
@@LeviAckerman-kv3ee I gave her credit for that?! But single-handed is too strong a word, if Hydro Dragon had not been imbued with people, the whole plan of Forcalors would have gone to hell. There are a lot of nuances in the plot, Focalors relied a lot on luck and, fortunately, she was lucky
@@glnkoum For me single-handed is a correct terms, i was talking about the span of those 500 years from the beginning of Furina and Focalors meeting, to the point where she face the trial, if in those 500 years she spoil the plan just once, then it doesn't matter what Neuvillette character development goes. But if Neuvillette turns out to be a miscalculation by Focalors in the final moment, then Furina still did her job nonetheless, and nobody, not a single soul including Neuvillette knows about it, only Focalors and Furina, while Furina herself have no idea what is Focalors plan but she trusted her for that long. To simplify the logic I'm using, let's use the analogy of cooking steak, Furina 500 years role is the dry aging of the steak, Neuvillette final decision is the cooking, and Focalors desired result is the doneness, let's take medium rare. If the dry aging failed then there's no steak to cook, no steak to eat. But if the dry aging is successful then it depends on the cooking, so either it's perfect or overcooked it doesn't matter, the dry aging is successful nonetheless and the mistake would be in the cooking process.
@@glnkoum single-handed IS the correct term. throughout 500 years she gathered the power needed to destroy a god and her throne from the Heavenly Principle. She endured through her inability to save people when her people were gazing upon her to solve the prophecy. She spent 500 years researching and working with the Fontanian researchers to find a solution. She kept her silence and never wavered, even when she was faced with the oppotunity to confide in a single human being. SHE may not be an archon, but she is a QUEEN.
Genuinly the best Archon quest ever. The story telling was on point and I'm so proud of Genshin for coming this far on their journey. Not only Focalors suffered but Furina did too and I wish with all my heart that Furina will be now a free soul with a vision.

I felt the need to watch a reaction because i had to relive this quest again and your excitement totally represents me. I loved Folcalors and well Neuvillette has had my heart since day 1. How can a character be so amazing.

3:10:43 - 3:37:40 when i tell you i cried omg 😭 this story is absolutely phenomenal but so extremely heartbreaking... seeing how exhausting it was on day one and then her tears on one of the last days, i literally could not hold myself together anymore lol. i don't usually cry for fiction but oh my gosh they made her emotions seem so human and it just broke me, this poor girl 🥺
What’s the worst thing you can give to Furina? Hope. I feel like what traveller said to her was very cruel (and not very useful) although it seemed to be the best thing we could’ve said. Now we go back to look at what we’ve done so far, all of them would seem just torture to Furina.
@@Mat_Reko I think that’s what’s implied. There’s no more curse and she’s now a normal human being. But it’s her dream to live and die as a human being
I feel like the fact that Furina is so powerful even though she isn't an Archon is the result of Neuvillette playing favourites when handing out his first vision
paimon going up to random strangers just to ask if they would panic in their final moments is so fking funny to me. like cmon girl keep your unhinged existentialism to yourself 🤣
There are people who already completed the archon quest and then there is me who can't play the archon quest in week because of school, I try it on weekend for best experience
3:08:13 Very few talk about Neuvillette's excellent voice acting. The affliction in his voice is clearly noticeable in the face of such discoveries of immense magnitude. I played it in Japanese and I have to say that the English version won by far in this case.
This archon quest is so depressing, lore drop, happy, and more lore drop. Really was not expecting Melus and Silver death at all after seeing Furina's demo. Poor Navia but also poor Furina having to play a role for so so long. No wonder she panicked when we exposed her.
I take back everything I ever said about Furina. She suffered so much but never once did her resolve break and in the end in saved Fontaine. And Focalors....such a devious one but so selfless all the same. Never agreed for her to subject Furina to so much but she meant well and it did pay off. She deceived Celestia just like she intended. But Neuvilette in full dragon mode, crying and saying "Fontaine, your sins are forgiven" 😢😢😢😢 chef's kiss. Hands down best Archon Quest to date. Genshin writers amd devs don't miss bro. Magnificent just Magnificent.
Btw incase anyone is curious a quick Google search show Surtalogi is also a name for the fire in norse mythology that will destroy the world. Not too surprising someone named after it would keep a nation destroying Narwhal as a pet
I love how they now start to use the word "planet" instead of just "this world" or "Teyvat". It really feels like that we are about to massively increase the scale of this story and I'm fucking here for it.
By far the best archon quest, ofc the newer one always gets the title "best", this was more than just best, ig Act VI would be just a little advancement to some mysterical revelation if it were to come.
The rain and thunder in the navia dialouge rlly was a paid actor bc when I did this quest, I had the sunrise glowing on navia and I got some nice pictures out of it
The hydro archon is nor furina or neuvilette, what focalor meant by defying the system that celestia made was removing the title archon(one of the seven). Neuvilette just regained his full authority, but not became an archon.
Haven’t even play the Archon Quest yet, this is like a milkshake of emotions and actions that had been combined together, it had let me speechless in questions, emotions and left me super amazed too. I can’t explain how good of the Archon quest is, and I’ll appreciate how amazing this game always has been. I wish I have more words to say, this is all I can say. I will say more when I can do.
Also the whale or/and skirk could be descenders that entered teyvat, to find food lol idk, so like skirk and the whale were a package that arrived in fontaine, or skirk was a segment of the whales consciousness or a like a sibling ig...
It broke me the moment I saw scene 182375, I was weeping for like 30 minutes. I feel so related, I’m someone who has a need to be listened to and understood. It’s part of my psychological need. I would be feeling down if I haven’t been talking to someone for a week. For 500 years? I can’t even imagine. I just hope Furina gets to experience life as herself as a normal human being.
I love this quest so much, the way furina was so committed to saving the nation, prioritizing the fontainians THAN herself for 500 years, ignoring all her mental health problems, making my heart ache🙁
I just finished the quest, before coming here to watch you doing it and, OMG, that was the most emotional quest genshin has ever done. I said emotional, because I expirienced ALL kinds of emotions during it, not just peticular one, and I wasnt that emotional during previos quests in genshin, nor do I rememer being myself so reactive to stuff happening in other games too. Starting from the start of Furinas trial it was such an insane emotional rollercoster, and it was gradually escalating till the very end. Also the truths reveal about Furina, the conversation between Neuvillette and Focalors had me in tears. I dont remember crying because of the games at all. Sadness, yes, maybe a lone tear here and there, but never did I cry before. The fight with a whale and its minion really surprised me by how not genshin like it was. The music in my headphones was blasting full volume, I was in heaven. And the final cutscene where everyone was on boats getting out of water had me smiling line an idiot.
Dude this archon quest was CRAZY. I didn’t know I would CRY as much as I did. I was FREAKING OUT during the cutscenes and the lore dump was just oh my god. I don’t know how to properly put my feelings into words right now. I finished the quest and just had to sit and process it for a good while. There were so many good plot twists and the VA’s absolutely CARRIED. This archon quest was probably the best I’ve seen from Genshin having only started to play it in late May of this year.
so there are 182,500 days in 500 years which mean scene in Furina's inner world are the day of her life which and is did that for 182,376 days so a little under 500, which means that it took Focalors a little under 4 months to come up with this plan.
I think the part about it that hits the hardest for the audience, whether we consciously realized it or not, is that this is the first time that the archons and humanity itself were able to fight back against The Heavenly Principles AND WIN. The Heavenly Principles used Khaenri'ah as a warning to the rest of humanity as a kind of "this is what will happen to you if you defy me and my world order." Egeria tried to push the bounds of what The Heavenly Principles dictated she was allowed to do and thus the prophecy was created, Fontaine was to become a second Khaenri'ah except it would have a slow, tortuous death. Focalors created the scenario where humanity got to stand against The Heavenly Principles and say no, you won't do this to us and good god THEY WON. Not since The Heavenly Principles came to Teyvat did humanity win against the divine and yet Fontaine has become a rallying point for the rest of humanity that they don't have to submit to The Heavenly Principles anymore.
Everytime I finish a archon quest, first thing I do is come watch Jon play it. Perfect amount of lore knowledge and hilarious, chat also has the funniest things to say during streams lmao. I was tempted to timestamp the best moments in the five hours lol
The plot is interesting but i still love the sumeru archon quest more. Also, am i the only one that thinks that they did furina dirty? I mean, furina/focalor has the most sacrifice in preventing the prophecy, but not a single person even thanks her or applogize in doubting her. What worse, some people even look down to her even after the prophecy is prevented.
I might be bias because I love Furina, but I kinda agree. They did Furina dirty. Even people close to Furina doesn't seem to guve her a credit she deserves
I’m glad to find someone else who still likes the sumeru archon quest more. There are certain aspects I liked more about Fontaine, such as neuvilette, I liked the characters way way more in Fontaine too. I think the more I watch this quest, the more I’ll start to like it, and it’ll be tied with sumeru for me
i also prefer the sumeru story quests but that might be because i like sumeru characters the most - i think they were the first ones to have more complex writing behind them. now fontaine took this complexity of the story and characters further but sumeru is still special to me. and i don't know how furina didn't get a single thank you. I'm glad she's resting now but it's like her sacrifice isn't even acknowledged by the public.
You know what's sadder? everytime we've seen it rain in Fontaine because of Neuvillette it has always been somewhat light but during the execution cutscene we can clearly see how heavy the rain was. Another small detail,we see there is a drop on Neuvillette 's chin when he's forgiving the fontainians. This might be the only time he has physically shed tears since he was born hundreds of years ago instead of just making it rain
182375 days, 182375 scenes. If nothing else, that little film cut really hit home for me, that her entire life was a play. 499 years and 120 days of unending theatre.
I think people might be getting confused on the Furina Focalors situation. It's not really equivalent to Ei and Raiden. Furina and Focalors were both one at first, she separated our her divinity and knowledge and put it into the oracrice, and that left behind the Human part and a naive mind. Ei was her entire self and created a separate puppet with it's own powers to enact her will. Furina was not a created puppet, she was the body focalors resided in before separating the divine part of her consciousness. Focalors was presumably not able to leave the oracrice and do anything with no body anymore. Ei still had her body and could come to the real world if she wanted.
Okay, I LOVE the doube symbolism of the hat. The guillotine coming down yes, but also in media. Typically when you only see a lone top hat on the stage, it means that the show is over permanently. That was the LAST showing of that particular show, or the finale of an entire saga of shows continuing one story. Just like how after that, Furina can FINALLY put down the hat, and move on from the role she's played for 500 years. Be who she wants to be, have a family if she wants, just finally rest after all she's done and boy does she need it. 😢
And the sad part is, Furina was not given enough information on what the plan is in order to establish the believability of the act. She was just told she's too expect a magnificent and dramatic trial, and that's the thing she's been looking forward to for many many years in the opera, not knowing it was gonna be her trial. All crucial to avert the gaze of the Heavenly Principles to what is happening behind the curtain, and that is the accumulation of power enough to destroy the throne. The trial must seem real and Furina must "weep on her throne", that is the basic premise the prophecy must show, so Focalors can plan everything in between.
neu isnt gonna be the archon, hydro dragon sovereign is higher authority than archon in a way, fontain is archon-less, but fontaine is directly under dragon sovereign control for now
I love the Knave’s design, and subtle voice changes when talking to her children and even the Traveler after becoming allies, she has a strict voice but it sounds so much less threatening depending on who it is. Her design and ranking should cause obvious fear but the only reason she became the Knave and why she joined was to use the gnosis to stop the flooding and to be rid of the old Knave who had awful treatment towards the kids, she has a reason to join them it’s not just being forced to, wanting to fight or overthrow, or because they’re insane. She’s working with those who are morally gray for morally good things. It fits Fontaine and their values of justice, that even the darker things can be used for good in the world. Her presence, her voice at times, her appearance, and her work or title, she should be someone to fear but compared to all harbingers we’ve met she has a reason and ways of using the work and morally gray often flat out evil ways to bring good things into the world. Fontaine in general has had such good story telling, all throughout genshin there are ties to real world religions, seeing those things be implied is one thing, but seeing different parts of them to make the stories, seeing it all come to life is beautiful.
I didn't cry this time, but I didn't think I'd feel such intense emotion like I did with sumeru act 5. Fontaine has surpassed that. Such tragedy. I was nervous, emotional, a bit angry, relieved, and overall moved by focalors sacrifice. And honestly giggled a bit when Skirk appeared, yeeted Childe and was like sorry about my pet he's a bit difficult. Like, YOU DON'T SAY HUH. Plus the ending leaves you curious for Furinas quest. Can't wait. Absolute banger. Only thing, I wish we had actually talked to Childe so we see for ourselves he's safe.
Every time I watch this quest, I find something new. This time it was Furina's hair. You see her both with the long bit of hair down her back and without. That bit of hair is symbolic of her role as the Hydro Archon, shown by the fact that it looks exactly like Focalors hair. When you see her with that hair, she is playing her part as archon. When she doesn't have that bit of hair, we are seeing her as her true self
I so want to see more of the normal human Furina, I swear probably this quest has made me like her more then Neuvilette. She has endured so much, and now she deserve whatever she will find herself in need
4:04:24 it happen one to lol, kazuha voice line comenout of nowhere. Joke aside, this story is so far the best. Twist after twist, cutscenes, the interaction from each character involved, it's just so good!! I start the quest being a crybaby and end it with relieve
Sigewinne question will probably be answerd in her hangout or story quest (depends on tha fact if she is a 4* or a 5*), we just have to wait. Knowing what we know about creation and birth of Melusines, she probably was born while being contaminated by the human blood from the tragedy that happened inside Elynas' carcass. In other words she was born from Elynas' fragment that had human blood on it, that's the most possible theory. Quite dark, but Melusines' origin was really a miracle spawned from the tragedy.
No body is talking about neuvelette getting the authority..?? Guys now we have a full fledged dragon sovereign back on teyvat and after this quest as furina deceived celestia i bet this is the beginning of the war
Am talking about the ancient rulers of teyvat the dragons.. and now one of them in back with full power and do u think celestia will be happy after knowing all fontainions are still alive and neuvelette created the new race

Well, she got no apology in her story quest. It's actually quite expected, Furina is the "nameless hero" of Fontaine, only Neuvillette and the traveler know a small part of the truth behind Furina, no one else know of the five hundred years of hell she endured for the sake of Fontaine.

A VA that practically plays 3 different characters in one needs a giant raise. Focalors, Furina, and Furina’s facade all sounded so different and unique. This archon quest was done so well, I was practically speechless and dumbfounded the whole time.

Indeed, even when her own mental state is already broken, she continues on this path of self sacrifice. A very noble person.

She is, absolutly the best.
She is undoubtedly one of the bravest characters in the game
shes physically an archon since she is literally 50% of focalors, but her archon power is gone
Focalors apologizing to furina makes me both tear up and smile. But also shes subjecting her human counterpart to what egeria put her through
Focalors simply wanted to become a human, yet Egeria forced her to become her successor and dump all the problems to her.

Furina has the most tragic archon backstory tbh (well, yes she's not THE Focalors, but she is still a part of Focalor that was.. Human) imagine having to play an endless performance for 500 years, if even ONE person doubts her, everything will be worthless...
I wonder what Dainsleif would think about Furina sharing the pain of a seemingly endless curse of immortality...
Still a clown, I could have done so much better, she wasn’t strong and was just a crybaby. Not strong like others like Ei who had her sister die

And then we'll team up with him in natlan's archon quest
@@HighwayStar666. That is literally what my comment is saying…
I’d honestly love if he turns out to just be a brawler with no weapon. Just grab the traveler overhead and yeet them
@Blackout_ yeah he is 1st like man is complete powerhouse and badass.Well deserved
@@IN-tm8mw well, you don't have to assume they are the same person...because they are the same person.
@@TheBikeOnTheMoon Yah very true. Most don't seem to understand that. which is why i worded it the way i did.
Everyone‘s like „Omg Skirk so cool!“
, „Poor Neuvillette! He doesn‘t deserve to go through all this!“
, „Focalors is actually 5Head/ Gigachad/ 1v1ed Celestia and won!?“
But what about Furina? Maybe it is just me, but nobody is talking about her and what she did. And I was waiting during the Archon quest for someone, anyone, to go and comfort this girl just once. And nobody did. Then I was like, yeah maybe in her story quest. Bro…
I’m not saying I didn’t like the story quest, because I did. It was nice.
But good god would I have killed for it to be just about Furina after she got literally nothing in the Archon quest. Yes, we got crumbs and I am a glad about those. But just crumbs. Nobody really went to her and said: „You did well. But you‘re done now, you can rest.“
Also I am stunned, on how insensitive they made Traveller and Paimon during her story quest.
I really love Furina. she really needs hug and headpats.
this is the realest comment ever
I'll come read the rest after I've seen her quest 💙
Lmao I saw the comments and literally everyone is talking about Furina. Calm down
@@andyvincenti Now, yes.
Neuvillette IS the hydro dragon, not archon. He has a higher authority than archons.
Yea, cuz there never was archon power, it was just sovereign dragon's ½ powers all this time
Furina is the bravest character in Genshin, by far.
And yet she fucking strutted on that stage and turned it into an amazing mega trial against a GOD 😂
Like Focalors and Furina really said Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss, Go fuck yourself Celestia and meant every word
Focalors dancing in front of Neuvillette and how it went to Furina dancing and Neuvillette's reaction to her death is the most beautiful and tragic scene in genshin.
I cried rivers for them. More than I cried for Rukkhadevata.
Imagine calling the ENG dub "mid" with THIS level of performance. You are literally not human if you aren't moved by this.
For sure. Eng dubbed peaked here ngl
@@MansMan42069 EN dub just feels so raw compared to the professional standard that JP dub is known for. Honestly prefer the former to be honest.
The Eng dub sounds goofy lol. JP dub clears
I'mma be fr I played JP dub the first few months of me playing Genshin and I kinda regret playing the Fontaine Archon Quest in JP. The EN voice acting specifically for Fontaine is actually stellar.
I cried way too much during this quest but i loved it so much

Furina single-handedly carrying Fontaine in her back as ordinary human, for half a millennia
Oh, yeah I guess Neuvillette is nothing now. Furina did really great, but there is no need to overestimate her merits

Very few talk about Neuvillette's excellent voice acting. The affliction in his voice is clearly noticeable in the face of such discoveries of immense magnitude.
I played it in Japanese and I have to say that the English version won by far in this case.
Imo English version is the best for fontaine ngl
This archon quest is so depressing, lore drop, happy, and more lore drop. Really was not expecting Melus and Silver death at all after seeing Furina's demo. Poor Navia but also poor Furina having to play a role for so so long. No wonder she panicked when we exposed her.
The god of justice really taught us not to judge anybody so hastly like we did with Furina at first. Wonderful Archon quest
*Fun Fact: The part when we're in Furina's mind, the "scene 182376" actually equtes to 500 years.*
I knew Furina herself isn’t the Archon, but damn this still doesn’t prepared me on the suffering she had to endure all those years
The rain and thunder in the navia dialouge rlly was a paid actor
bc when I did this quest, I had the sunrise glowing on navia
and I got some nice pictures out of it
The hydro archon is nor furina or neuvilette, what focalor meant by defying the system that celestia made was removing the title archon(one of the seven).
Fontaine story is perfect.
But silver and melus shouldnt have died, they were really good characters 😢
Also the whale or/and skirk could be descenders that entered teyvat, to find food lol idk, so like skirk and the whale were a package that arrived in fontaine, or skirk was a segment of the whales consciousness or a like a sibling ig...

Furina needs 500 years worth of oscar awards
*furina awards
Yea even her story quest
True. But her fellow archons did appreciate her sacrifices. Even Ei applauded her.
The music where Furina and Focalor dancing scene just melts my heart. ❤😊
The trial must seem real and Furina must "weep on her throne", that is the basic premise the prophecy must show, so Focalors can plan everything in between.
neu isnt gonna be the archon, hydro dragon sovereign is higher authority than archon
in a way, fontain is archon-less, but fontaine is directly under dragon sovereign control for now
fun fact: scene 182375 is basically equivalent to the number of days it has been since she started acting as the god
Almost 500 years
I love the Knave’s design, and subtle voice changes when talking to her children and even the Traveler after becoming allies, she has a strict voice but it sounds so much less threatening depending on who it is.
I've been waiting I can't wait to see your reactions !!
Natlan is shaping up to be a battle royale with pyro archon, capitano, the traveler and god knows who else lmao
