Hanoi was incredibly unique and definitely want to go back there. I've been to Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, Taipei, etc. If I'm going to Vietnam, I'm not going for a typical Asian city experience. I'm going there for the culture, food, sightseeing, and anything unique that other countries don't offer. Phu Quoc was also very nice. That island is definitely touristy, but nice beach vibes
Yeah I absolutely agree. To me Hanoi felt more uniquely Vietnam, but I have been more places off the beaten path too and I have to say Vietnam is actually a pretty hard to nail down as one thing. There are a lot of different types of geography and people living there.
I’m planing a 17 day trip to Vietnam , Cambodia and Thailand. I was planing just 3 nights in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh. I think after watching your video I’m going to Hanoi 3 or 4 nights
Recommend me a place in Vietnam to live and work with a family. We are coming from China. Asia in not a surprise for us. But any recommendations are expected
Hm... Well there is a lot of variables to consider which would be hard to determine without knowing you and your situation fully. I will say Da Nang might be worth looking into. I very much enjoyed that city. It seems like it has a lot solid infrastructure without being as overwhelming as Ho Chi Minh City. Good luck with your journey.
You are coming to the old quarter area in Hanoi, which is where many foreign tourists are. If you go further, you will see that Hanoi is like other cities.
Yeah it is always so hard to get a true sense of a place in such short time. That being said considering most of the people coming to visit as tourists are going to get a similar experience I still think it is valuable. I do alway wish I had more time and local access at a location though.
Yes I have a little insight into that. I have not taken the sleeper train all the way there, but I did take it to Mui Ne, from Ho Chi Minh and back. First I will say that if you are booking your ticket be sure to go directly to the railway website. There are other 3rd party sites that look like the website, but are more expensive and have less options. I don't believe UA-cam will let me post the link, but I am going to write is out with a dot instead of the (.) so hopefully it will get through (dsvn dot vn).. if you can't find it google Vietnam Train Website and go to wikipedia. At the bottom of wiki page you can find the official booking website link. Now as far as other advice. If you have are prone to motion sickness, the train may not be the best bet for you. Especially the sleeper cabin. The way they had the beds arranged made you rock from head to feet instead of side to side. I personally was fine and only felt a little off, but my wife got pretty sick. The other thing I will say is depending on the amount of time you are spending in Vietnam a plane may be a better bet. It is more expensive, but it will take you only a 1h 25min vs 17h 14min. Usually the plane tickets are relatively inexpensive in comparison to most countries so personally I would spend $30-60 more and save a day. If you just want the experience though, maybe you want to stop at different locations a long the way, or you are there for a long time and are budget constrained go for it. Sorry for the book. I hope some of this helps. If you have any more questions let me know and I will do my best to answer.
Honestly not sure. I haven't been to Chiang Mai. I can see the comparison of BKK and HCMC though. I'd say BKK might be slightly more developed in some ways at least as far as road systems are concerned, but HCMC is getting there for sure.
Great video, but also very user unfriendly because I have no idea how to search for "Daa Laa" because you dont provide the names. Maybe add them to the description of the video if not in the video itself?
Sorry about that. Thank you for the advice. I will try to do better about that in the future. I will have to go back and see the places I mentioned and put it in a bin comment. Dalat is the place I think you are asking about.
Mua Cave in Ninh Binh... I didn't get to go to that particular city so that was stock footage there. The city right before it with all the people and river was Hoi An near Da Nang.
Im going Hanoi and Da Nang in october, I'm not too interested in the walking street or drinking at night. Should i go Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi and Da Nang or Ho Chi Ming and Da Nang?
I feel like Hanoi and Da Nang would be a more unique experience. Ho Chi Minh City is a nice city, but it kinda just feels a little more generic in comparison.
Vung tau is actually popular, not the prettiest beach but actually popular. Gen Z nowadays want beautiful and clean beach, which is why Vung Tau is not on their top 3… And because there is a follow the sheep type of movement….tourist never seen or heard of Vung Tau so it’s not a city for touristSzz
Yeah for sure. I've been there quite a few times over the years. I love it! I know it is very popular in Vietnam, but like you said the foreign tourist aren't as aware of it.
Well I tried to give enough information for people to be able to make up there mind for themselves. I gave my opinion which for me is Hanoi, but I know everyone is different. Hope this helps some. Sorry if it wasn't clear enough of a video.

Try coron, siargao or balabac all from Philippines
Thank you very useful information
Awesome! Glad you found it helpful :). If you are heading to Vietnam, I hope you have an amazing trip!

I personally think you are making the best choice.
Vietnam is a spectacular country-both the urban and the rural...so fascinating. Hanoi is the more touristy place.
Yeah the is an abundance of beauty no matter where you go in Vietnam.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
We also want to go to Vietnam in December to January for 2 weeks but not sure Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh 🥴
@@Irannnn4444 Both are worthy but if you can only do one, pick Hanoi.

Well thank so much for watching! I really appreciate you taking the time to give a compliment. 😊
Nicely done vid altho to have shown names of places would be helpful.
Thank you! Yeah that is a good idea. I will probably try that in the future.
do you need a passport for travelling within vietnam? like on the flights and cruises and buses?
Thank you so much for the helpful info! I appreciated it.
Aww well thank you so much for watching and leaving the comment. I appreciate that for sure.

Do you have any advice taking the sleeper train from HCM to Hanoi? I'm really interested for my research before traveling there.

Saigon and Hanoi are VERY different, including cultures and society. Good and bad things in both. You have to visit both to know which one suits you.
For sure. They have a completely different vibe about them. I definitely think both are a must visit, if you have the time.
He didnt give an answer on where to go or which one is best. He just talks about both places.

@@BeeSans444 yeah for it would be Hanoi, but I am with you. People should experience it for themselves.

I CHOOSE DA NANG ,NHA TRANG and DA LAT CITY
I think you will be happy with that choice. All of those locations are beautiful in their own way.
You should write names of cities) it's hard to find))
Yeah I actually thought about that. Maybe I can put chapters and do that.
Places closer to Ho Chi Minh City:
