@@clampshadow5644 people who keep winning with unhealthy competition develop bad habits despite having the right mindset. Losing the bad habits while keeping the mindset is becoming a better version of yourself in this context
This moment, and Ego’s speech about it, made me respect Barou more completely than I ever had before. It’s easy to quit, or to get stuck doing the same things over and over hoping you’ll get lucky and that your moment will come if you wait. But Barou sat in that moment of utter despair, the realization he’d either been used as a tool or utterly useless for the whole match, and forced himself to grow and evolve in the moment. He refused to stagnate or quit.
it's crazy how barou is just like "damn it's so easy to fall into becoming a side character once im done being the villain and im on the protagonist's team" SO HIS ANSWER WAS TO STAY THE VILLAIN
Barou just became my favourite character. Can relate to him fully. As much as the world will try to force you to bend, you just gotta stay head strong and believe your way is the way to go.
Not necessarily, he adapted his way to fit a winning style. He passes to teammates and puts effort into defense, but he also lets everyone know he’s the top dog still. Stay head strong in an intelligent way, otherwise you’ll be useless in a changing world
Man saw his future flash before his eyes and denied its existence by not passing and doing them sick chop feints man and im so glad barou evolved at the last minute especially since the future has a lot more in store for our boy.
While the visuals were definitely great for this scene, the sound design was next level. The way the music trailed off right before he almost passed the ball and then how distorted it was when he gained his new aura, absolutely chilling.
Was just saying that on another clip. The sound design is insane. You feel every movement, the speed, the slow down , etc. I feel goosebumps whenever I hear it.
Barou's thought process is something that a lot of people need to know. If you keep being a supporting cast and just making the good ones look even better then you are gonna end up at tv watching them instead of playing with them..
I really love how the writer pictured the exact thought process of somebody trying to become the best. It´s very easy to doubt oneself to never get good enough - but giving up is the only thing that will never make you good enough
I know it doesn't fit into the short youtube clip thing, but I wish they'd let it go all the way through to the end of this scene where barou's song ends, because from the start of this to the finish is just a BEAUTIFUL demonstration of sound usage and meaning. From the starting somber melody to it being torn away, the streaking sound effects of barou's cuts, the crazy guitar and hard bass that culminates into every instrument trying to outdo each other on stage as an expression of his own style of soccer (Not shown here, but this song ends with the drums going into crazy blast beats, the guitar shredding into all kinds of crazy sounds, the bass going off in the background, etc.) It's just fantastic sound design and direction for the scene.
You can see how much barou loves football. Just for a simple pass, he saw himself failing in life. He dedicates his whole being to the sport and would rather perish than be second fiddle to anyone. KING
Fr. I thought Rin's awakening would be him realizing that he doesn't have to do/control everything alone and he can trust someone like Isagi to have his back. Then the subversion of that expectation to have Rin show his true style of destruction was so freaking great.

This shows how Isagi is a menace. He got Barou to give him a pass which caused him to feel defeat. This causes barou to evolve because he doesn't like being used by the guy he called "donkey"
Isagi devoured Barou,he devoured the king, and it got to a point where the king was about to give the crown ,HIS crown to someone he previously thought was inferior to him(the final pass), but Barou showed that he is a true king for not passing the ball and losing his king status, his pride, and later destroying the opposing team and scoring the winning Goal. There will be times that you simply can't win on your own no matter how skilled you are, and that's when you pass, maybe even hoping to get the ball back. It's a good point to note that the only reason the first and second chops worked is because they thought Barou might pass to Isagi now because of the previous pass. Otherwise they would have done him dirty again.
I love how it seems in this scene that Barou would overcome his demons by passing to Nagi or Isagi, but my expectations were completely turned around by his realisation that his dream can only be achieved if he's doing it by himself as the king he thinks he is, and that he get's rewarded for this.
