There's been talk that they've already shot scenes for season 6, so it's basically all but confirmed that there will be. Also, now that Cobra Kai is done, for now, could you consider doing this with the anime History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi?
For me having the old characters back has been excellent. Especially Chozen. I think Chozen has definitely reclaimed his sense of honor and has made real friendships.... Let's see what Sensei thinks of the battles this episode!!!
He gets drunk and starts a fight with a man in his own home. He attacks innocent people. He never wins a one on one fight. He's not very strong or honorable. If anything it shows that Danial has been hanging out with villains when they all decide to attack the guy's house.

Like Yusuke, Kreese’s “death” fooled me too. I really did not see Kreese’s turnabout at the end coming. All in all I really loved the whole season, and found it very satisfying. And yet again, I’m stoked and itching for Season 6.
I predicted that he had faked his death, because him dying by being stabbed by some random guy in prison felt so pointless that it would have been kinda bad writing imho.
everything is about to go beyond the next level, now they'll have to deal with the Kim Sun-Yung dojo, and if they win the sekai taikai their evil style will poison the planet

19:00 The other thing is this is the 5th season, means 5th year.. So a lot of these actors have been legit training martial arts for 5 years. Well probably not all of them but there are some who got into it and probably did actually train regularly. and it shows.
As for Daniel beating Silver, contrast it to Jhonny being nearly defeated but getting up and destroying those guys when he saw the baby's picture. He has something to fight for and overcome besides himself. On the other hand, Silver's has nothing but ego to fight for, and that was already taken from him by Chozen. He's all alone. He has no "egg to protect" so no second wind for him. This creates an interesting conflict for S6, as both Kreese and the Korean sensei do have things to fight for: Jhonny's love and her family's legacy, respectively.
20:35 for u guys who didint understand. Daniel used the Quick Silver method against silver. 1. He couldnt stand bcs of Daniel. 2. The Yama Zuki made him unable to breath. 3. The crane kick was in his eyes/face so he couldnt see
Did people not understand that? If so, that's amazing considering the show is literally showing it to them right there on-screen in slow motion with flashbacks.
So for me Kim Da-eun is the star of this season and really took it to the next level. Before now the show was great and amazing fight scenes but Kim Da-eun took it to the level of the old kung fu movies. That scene with her Chozen and Daniel where she's like "You wish to fight? Joon bi!" and they all get ready is iconic. And her energy is also next-level. Silver does crazy things like burning down Barnes' furniture store and he gets angry at Chozen and Daniel and he is really great but every second Alicia Hannah-Kim is on screen she just dominates everything. And she warned Silver over and over... If Kim Da-eun finds out what Silver did to Kreese I think Silver will be outcasted from Cobra Kai / Kim Sum Yung style forever. Her and Kreese have a connection you can see in the flashback when he lies about breaking the vase to protect her, and then winks at her and the way she is looking at him.. And how disappointed she was to hear he's no longer involved with Cobra Kai. And Kreese probably knows about her because they don't always show everything but I'm sure Tory told him "They brought in all these senseis from overseas and this one really scary woman with a long ponytail. He probably knows. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if that was his plan if he got out of prison was to tell Kim Da-eun what happened. and that would bring Silver down because Silver is no match for her I think. He can probably beat the other guys but not her, because she's Master Kim's granddaughter.
My guess is Kreese is going to go after Silver, only to find out he has already fled, (or as some have speculated, dying of a terminal illness, which is why he is so obsessed with legacy.) and he meets Kim Da-Eun again. Who then decides to use her money and influence to help smuggle Kreese out of the US and to S. Korea where he will help whatever is left of Cobra Kai train for the Seiki Takai tournament.
I was expecting Mike [Barnes] to be a bad guy this season, I actually quite liked the character. The part about him wanting to apologize to Daniel all these years but didn't want to trigger him, so he didn't, I understand that.
I wonder if Mike was in some form of recovery (AA or NA) that because of losing his store he fell out of sobriety. Step 8 and 9 are about making amends, unless to do so would cause more injury.
@@kevinsnazz not what I meant. The board sent Barnes the ban in his mail and Daniel kept it upheld when he got his seat. Barnes Grew up and probably kept trying to get it reversed while Daniel was building up his Automotive Career some time before Mr Miyagi asked him to begin teaching Miyagi Do
I agree with you that in this series they really like doing the "push" style of front kick. Personally, I think that it's because it looks cooler on camera because they are knocking someone back and away. A stabbing kind of kick would work just as well, but not look as cool on screen.
As an 80's baby who grew up with the Karate Kid trilogy of movies, like many American kids after seeing the movie, I got into Karate and later on Taekwondo. From about the time I was 8 or 9 years old, until I was about 17, shortly before I graduated high school at least. I ended as a brown belt in Taekwondo. So basically the Cobra Kai series is the ultimate nostalgia feel-good trip for me. I'm in my 30s now and I've forgotten pretty much everything I was ever taught as a kid, but the series definitely gives me that urge to get back into it, a pretty powerful one too lol. All the fight scenes are so good, you can tell the consultants and trainers on the film know what they're doing very well and they really pay so much homage to the original films and styles. I'm so glad they've been able to get so many of the original actors to return and reprise their roles.
I'm exactly like you, grew up in the States as a child, now in my 40s but was in elementary school during the first trilogy. The movie prompted me to take martial arts classes and ended with a green belt tae kwon do after finishing high school. Took a bit of aikido and judo in college but never made it to karate! The Cobra Kai series is a great trip down memory lane for me as well.

I really enjoy your channel and the genuine “in-the-moment” reactions to the episodes. I also really appreciate the Japanese terminology you provide to educate on the different techniques and process.
Very knowledgeable, experienced and accurate Sensei with an eye for detail. You seem like a great teacher and person! I am sure it's nice to learn from you. Wish you all the best!
You should watch some Cobra Kai behind the scenes, it shows some of the work that the actors do behind the scenes and also you get to see some of the personality of the actors.
You are my favorite reactor to cobra Kai, partially because I never really knew about it until several months ago I was wondering what real karate peopl felt about the original Karate Kid and found your reactions to it. The rest is history as here we are
Korea also has swordstyles (It's called Gumdo I think). It's based on Japanese Kenjutsu, but it has a lot more flashy techniques (spinning the sword and using it one-handed) just like taekwondo is a more flashy kind of karate. It has already been established that Terry Silver was trained in Korean martial arts (Tang Soo Do) and not Japanese martial arts, so I guess this is consistency.
Hi, Gumdo is the Korean version of Kendo, Haedong Gumdo is a more flashy form of Iaido or Battodo. There was a whole lawsuit about it back in the 90's I think. With the Korean Gumdo Association suing the Korean Haidong Gumdo Association for using too similar a name, and for dishonest buisness practices. (They claimed that the Haidong Gumdo schools were making up their lineage and it was false advertising.)
I never expected the series to become so violent. But I kind a like it that the teens do "non lethal" stuff and were the ones taking the majority of the action while the adults get their epic part at the end of everything and on an adultish level.
I just drank my beer watching Rocky II before watching your reaction, so I had to put another one in the fridge :D Great reaction btw., Kreese's "death" fooled me first in fact, but I was too focused on the others to think about it. I loved this finale, my favourite part was Johnny kicking in that new gear - as the rock song started playing, I knew it :D
There was talk of season six even before season 5 came out. They have plans for it but haven't written it yet. The show runners are working on another show right now but will start to write season 6 after they're done with that show. Netflix hasn't renewed it yet but it would be silly for them not to since it's their #1 show.
Great video, lots of info on techniques(and sake, lol). Season Six is loosely confirmed as far as I know. They haven't started writing it yet because they're working on another series unrelated to Karate Kid, called "Obliterated" if I'm not mistaken.
I just barely stumbled across your videos and then happened upon your reaction to cobra kai season 1. Ended up binging all your videos for all 5 seasons in two days😂you just got yourself a new subscriber and I’ll be seeing your reactions for season 6! Keep up the awesome work!
I've just finished watching all of your reaction videos to cobra kai. I've enjoyed watching this series since it first showed on youtube before netflix bought it. As a fan of the original movies to and a kid that was also at that time it's great to see the mix of old and new cast. 👍
@@steveleeart the writers said that they haven’t started writing it because they are working on another show but once they are done with that they will begin writing s6
I like the innuendo of playing "my way", as in the original song by Claude François, it is about a man being deceitful, and how he keeps tricking everyone and himself on keeping playing his game of trickery. In context of the of song, it's about loved ones, but here, it could sound as kreese never giving up fooling everyone
I don't think this will be the last season. With the build up for the Sekai Taikai, Kreese out of prison, Mike being very under utilized and Silver's goons still active, I'm sure there's still much for this series to offer. Season 6 could possibly even be one big tournament arc.
Season 6 tournament, Miguel makes at least final. Watched by Hector, who figures out who Miguel really is. And there you have 1 angle for season 7 ... Oh since it's a global tournament, why not host it in Okinawa :)
Also, I think that Silver is dying (cancer from the war?), Mike gets 50 percent of Cobra Kai, something something something Kreese gives his share to Johnny?..... Johnny and Mike run Cobra Kai?
@@Chrysophrase2 Johnny reclaiming his role as leader of Cobra Kai definitely seems like a fitting end. Either that, or he'll realize that Cobra Kai should stay dead and stick with Eagle Fang.
A producer of Cobra Kai did a Q&A and pretty much confirmed that there will be a season 6 but they have not written it yet so yeah pumped for season 6 already Btw best reactor ever i love watching you i enjoy it so much
There are still some storylines that need to play out, like Chozen and Kumiko getting together. Also they've found a way to bring in most but not all of the past characters, into the series...in particular, Julie (Hilary Swank) from "The Next Karate Kid". Though she wasn't a part of the first 3 movies, it would be a great way to honor the legacy of Mr. Miyagi (and Pat Morita for that matter) by having both his students appear in Cobra Kai.
After watching another reaction, they pointed out something I didn’t notice. When Daniel stopped Terry’s punch with his knee, he actually stopped it with both his elbow and knee at the same time like a clamp.
According to the information they are planning a season 6 but in my opinion this episode would serve a a perfect book ending to the original Karate Kid, Daniel has matured into a good Sensei and has overcome past traumas, the series has given each one of Daniel's rivals redemption archs which shows how they also have overcome the past. I think the idea that the invitation for Cobra Kai to be in the tournament would be rescinded based on the desire for the tournament to not be embarrassed in lite of the new evidence of Cobra Kai. Further I imagine once word got out that most if not all Cobra Kai students in the other dojos would also leave. As for Kreese we learned how he became like he is and how despite being given several chances was not interested in repenting but only sought to further his agenda regardless of who he had to manipulate, but seeing him walk out of the jail with us not knowing as he himself does not know what comes next gave me a feeling that he was walking off into the sunset with no regrets because he had done it his way.
His grip is unusual. And, yes, he doesn't use the sword like you would in a japanese martial art. In kendo, you rarely see a one-handed grip but it's more common in some ken-jutsu styles, especially when stabbing.
As soon as Chozen busted out the sai I was eager to see you watch this one..haha, great breakdown as always. Had me some Japanese whiskey while ya broke the episode down. I liked the way the season ended though, on the one hand it could end here and be ok but there's still plot threads to explore if they get renewed.
Thomas Ian Griffith is an awesome actor. While it's not a martial arts movie, take a watch of Vampires. He plays the vampire Valek. It's definitely not reaction video material, but TIG is really, REALLY good as the main baddie.
What's interesting at 13:19 in this video Chozen broke the end off of Terry's Katana by twisting the Sai, it probably saved his life when Terry cut his back. Also the reason why they use push kicks is because it allows the stunt actors to react as push kicks connect, there's an interesting video on the StillWatchingNetflix channel where The Corridor Crew recreate Cobra Kai stunts in their Punch 4 Punch series that might be worth reacting to.
So was Bert he was kicked out in season 3 as well just because he couldn't feed Clearance to the snake, but he didn't betray Miyagi-Fang. But then again, it was Cobra Kai who did also throw him through LaRusso's kitchen window
I loved all your commentary!! Thank you! This series of your videos was very entertaining. The one thing I would change, is I would pause the videos while pouring on the drinks and commenting on them, otherwise it looks on the video as if you miss some of the scenes. Other than that I'm happy to see you enjoy your drinks and I'm watching this with my own vodka. Kanpai!
I’d love to know Yusuke’s take on this - I don’t know about anyone else’s take, but Daniel’s moves at the last fight with Silver reminded me very much of Miyagi’s / Pat Morita’s moves in the films. I don’t know if it was intentional, but when I made the connection, it gave me chills for a second.
They haven't started writing season 6 yet bc they pushed so hard and fast to get 5 out to keep up with stranger things. But they definitely have some big plans for 6. Hope Cobra Kai (show) never dies lol great reaction tho, had fun drinking with you 😆
There's a lot to say about this episode. Please bear with me. First off, Daniel's three former rivals now friends are finally teaming up. I'm not surprised that Johnny would be on board with Mike's ambush, but Chozen is on another level. I was sad that Mike didn't get to do much, but I was told that the actor Sean Kanan had a shoulder injury. That's completely understandable. Hopefully he returns in the next season with more room to work on. If Daniel, Johnny and Chozen can have redemption arcs of their own, so can Mike. Second, with Silver out of the picture and whether the Cobra Kai dojo continues or not, we can presume that Sensei Kim will be the next main antagonist. Third, my favorite part of the episode was that Demetri finally settled his score with Kyler. For me, that and the rival trio team-up were the funniest scenes in the entire season. And of course, I have to talk about Miguel and Sam. The only thing that would have made the reconciliation more wholesome to me is that Miguel would offer to place the golden octopus necklace around her. My biggest hope for them at the moment is that we get to explore their dynamic with no further hindrances involved. And finally, I should acknowledge the possibility that we may see Julie Pierce later on. Seasons 3 and 5 helped bring closure to the original trilogy. Furthermore, Mr. Miyagi's legacy and positive influence were explored throughout the show. With all of that said and with the global tournament approaching, Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do may need help from one more sensei.

Hi,
Gumdo is the Korean version of Kendo, Haedong Gumdo is a more flashy form of Iaido or Battodo.
They definitely left room for another season. I was pretty happy with this one too, looking forward to another.
We are all excited for season 6!!! Cant wait to also watch your video reaction on season 6 sensei!!!
#cobrakaineverdies
Had so much fun watching ur reactions... see you for season 6 and the movie.. thank you for your time
This was such a good episode! The final part with kreese surprised me. Should have known better with him.
I never expected the series to become so violent. But I kind a like it that the teens do "non lethal" stuff and were the ones taking the majority of the action while the adults get their epic part at the end of everything and on an adultish level.
I love they said "bad boy of karate" each time Mike is presented
How does Chozen know Mike Barnes was the bad boy of karate did he liek watch tournaments back in Okinawa to find out?
I just drank my beer watching Rocky II before watching your reaction, so I had to put another one in the fridge :D
Great reaction btw., Kreese's "death" fooled me first in fact, but I was too focused on the others to think about it. I loved this finale, my favourite part was Johnny kicking in that new gear - as the rock song started playing, I knew it :D
21:47 no , there will be season 6 but it’s probably will come out 2022/2023
Can’t wait lol it’s going to be good
Me: takes two weeks to binge watch cobra Kai season 5
Also me: binge watches all of Yusekes reaction videos in one day.
You have the best Cobra Kai reaction videos. I look forward to seeing season 6 and seeing your reactions to it. 🙂👍🏻
This reaction was good like always this episode is what the past seasons led to I'm happy Johnny and Daniel r like bros now
Koniciwa Sensi waKU!!! Greetings from America!! You will love this ending !!!
There was talk of season six even before season 5 came out. They have plans for it but haven't written it yet. The show runners are working on another show right now but will start to write season 6 after they're done with that show. Netflix hasn't renewed it yet but it would be silly for them not to since it's their #1 show.
Great reactions! Thanks for this! The long wait for season 6 begins though.
I believe that they are doing a season six ☺️
Also I love your reaction's to the cobra Kai episodes also great job 👍
Thanks so much for posting your videos with your commentary! This show is AWESOME!
It’s been fun watching this season with you!
Great video, lots of info on techniques(and sake, lol). Season Six is loosely confirmed as far as I know. They haven't started writing it yet because they're working on another series unrelated to Karate Kid, called "Obliterated" if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks for sharing Sensei! Greetings from Mexico.
Season 6 is officially the final badass season
I just barely stumbled across your videos and then happened upon your reaction to cobra kai season 1. Ended up binging all your videos for all 5 seasons in two days😂you just got yourself a new subscriber and I’ll be seeing your reactions for season 6! Keep up the awesome work!
Funny part is, I watched S5 with my friend. When Kreese "died" I was like, "He faked his death again, he's alive"
90% drinking
9% ads
1% actual watching
I've just finished watching all of your reaction videos to cobra kai. I've enjoyed watching this series since it first showed on youtube before netflix bought it. As a fan of the original movies to and a kid that was also at that time it's great to see the mix of old and new cast. 👍
Terry Silver's teachings of Quicksilver with Daniel, 30+ years later, would be his undoing.
This is going to be epic!!!
Enjoyed watching this season with you. Yes they have confirmed season 6!
@@steveleeart the writers said that they haven’t started writing it because they are working on another show but once they are done with that they will begin writing s6
8:34 "Penis breath how could you ??" May be one of the funniest lines uttered in this show lol
There is going to be season 6 to answer your question Yusuke! Might be a good time to take some predicts!
Great reaction! Sake is looking very good. I’ll have to find those to try them out soon!
Wish we could.see your reactions to the whole episode. There was so much more to that episode than just the fight scenes
@@DaveCrokaert good idea, a tournament in Okinawa would be awesome
Also, they're talking about bringing back Hilary Swank. We still haven't seen Tories mother just her legs from bed.
A producer of Cobra Kai did a Q&A and pretty much confirmed that there will be a season 6 but they have not written it yet so yeah pumped for season 6 already
Btw best reactor ever i love watching you i enjoy it so much
"Turn super saiyan!"
-Yusuke 2022
If Chozen wasn't drunk, I figure the fight would have been more evenly matched.
Nah Chozen would literally play around with Silver Silver i’d done even though both were drunk Cozen wins no problem
Yes, I wonder if that was an homage to the movie Kuro Obi.
Johnny at Silver's house was the epitome of "Man literally too angry to die"
Silvers one-handed grip on the sword reminded me more of a fencer grip, only without the bent knees for fencing movement.
His grip is unusual. And, yes, he doesn't use the sword like you would in a japanese martial art. In kendo, you rarely see a one-handed grip but it's more common in some ken-jutsu styles, especially when stabbing.
Johnny instinctively threw can to Daniel
As soon as Chozen busted out the sai I was eager to see you watch this one..haha, great breakdown as always. Had me some Japanese whiskey while ya broke the episode down. I liked the way the season ended though, on the one hand it could end here and be ok but there's still plot threads to explore if they get renewed.
One drink is not enough
incredibly badass that you are doing shots while reacting!!
The most loveliest thing bringing sake i had celebration of a drink too in honer its been a fun journey
I mean, Penis Breath never left Cobra Kai, he just was kicked out by Kreese in S3, so, somewhat makes sense
So was Bert he was kicked out in season 3 as well just because he couldn't feed Clearance to the snake, but he didn't betray Miyagi-Fang. But then again, it was Cobra Kai who did also throw him through LaRusso's kitchen window
I binged watched you today. Thank you.
The first 5 episodes of Season 6 come out July 18 2024, 5 more in August and the final 5 next year
I loved all your commentary!!
My guy is talking about sake while kreese is so called dieing and again there arguing and he says hmmm it smells of rice 😂
Kreese dying:
Yusuke: so yeah i like this sake
They haven't started writing season 6 yet bc they pushed so hard and fast to get 5 out to keep up with stranger things. But they definitely have some big plans for 6. Hope Cobra Kai (show) never dies lol great reaction tho, had fun drinking with you 😆
Enjoyed it. Hopefully we'll get the other last samurai parts now.
Johnny got a zenkai boost in that fight 😅
@6:14 there are 3 key features in this online university
1: strike 1st
2: strike hard
3: no mercy
You're great thanks for the videos man
I just found your channel and I love your breakdowns - subscribed
0:10 Strong wind, strong sun, strong sake?😂
Love the videos you're putting out. Great reactions series.
Love your reaction videos. Somehow you always notice and predict things I don't, it's impressive.
Netflix hasn’t confirmed it but the cobra Kai team has confirmed they’re making a s6. However they haven’t started writing it yet.
Love you reacting to these!!!
