Loved this "Walk"-thru!
Niceee bruh
Ah, I "C" what you did there!
Love seeing each one of your videos! Definitely a lot of valuable information. Have you ever thought about doing some videos explaining how some famous charts work? I just love when you talk about what you did in sections of your charts, and when you talked about Time Check. Keep up the great videos!
Maybe one day! Honestly, I'm worried I'll get in trouble for playing famous charts or even showing bits of their scores.
Elliott KNOWS his stuff. Good on you, Elliott. Excellent video post.
Thank you. As a trumpet player, you just demystified the walking bass line for me!
Glad I can help! This was a mystery to me for years.
Thanks, Elliot, for the always-good advice!
thanks man! love your videos❤
Happy to hear that!
Excellent advice!
Thank you!
Just found your channel, so I'm a little late to the party. I don't play the bass, but it's obviously an essential component of a jazz arrangement and it provides that great feeling of forward hustle. Well done, Elliot! Looking forward to being on time in the future.
Welcome to the party!
Have subbed!
👌super
Thank you
Question: So you shouldn't care if the diatonic/chromatic walk theoretically clashes with horns' "walk"?
Loved your video, but am just curious why the 2nd beat of bar 2 is a B and not a Bb against the C9 which I took to be dominant? Is it OK in jazz to play a major 7 against a dominant chord?
I laugh everytime u laugh.. U made my day man..
Shouldn't C9 have a Bb not B natural?
Yes! Good eye.
Letsss gooo
Yessssssss!!!!
@@PandemoniumBigBand i want to take time to thank you properly man.. you contributed a lot to the producer that I am today. So yea I’m grateful
that simple huh? i always thought it was much more convoluted
Surprisingly simple. It takes a bit of harmonic knowledge to do it correctly though… chord/scale relationships.
@@PandemoniumBigBand that part is fun, figuring out what goes where. I lack the knowledge to do that confidently, but I'll get there eventually
A bass should walk rather than run. It's much more relaxing.
He's very good but he should stop that irritating laugh/giggle!
Who should? Me?
dont be a killjoy
