Beyond Cancer. Navigating Now! Another First. Love Shared is Multiplied. Sorrow Shared is Divided.

I recorded this video on a walk yesterday mid-way through our first anniversary date following Tim’s passing. The afternoon following it unfolded beautifully. I received many kind and loving messages and a beautiful orange rose, Tim’s favorite flower, bouquet upon my return home. The girls and I got dressed up and enjoyed a lovely dinner out together.
Prior to leaving work for the day I took down pictures I had posted on my wall nearly 8 years ago, many of which were art work and photos of the girls. They provided me some consolation when I arrived at work each day a good distance from where they were at home and school.
As I removed each image from the wall and pulled the sticky tape off the backs, I felt a shift happening whereby I was replacing a physical reminder of them with steps toward a life in which I get to spend actual time with them.
The day was filled with both love and sorrow. Sharing it magnified one while diminishing the other. All in all it turned out to be a beautiful first postmortem anniversary date.
