Oh please, don’t act like the devs doesn’t have any intention of making it like the way it is, they were probably laughing their ass off. It even gives you the option to slap one of the npcs butt
With rune stones you can change a weapons stat scaling based on the damage stat you main, essentially making weapons like the pole-arm a “bandit” weapon
Oh and those pigs with the spears? they do make a distinctive sound just before they charge. I was struggling too against them till i noticed that, helped me parry them
After playing the game with all three classes it feels like melee attacks melt enemies way faster than range does. Bandit and Mystic have strong aoe abilities but they do have cool downs. Bandit with katars or fighter with any melee weapon can meot down hordes all at once and they both have stun moves you can use to combo a bunch of enemies.

Hey atom, im not too sure if you figured it out, but for beating most enemies especially boars, parrying is the way to go, the easiest way to train your parry skills is with Geist's when they are about to swing you can parry them pretty easily the window is pretty big and it puts them into a stunlock for a few seconds
Parrying is great, because despite being crucial, you are always able to block anytime, during an attack. So you don’t feel like there’s a risk aspect to something that could be used otherwise.
Just a piece of advice for melee or anyone. Get the mastery skills sold by either Goat Mom, Shopkeep or the big dude with his ass out depending on which weapon. It changes how a few weapons function and makes melee so much more fun to use. The scythe turns into a sawblade and the sword goes beyblade on 'em it's a gamechanger.
So with melee vs the hogs I learned that timing their charged attacks and pressing block right when they do it is the best way to deal with them. It'll parry and stun them allowing any melee weapon to just shred them entirely.
Game's still in early access, so content updates will be slow, but I'm happy to see more people give this game some spotlight. And if you run out of juice for this game, you can always give games like Phantasy Star Online or Monster Hunter a try if you want more co-op action RPGs!

If people remember that Black Desert Online, Stellar Blade, Neir and First Descendent Exist and the proportions in those games were crazy, along with the customization and cosmetics existing, this game shouldn't really bother you. But just because there furries people tend to freak out a little too much. I bought this game for my friend who was making fun of me the whole time and we laughed about the customization a bit, but now he's addicted to the game and loves every bit of it. You forget about what your character and other peoples look like as soon as you start engaging yourself in combat. In the end I got the last laugh lol

I will confirm that Brother.... Is just ass at telegraph attacks. even my first encounter with them I was able to turn them from common threat to absolute couple hit fodder.
I feel like the game parodies gooner type games I mean no nudity but there is if you go into settings but its just your characters skin color nothing explicit like the over the top ways they show off the breast and butt feels more comical then suggestive. The taunts are definitely suggestive but also childish and the only thing thst could be considered sexual is the taunt and you can smack the giant goat women. This is a parody over the real deal.
You said you had no idea how to beat the Hogs with a melee weapon. Well you lost no word about blocking attacks with right mouse button and even returning attacks to the enemies by blocking in the right moment, so I think thats the reason^^

@ yeah, one of my builds I did pole-arm mastery and bows as a bandit
melee is pretty good. enemies telegraph attacks by starting to glow during wind up, then you should try blinking your shield to parry it.

Melee is super broken but the problem is your stats most of the time have to go into life and strength and dex.
