- Gday Ian Castle here, your Aussie Vocal Coach and this is the Daily Vocal Workout for High Baritones.
The 6 vocal exercises in this workout are designed to get your air moving, encourage vocal cord closure, develop and strengthen your vocal range and improve your agility and pitch. This version of the workout has no background beat so you can focus on the piano notes. If you would prefer a version with background beats to add some energy click on the link on your screen.

Use the breaks between exercises to have a sip of water and release any tension. Let's get started.
Exercise 1 VA
1111123454321
This exercise targets your onset of sound, the balance and coordination of your air and vocal cords. We will sing 4 detached notes followed by a sustained scale. Take a short breath between each of the detached notes to engage your diaphragm.
Exercise 2 Mi Eh Ah
1353454321
This exercise will focus on your chest and lower mixed voice. The goal of this exercise is to develop a fullness of tone in your lower range. As you ascend in pitch you will need to lift your soft palette, the fleshy bit at the back of your throat, to make the transition into lower mixed voice easier.
Exercise 3 OO
18876543231
This exercise will focus on the connection between your head and mixed voice. You will sing a large interval, an octave, from chest voice to head voice and descend back down through your mixed voice range. Make sure you support your voice from your diaphragm on the descent to create back pressure behind your vocal cords. This will help to iron out any annoying breaks.
Exercise 4 IEAOUOAEI
1324354653421
This exercise is a bit of a tongue twister and is designed to improve the agility of your articulators, your jaw, lips and tongue. Aim for a sustained vocal tone. Imagine a steady flow of air from your lower lungs to a point on the wall. Your goal is to place the individual notes on the air as it leaves your mouth.
Exercise 5 LA LA LE LI
135853123454321
This exercise features a combination of different note lengths. This will help to develop a sustained vocal tone and agility through a large range. Some horizontal arm movements will help you to ascend and sustain the highest note of each phrase.
Exercise 6 MUM
Round Scale
This exercise is called the round scale. It covers a large vocal range and will require you to sing with efficient breath control and placement. We will repeat each starting pitch 3 times to give you time to gain confidence in the notes. If the exercise becomes too high or difficult please stop and wait for it to return to a comfortable pitch.

This was incredible. Love how you repeat the same scale twice. Also love the head voice aspect. Love everything you do
Thanks for this good workout💚
Wonderful exercises as always.
thank you so much 😍
Thanks for this.
Thank you
Thanks for the workout. I had my first singing lesson today and will use your workouts as a supplement to train what I learn there. I like both this one and the 2021 version. I think doing each one daily would be highly beneficial in the long run. Keep it up!
Thank you very much. These Is excelent for a baritone with a voice hidden somewere. You male me take it out.
The best❤
Sorry for inserting again, PLEASE: you should try to do this either with a metronome or conduct yourself as you move through the steps...you are always a TAD too early with you're progressing which gives a horrible musical feel to the whole thing...;-)
other than that - as mentioned before: good helpful stuff
Thanks, yes get rid of all the beats in all the exercises!
Nice - but you seem not to have made a bass version of the workout?
I get it if your voice doesn't go down that low, but you can demonstrate at a higher pitch and then descend solely on the piano... that's what would be most beneficial to me!
Thanks though :)
I get so self conscience even when alone, I cant even begin to start with vocal excersises for fear someone hears me
same here
how you doin?

is it right for baritones to falsette the highest ones in third exercise?
Make, no male. Is not me. Is the I phone.
