Lovely composition and fine quality painting; how a painting is composed is as important as the composition of an orchestral work and you have my respect for excelling at both. Thank you for your kindness in sharing this, it is very instructional.
oh my gosh.. ive done a good number of your tutorials and fine you the most detailed instructor… im a member or Patreon and am very excited to get to try the seashells at some point in the near future. it would be awesome to see a painting like the koi with all the stones.. these of your style are so intricate and yet your presentation of them, makes it seem doable to a newbie .. such as myself. with my greatest Thanks. Blissings to you.
I love watching your videos Louise - especially the little clips of Leo! He’s adorable. This painting is beautiful, and I’m always amazed at your details and patience. I want to “like” the video, but can’t find that button anymore!! Maybe I need my daughter to help - always thought I was a techie but my age is showing I guess lol. Anyways, loved the bloops as always!! 🥰💕 EDITED: I figured it out!! Lol - score 1 for GenX 😂
I have a male tuxedo cat (Atlas) and his two favorite things in all the land are 1) playing with paintbrushes - I find them all over my house, and 2) playing in water - wet paw prints all over the house too LOL It does make painting a challenge! He's also a master easel climber.
What a lovely painting Louise! Thank you for showing us that simple subjects can give us a beautiful composition. Thanks for letting Leo guest star again. It’s great to see him as he’s growing.
This is one of my favorites. Loved watching you paint this one. Skillful composition. Skillful brush strokes. Skillful paint application. You're a true inspiration for us beginners. And as a fellow cat lover, it was a nice surprise to see little Leo. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Love it, love it, love it! The addition of some warmth to the background worked well. I was worried little Leo was going to tip over your water vessel. He is too cute.
Glad you liked it. Thank you Mary. He's a cutie but I have to keep him out of the studio when I paint now. He gets into everything. Maybe when he's older he'll be able to come into the studio when I paint.
Louise. Two passions in one .... kitties and shells ... how did you know😊? Having inspired me with an earlier Seashells tutorial of yours, this limited palette and fine detail has taken watercolours to a whole new level. Thank you so much.
Awww Louise…..gorgeous painting, as always! Little Leo is just adorable!!! Thank you for including his little cameos! Thank you for your wonderful tutorials!!
I love the tiny details on the purple shells and I especially love the top smaller shell. When you added the darker yellow details it was magic. I’m always amazed too at how a painting suddenly becomes real with placement of shadows. I always feel inspired to up to my studio after watching you work.
Hi Louise, i got emotional right at the end to see Leo the cat..I am wanting to get back to my art after years of not drawing or painting so its so lovely to find you. I subscribed with all my heart. I lost my cats tragically 3 kittens I raised they were 1yr olds and not sure how to address the trauma of loosing them. I simply havent been able to address it without it killing me. Apologies for sharing this unexpectedly ..I hope drawing will be a beginning of being who I am freely. P.s I love shells so much :) look forward to see more .thank you Lia
Thank you for your lovely message. I'm so sorry for your loss. I have found that drawing and painting helps me put aside those things that trouble me. Sending you love and strength. 🥰
Lia, I am so sorry you have lost your precious kittens. I can hear the deep sorrow in your heart! I understand that pain of loss very well as I, too, have suffered such a loss. I will pray for your healing, dear Lia. God bless you! ~Susan
Fantastic painting! The details on the purple shells are amazing. How do you transfer such an intricate drawing so accurately? Would love a video on that please 🙏
I was so excited to see this seashell demo painting 😍 You are such an amazing teacher!! I just finished your sweet pea tutorial just before seeing this new video. Thanks for all you do Louise you are a gem🌸✨💕 Love your sweet cat too💙
Hi Louise. I love all your tutorials. I have a question about how you transfer your photo onto your watercolor paper. Do you draw it free hand or do you have another method. I'm trying to use my own photos ONLY instead of outlines from tutorials, but I struggle with how to get an accurate drawing without tracing it from a photo. Is it okay to trace from a photo or is that "cheating"?
Your Maestro is very well behaved compared to mine. I store mine tip up, wash and shape with Masters, don't use them to mix and they don't have much mileage yet, the tips split :( anyone have suggestions?
aw, little Leo. I can see he’s a menace 😹. Beautiful painting too!
Thank you, rewatching this has inspired me to do better and not be as clumsy with the paint and water.
Gorgeous! 🤩
Leo is lovely 🥰

Thank you Kathryn. He is cute - especially when he's asleep 😅.
@@LouiseDeMasi thank you. I have been painting in watercolor for 23 years. Even though I know all the basics, I still learn a lot from your videos
Really lovely and some great tips! Can I ask how you decide whether to paint on wet or dry paper?
Louise I Am a Patreon member of yours. Will you be putting the full tutorial on Patreon??
Hi Loren, The simpler shell painting I will be putting on Patreon- not the painting I demonstrated in this video.
@@LouiseDeMasi thats great thanks

Little Leo has thoroughly stolen the show. Cute baby.
Thanks Melodie. He's biting my ankles as I type this. 😬🌻

where did you get this palette?
Looks like cats are the same worldwide. 🇺🇸
Lol- yes! 😂
