What an awesome resource you are. This video made me change my idea of using powershell from "run for the hills" to 'this is actually pretty cool". Thank you sir.
Amazing content, Mr. Berg! I have become a fan and have sib'd to your awesome channel! Thank you so much for your hard work in putting these amazing, so helpful and valuable videos!
Hello, I want to set up a local network with Internet connection, a modem, a server that I installed using the dhcp method, and a modem that has dhcp enabled. I want the clients to get the IP from the server and from the internet modem, can I do this with the firewall settings?
Hi Joe - the playlist is still going. Haven't posted for a bit, but you'll see some activity and updates over the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the note!
Hi I checked online but did not understand got a bit confused it says here standard edition allows upto 2 virtual machines with one hyper-v host per license and Data center offers unlimited virtual machines plus one hyper-v host per license. This 2 virtual machine on standard is this on hyper v?
It’s a license thing. With both server standard and datacenter you can install as many virtual machines as your hardware will allow, but with server standards you can activate 2 virtual servers with your host license but with datacenter you can activate more/all. For a lab you can just go with datacenter edition unless you specifically want to test standard only features
Some useful features cannot run in core mode. I tested AAD connect and it failed. I think Microsoft has almost gave up expanding Server Core features since 2016...
I am watching this video on Windows Server 2022 Core lol. If you're wondering how I got a web browser on server core, I installed chrome from a usb flash drive and added the chrome installation to the PATH variable. (I also have some other basic applications installed)

So much effort to set a basic parameter through the command-line, and you need a second computer to refer to a GUI. The server still has a GUI: you can see windows popping up. Microsoft ripped out a true full screen textmode some time ago. A basic Windows2000-like GUI wouldn't have any footprint.

vmware works fine, there is no limit for virtual machines with vmware.

Given the demo of a pretty locked down firewall even for basic pinging, perhaps firewall is again to blame...

Hi, I installed Windows server by mistake and now I don't know how to go back to normal. By any chance you know how can I fix that?
@@crapit1807 wdym by that, convert from core to gui or convert from windows serevr to normal windows?
im afraid in both cases youll have to reinstall

@@NotThatEpic7492 well if that's the only way I would do It, the thing is that I don't know how.

To Nano is better , 😆
Nano is pretty much gone.
@@mdd1963 As it evolved from server core the share the same structure, with the nano server is lighter
NanoServer was a thing back in WS2016; you will find no such mention of that install option anymore, as MS has deprecated it.@@ZGoddessLola
