I'm so glad you talked about rabbits, everyone thinks they are so easy and inexpensive 😭 I work at a pet store and I think I scare people away when I go in depth about their care😂 probably for the best though
I have had many people ask about them and tell them that they’re high maintenance and that they’re not the best pets for children under the age of 13 and to do lots of research before deciding to get one
fr!! i work at a pet store where we currently have about 10 in store and we clean theri cages twice a day and oh my god they are always disgusting and i basically have to do a complete bed change each time i "spot" clean.
@@paigenorkus7047 honestly not really, it depends on the fish of course but they're actually quite expensive in terms of total cost. fish are very delicate and most people don't want to pay a lot for a fish so they don't get the right tank size for them. plus unless the parents are going to be invested as taking on the fish as theirs than go ahead because a small child will not know about water quality, proper diet, tank size, water changes, ect.. :/
yesssss! I told my fiance that after our last guinea pig passes away we will not be getting more. While I love my guinea pigs and wouldn't change the fact I got them, they're so hard to care for. I feel like no matter how hard I try to give them the best and do the best I can, it's never perfect because things always come up with guinea pigs. They also have a whole world of medical issues that you need to keep a close eye on because they will go south very quickly. They definitely should not be considered a kid pet.
What pellets do you feed that have dried fruit? It sounds like you care about them a lot and any feed with dried fruit is known to be really unhealthy :/ Stall pellets are the same as the expensive pellets in the small bag.
I wish I had realized the baby bunny I found in my flowerbed after Easter needed a friend. He was amazingly smart & full of attitude--much more personality than I ever expected. Great advice for anyone considering a rabbit.
I’ve had rabbits for a long time. A few hacks here - 1: Use the pelleted wood bedding (typical made for horses) in their litter pans, it’s cheaper and last way longer -2: buy the hay in BULK it’s sooooo much easier and cheaper -3: check to see if your local shelter spays/neuters rabbits, it can be wayyyy cheaper. My rabbits were $50 each vs $350 at the vet. -4: just let the bunny free roam in a room, you won’t have to buy a cage and they will be cheaper!! LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! 💕
I did the 4th one before I moved out of my parents' house! My mom didn't want him inside, so he was living in a hutch for a little while which I hated (I got him before I knew how dangerous this actually is, so learn from my mistake people and do your research before!). But I had my room rabbit-proofed for when he'd play in my room, and one night I was watching a video in bed while he was having playtime in my room and I fell asleep. He was just chilling when morning came and I sort of just moved him into my room. My mom just told me "if he ruins anything, then you're paying for it." There was never an issue haha ! And now he free roams my rabbit-proofed apartment whenever I'm awake and home. I just have him confined to a pretty large hallway when I'm not awake or home to supervise just for safety reasons.
Mandyloves Games that’s how my rabbit became indoors!! My parents wouldn’t let me have her inside then I just slowly brought her in everyday for longer and longer and then boom she’s an indoor bunny! 😂
I had a rabbit when I was around 8 years old, and looking back I really wish my parents had done more for them. I kind of want to get one again and do better by them.
I have a room dedicated to my 2 rabbits, and finding a mate was a bit hard, before I could find my rabbit a mate I caught my cat going into the room everyday and playing with him 🥰❤ it was so sweet to watch
You have no idea how many times you have helped me when it comes to animal care. The way you maintain your babies is so refreshing. I just love knowing that there are still good people out there that really do care. Thx love!
made me so happy seeing ur rabbits so happy and in a large outdoor play space but that its not kept out there 100% of the time- makes me heartbroken seeing the way most people treat their rabbits
ThANK YOU for talking about rabbits. I had two and they were no easy task. I miss them so much and the hard work I put in was always worth it but people never really believe me when I'd talk about all the things i had to buy and do for them. I did so much research and I'm so glad I was hopefully able to give my bunnies good lives.
Someone broke into our garage when I was a kid where my white rabbit bun bun was and drop kicked him across our lawn in his cage and we came home to him having passed away. My dog trump who is a German Shorthaired pointer loved him and never went after him which was nice. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
unless it’s changed, it’s your rabbits! I remember you saying in either another pet video or on your insta story But we love Brixton, Olive and Penny 🐰 glad you are able to love and care for them the way you do !
OMG yes!!! Of all the animals I own, my American Rabbit is the most time-consuming and high-maintenance. I took him in as a rescue and he has definitely given me a run for my money
We have 2 rabbits and a room in the house dedicated for them. I would also add that they chew on everything and they specialize in cord destruction, especially the tasty charger cords. We also let ours outside in a pen for rumpus time, but since the recent RHDV-2 outbreak, our hoppers are under quarantine just like us.
I subscribed. I'm glad someone else thinks rabbits are high maintenance also. I have a disabled rabbit and another with molor spurs. Lots of sleepless nights up when they go through stasis. Massages, gut motility meds every 12 hours, gas drops every 3 hours, and pain meds every 24 hours. Keeping them warm if giving sub q fluids and supplemental feeding. Plus they need as much room as a cat or dog.
I have 2 rabbits, ( Male Holland Lop, and a Female Holland Lop+Rex Mix) and for me they are really easy to care for. Here’s what I do: -I just buy hay in a 25lb. Bulk and it’s about $35 on amazon. -I also buy pellets in bulk, it’s $15 and comes in 40lb. Bag. -I also use a 40lb. Bag of pine horse stall bedding at tractor supply for $5 -both of my rabbits have a DIY cage made out of C&C Grids, which I held together With zip ties, and it’s great because you can make it as big as you like. I also have an X-pen (large dog pen) that I use as a cage as well. Just some tips that I do ❤️
Beautiful video on bunnies! They are so much work, but so worth it! They really do bond with you and it’s just something to treasure! Out bunnies free roam, bond with the cats and are just amazing! Care recommendations seem to vary youtuber to youTuber...site to site... which can be confusing to anyone who lacks personal experience. Please don’t get a bunny unless you’re ready to work for and with him or her. They aren’t easy! They aren’t Easter gifts. They aren’t for rough little kids unless you’re able to consistently and constantly watch and educate your child. Thanks for such a great video!!!❤️
I have two bonded sister Mini Rex Buns. They are so awesome. Thank you for making this video… I think there are a lot of people out there that even with the best intentions go on uneducated about the proper care of rabbits.
Richard Branson's book is one of my favorites. I read it while I was in school for business and have kept it for years. That man is a business genius! I miss my bunny everyday. I rescued Pumpernickle while I was in college and he was the absolute best.
I live in Southern Pennsylvania and my neighbors have rabbit hunting dogs - beagle dogs, they run rabbits then just let them run loose.. I feed around 5 rabbits a day that live in my barn..
I totally agree with you! We have 3 cats, a chameleon (that we found on the street in NJ) and a guinea pig. The guinea pig is the most high maintenance animal we have. Cage cleaning, nail trimming, grooming, food. We spend so much money on the guinea pig. He gets a salad every night and hay all day plus his kibble to eat. We spend about $250 a month on him. Definitely not an easy animal for a child. 💛
I'm allergic too hay as well, same reaction.. learned almost the same way.. except I was feeding at a fair haha. Was wonderful. I cant believe it's a rabbit.. but makes sense lol.
I give our rabbit orchard grass hay instead of Timothy because I am very allergic to Timothy hay as well. You could slowly switch to that (if they’ll eat it) or give them a mix so you can feed them hay yourself sometimes if you want. Orchard grass hay is the perfect alternative to Timothy.
I love that you do these videos. About a year or two ago I was going to get a bunny but after watching any video I could find on your channel I decided that wasn't a good choice because I would not be able to care for it properly. So thank you for your knowledge.
I had a single rabbit for 2 years until we moved her to my bfs house and were able to get her a mate and omg the difference was incredible! She turned into a whole different rabbit and now they’re inseparable. 💕
Hands down, I have 11 pets, 6 of which are spayed/neutered rabbits and no doubts, its definitely the highest maintenance pets I own. It takes me so much time and money daily to care after them. I absolutely love them, but they are far from the easy beginner pet stores sells them as.
Sarah Mancera I know this was months ago but I’m a new subscriber so just read your comment. Wanted to say I’m so sorry for your loss. Had to make you so sad. Hope you are feeling better now.
I didn’t think I was allergic to anything until I started feeding my rabbit hay, my allergies were super crazy until I changed to oxbow brand hay instead of kaytee and oddly my allergies went away. My rabbit definitely is expensive and unfortunately I can not afford to spay her or get her a friend, but she seems pretty happy and my cats are always around her so I feel she doesn’t seem lonely. sometimes they groom her which she oddly loves. She will always run up to one of my cats and put her head down in front of him to get groomed haha. I’ve had her for 3 years & I love her so much I couldn’t imagine my life without her. I got her impulsively at a pet store with no knowledge but I’m so glad I had the Internet to show me the way Quickly. she definitely is a healthy and happy bunny. And Definitely my favorite animal as well.
I Love seeing her little popcorn jumps. I grew up with my Mom having a rabbit for 12 years . He grew up with our Boston terriers and thought he was one of the dogs. When I was 17 and pregnant he moved with me and was alot of work but he was very bonded with my dog Boss Hog so he was happy and I would Love to have another but not now because I am to sick to give it all of the attention they need. I do have 3 small dogs who do popcorn jumps and crack me up daily.
My two bunnies are free ranged in my room! They absolutely love it... but they do have the tendency to chew on anything wood, which is annoying but it’s what I signed up for
Rats Edit: I forgot you had rabbits. I've had many different animals and anything that poops all day long always seems to be high maintenance. Snakes are one of the least time consuming animals I've owned.
Guinea pigs are the same my girls passed away a couple years ago and I decided to rescue at a shelter 2 boys 2-3 weeks ago forgot how high maintenance they were
Kristin Tractor Supply has 40 lb bags of pine equine bedding for $5 and that's what I use for litter. My rabbits are free roam and litter trained. I think many people don't realize how smart they are! Love this video!! ❤
Been waiting for a video on this channel since you said it was coming. Good luck with the move and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this and your beauty channel 💚
I clicked on this video TOTALLY thinking it was going to be a video about chameleons. Imagine my surprise to find one of the easiest pets on the planet listed instead.
Wow!! I never knew any of the info you shared about rabbits! I'm glad I seen your video because I actually considered getting my son a rabbit in place of a cat that has really become high maintenance lately. Thank you for doing this video.
im allergic to timothy hay and i have a bunny, i use orchad grass and my babie loves it! i feed mainly hay, unlimited, 1/4 cup of pellets and about 2 cups of 4 different leaffy greens 1 time a day, hes super healthy
We loved our Oreo. She was the best. We had her cage in the livingroom which was left open during the day and she had the run of the house. She got along great with our dogs and cat. We were heartbroken when she passed. She was 7yrs old
I used the same stuff for my rabbits that I use for cat litter which is like compressed pine pellets used for horse stables, really cheap and no chemicals and what not as it's designed for animals
I’m new to your channel and it cracks me up how many times I’ve heard you say “I was going to re-home...” I think I would totally have the same issue. 😂
My guess was rabbit just because when I had one of my own, she was WAYYY more maintenance than I expected! Lots of care for bunnies but I love them so much 🐰💕
I can’t wait for your moving animals to Nashville video I’m actually moving to Louisville in Tennessee in a few weeks from Las Vegas and could use as many reptile tips as possible love all your videos and I’m a huge fan 😀
Timothy hay in particular isn’t good for them to have nonstop! Grass hay is way better for them and gives them more fiber. The urge to eat their fur is less with grass. You can also give them straw too. They love that more (mine do but every rabbit is different)
Rabbits for sure. They’re expensive and high maintenance. I have 2 rats. They’re also a bit high maintenance and expensive but I wouldn’t say they need as much space and time as the bun buns.
You could feed the rabbit orchard grass hay, a lot of people use that in replacement for Timothy but I wouldn’t recommend feeding your rabbit any colorful pellets ♥️ I’m a reputable breeder and I also run a rescue ♥️
What eyeshadow do you use!? I absolutely love it!! I would say iguanas and chameleons for reptiles have always been difficult. I've got 75 "forever reptiles" and another 160 rescues I rehab and rehome at my rescue "Tripple R Reptiles" in Wisconsin! I love breeding my ball pythons, king snake hybrids and leopard geckos. However my child is my "forever" savannah monitor Alberto who is my prince charming! He is my favorite ever other than my mustang midge ♡ When I saw you take on a savannah monitor and saw the update video I was so proud of you!!
Its so interesting to me how different it is to hold a rabbit in your climate. I live in germany and used to have rabbits and everyone here keeps them outside in pretty big cages because its colder here and they eat fresh grass and carots most of the Time
Thank you so much for speaking about the fact that rabbits need a mate! It is so important! I've often noticed that in the U.S., many people seem to think having one rabbit is fine. Luckily here in the Netherlands, it has been widely accepted that you must have more than one. Also, I would always recommend to keep a neutered male with a (spayed) female, because two males will almost always fight to the death, and two females without males present will also fight often. Sidenote, I have six pets, and my rabbits are by far the most expensive and time consuming :) but I love them so much! They are worth every penny
Have you found the perfect home for Frankie yet. Maybe an update if so. Love his face with those fangs. Leo is adorable too. I use to have a 3 lb Chihuahua with the same long name. The long version I can’t remember how to spell. Lol Had him til he passed.✌️❤️🐾
For my bunny I line his litter box with a puppy pee pad and then use the carefresh small animal“bedding” . These two together are super absorbent, and all I do is fold up the pee pad and throw it out! So easy!
We use to have rabbits. Don't know how this would work with a hay allergy, but we bought an entire bale of hay, split the leaves into air tight totes. I think the bale might have been 12 dollars? Memory is fuzzy, but it's very cheap at the feed store. It was Timothy hay. Just benprepared for the mess. I don't have a truck. The guy at the feed store was nice enough to wrap it in a bag, though.
I completely agree. I love my rabbit but it's so hard taking care of them. Can you pleaseee make a video of how you clean their area and how do you make their enclosure?? I need help lol love you ❤💕
I have three rabbits. I spend about $150 a month between hay, salad, pellets, pee pads, toys, litter, treats and basics. That doesn’t include the vet bills! Also we spent about $130 on litter box/hay feeder combo for each of them. We have three pens set up for them and clean them two to three times a week. They’re high maintenance lol
I had a rabbit and we found out I was very allergic to his hay and we still kept him for three years until we finally rehomed him. I loved him so much but it became so hard for me to even hold him. I miss him but he is very happy at him new home
You should make a little garden (like on your porch or something in planter boxes) so that you know you've got organic food and it can cut down how much you spend on veggies and stuff c:
my rabbit died at the age of 14, she lived 24/7 in our yard with our other bunny. i defenitly think you should keep your bunnies outside, they are wild animals and need their space to go on adventure and to run around.
At one point I had 2 rabbits and a guinea pig... Way too many cages to clean, veggies to cut up, play time outside of the cage, etc. One of my rabbits also had some issues, so she was even more maintenance than a normal rabbit. We think she was dropped or something as a baby and her leg was broken and never set, so it healed all kinds of messed up. We also think she was blind in one eye, which make her super skittish to movement since she didn’t always see you coming at her, and this made her aggressive. We literally fed her with a potholder on because she would bite when you stuck your hand in the cage to feed her or get her out. She was super sweet once you had her trust, but initial movements always freaked her out. She also needed baths often because of her broken leg and not being able to clean herself properly. Lots of work compared to my cats or dogs. Also spaying for females especially should be done because cancer is a very big cause of death in unspayed females. No one ever told us to get our rabbits fixed and unfortunately our female got pretty bad cancer in her uterus and we had to put her to sleep when she stopped eating and lost her spunk one day. We had no idea and felt horrible.
my rabbits live outside, but our rabbits are meat rabbits. They have their own shed to stay in and the outside part of the enclosure it fenced in and the fenced part has a cover so nothing can get in
my first thought: it's a human child.
duck reese they are worse. Lol

Its better you scare them away then a rabbit go to the wrong home
people should always be informed about the animal they are wanting to purchase whether it changes their mind or not
Same here!
Dragonknight what information is wrong? From what I know it’s correct
I have had many people ask about them and tell them that they’re high maintenance and that they’re not the best pets for children under the age of 13 and to do lots of research before deciding to get one
Omgosh Kristen my 4 yr old daughter just walked up and looked at my tablet and said “mom is she a mermaid 🧜♀️?”.
I’m going to say the chameleon because the dude needs a fountain for his water 😂🦎
So does my cat.
First thing I thought
I've come into this video thinking chameleon as well-
Chameleons are so much work for little to no affection in return so you really just have to have a heart for just giving them an awesome life
me: *thinking probably anything besides a rabbit right?*
Kristen: It's a rabbit!

Me: Well, I was wrong.
Rabbits are literally one of the easiest pets ever.
Guinea pigs are super similar! I wish people knew how much work they really are! I don’t think either are good “kid pets!”
Brittany Bounds the only pet I think children should have are fish
Rats are good kid pets in my opinion.. just because I have had them for over 8 years

They absolutely love it... but they do have the tendency to chew on anything wood, which is annoying but it’s what I signed up for
Rabbits waste so much food and water 😭 I’ve had two and they would make HUGE messes
hayley ortega are they dumping the bowls?
Haha you're soooo right! My 2 make the biggest mess over and over!!!
Paige Norkus Yes, they did. I don’t have them now I was a lot younger when I had them
If you get ceramic bowls they can't tip them over
i always thought it was so weird that mine did that everyday !! omg 😭
Rats
Edit: I forgot you had rabbits. I've had many different animals and anything that poops all day long always seems to be high maintenance. Snakes are one of the least time consuming animals I've owned.
Rats are by far the easiest for me. They are easy to clean, feed, water, and entertain. They don't need baths, walks, special lights, or anything
I love the feeding all of your animals and making the homes for them in Nashville! Sending love xo
As a chameleon owner myself, definitely the chameleon.
If you have a tractor Supply in your area, they sell the wood pellets for $6 a bag. It is advertised as horse bedding.
I had a bunny and totally underestimated the amount of cleaning. Hay everywhere!
I clicked on this video to listen to while cleaning my rabbits’ pen. Had no idea you’d say “rabbit”! SO much work!
I’m new to your channel and it cracks me up how many times I’ve heard you say “I was going to re-home...” I think I would totally have the same issue. 😂
Honestly, I just enjoy seeing you interact/feed the animals. I'm simple 😊
We have the same ring tone so when I heard “who’s texting me” I thought someone was actually text me for once
He is my favorite ever other than my mustang midge ♡
When I saw you take on a savannah monitor and saw the update video I was so proud of you!!
Omg yes. I didn’t think my rabbit was going to be so hard to care for.
YESSS! i’ve been patiently waiting for an upload on this chanel!😫love you!❤️
awe yay thanks for being patient!! There will be more videos once I get settled 👌
So easy!
Just make sure it’s not the bedding made with baking soda! I think carefresh is the one that used it at one point or still does.
I’m allergic to Timothy hay too. I feed my rabbit orchard grass, so I find that helps A LOT
I had a rabbit and we found out I was very allergic to his hay and we still kept him for three years until we finally rehomed him. I loved him so much but it became so hard for me to even hold him. I miss him but he is very happy at him new home
I’m going to guess it’s your dog. My dogs are way more high maintenance then my reptiles! Love them so much though!
DO ANOTHER DOLLAR STORE HAUL FOR YOUR RATS NOOWWWWWWW
loving that profile 🙂
Yasssss
Artist_Gamer Kid don’t be rude
Dude can’t you take a joke? I was saying that sort of in a joking way.
You should make a little garden (like on your porch or something in planter boxes) so that you know you've got organic food and it can cut down how much you spend on veggies and stuff c:
I was actually gonna say rabbit but I was like “nah there’s no way” but boy was I wrong 😂
Wow! I never knew you owned Artic Fox hair color! As always I loved this video and becoming more educated about the amazing animals you own 😊😊
That eye makeup is so on point 👌👌
As a rabbit owner I completely agree. My sweet baby is so high maintenance but it's worth it to see her living the best rabbit life she can 🖤
my rabbit died at the age of 14, she lived 24/7 in our yard with our other bunny. i defenitly think you should keep your bunnies outside, they are wild animals and need their space to go on adventure and to run around.
They have their own shed to stay in and the outside part of the enclosure it fenced in and the fenced part has a cover so nothing can get in
Most of this is true for guinea pigs too! They are not a giant hamster 😤😂
Hamsters also require more care than most people think aha
I’ve had both. They aren’t easy but I think my lizards are harder.
No animal is EASY if you're doing it correctly
I actually find guinea pigs to be pretty easy to care for, personally.
paige k you might be doing it wrong
literally love your personality
Was not shocked to hear this, as a bunny mom, I feel you ♥️🐰
My shitty WiFi froze your video when you were sniffing your pit 🤣 being the hilarious you that I love, just thought I’d share that LOL
