Narsingh is considered fourth reincarnation of Vishnu, half of lion and half of man. There was a cruel demon called Hiranyakasyap, he got blessing of lord Brahma that he couldn't killed by a man or god or animal, not in the day or night, not out side and not inside and not by any weapon. so that's why Vishnu had forth incarnation half of lion and half of man and got success to kill cruel demon. so there was end of cruel demon.
