There is nothing I love more than the trope of a tiefling PC introducing themselves by casting Thaumaturgy and it being generally quite awkward because they hyped up their amazing magical powers or it just flat out isn't appropriate for the situation. Reminds me of when my first PC, an NG tiefling rogue, cast Thaumaturgy to show off to the party's wizard. I really wish the DM hadn't cancelled the campaign before we got to 3rd level which would have allowed me to unleash Hellish Rebuke and be all "who's magically handicapped now??!?"
That reminded me of my first campaign when a tiefling PC cast Thaumaturgy to trick my drunk-as-shit half-orc PC into leaving a tavern before I started a fight. Also it's really weird and also amazing that this trope is a Thing, apparently.
My Tiefling Barb usesThaumaturgy at the beginning of every fight to make her voice boom across the battlefield. She also was the commander of a Merc Unit once, where that also came in quite handy.
I made a tiefling wizard, but I didn't choose any combat spells at first level. I wanted to be useful in a fight we had with some goblins and wanted to help out our paladin who was fighting one of them. So I made a branch behind the goblin scream. In the paladin's voice. For a whole minute.
I just started watching campaign 2 -- just finished 1 -- and yeah, she's stealing the show. Laura was funny but Vex was boring in campaign 1. Now Laura and her character get to be funny. Good change.
to add to my growing appeal of jester a few days ago was sydney supanova, one of our conventions, and in the artist ally was a woman dressed as jester with fake horns and blue facepaint and it was wonderful and even better, i turned to my friend who i had shown this clip but who otherwise isnt much for d&d and was referencing it when the artist piped up and said 'that wasnt me, it was just very windy that day'
the accent makes the character in many ways id say, the exotic (to us western people) accent compliments the nonhuman teifling, and the voice really fits the cheerful demeanor of said tiefling\
One time I met somebody from Quebec and their voice sounded just like hers, so maybe it’s a French Canadian accent. (I’m Canadian, but live in Ontario and don’t interact with people from other provinces very often, so I don’t know.)
this. this is the animatic that got me into critical roll. and i have been blessed for many many mooms because of it. i've been a critter for nearly a year because of this, and i have loved every moment since then. thank you, friend, thank you so much.

I don't know what Critical Role is but I am looking it up right away. Both the art and the story were adorable and hilarious. The guy just clapping and cheering at the end had my sides hurting after they were reminded to "keep a low profile". lol
I think it would be awesome to watch the person playing the character that was casting the spell to see what they would do while playing an assassin or thief.
My guess is Slavic (Russian, Ukrainian, etc) or maybe from Farsi. I have a boss from Russia that sounds like that, and I had a teacher from the Iran who sounded like that. Unfortunately, they don't have cute personalities like her.
I like to imagine that a couple people in the tavern were running around the carnival wondering where her show was.
Probably came a bit later on. You know. They just couldn't stay for that part.
Was probably after the devil toad act

Thaumaturgy's uses- quantity over quality.

its Tali reincarnated as a lovable teifling cleric

Generally speaking, it's Eastern European.
