    Thank you so much!! This video was super helpful. I recently purchase this foundation in shade NC45 it matches but I still felt like something was off about it. I’ve been going back and forth about switching it for NC47 after watching many reviews but the color difference didnt seem big enough to be worth the switch. Your video showed me that I definitely need to switch to NC47 and it has what I was missing in NC45. I was also thinking about NC50 but now I see it’s not even close to what I need 😂

      Yes I felt the same way at first when I tried NC 45 initially. And yes NC 50 definitely won’t work for us. NC 47 just has that little extra color added that makes it work better. Get a sample if you need to before purchasing the whole foundation ❤

      i do know mac has a 45.5 shade in other* formulas. they don't usually even do half shades but it's such a difference in the 45-46 shade even. 45.5 is highly used and neccessary

    Have you tried NC45.5? I think I’m a similar complexion to you and have always struggled to find a good foundation match. Some will seem to have the right undertone but be too light, so I have to go a bit on the darker side which looks terrible in the winter. I always seem to be matched to warmer, orange, red & pink understories while I’m more yellow/olive. I haven’t been to Mac in so many years after being given a generic NW50 years ago which was completely wrong. I currently wear Fenty 390 but feel that it is too dark when it oxidises and eliminates that olivey undertone I have. I’m planning to go to mac this week so I can try the shades in this video.

      I’ve been told to try the 45.5 so many times I just may need to go do it
      You are so right about the 390 in Fenty. Please let me know if you tried the MAC and if it worked

    Thanks so much for this video. I have almost exactly the same complexion as you and just ordered MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation in C8, NC46 and NC47, and also the MAC radiant studio face and body foundation in C7 and C8. I think those should probably fit. I wasn't sure if NC45 would be too light or not, but based on your swatching, probably NC45 could be ok for me for winter, but not for the rest of the year. I totally agree with you about being meticulous about colour matching properly by the way, including asking for and using samples if necessary! Years and years ago a MAC employee had colour matched me with the Studio Fix powder foundation at N9 - it was all wrong for me! I can only use it as a bronzer or sometimes contour. It's too dark for me even in summer. I will never trust anyone else to colour match me again to be honest. We gotta do it ourselves and over a period of days after getting samples like you suggested. The NC47 is perfect for you! You are a gorgeous woman with or without foundation.

    Can you explain what it means that it oxidizes?

    • @TerriaLewis
      @TerriaLewis  Місяць тому

      Yes! Oxidizes means when it dries it changes to a different color leaving your skin tone to be off to where it doesn’t seem like a perfect match anymore

      Same, I've had to combine the two for a perfect match but looking for another brand because that's just too much work and too expensive!

    I asked for a sample of nc47 and the ulta lady had such a attitude, like she wasted her time helping me, only for me to ask for a sample 😅
