Geoff added so much to this arrangement, first to lengthen the song, and then to add that sweet, sweet, crunch feel to it. It is one of my very favorites! The harmonies in this are just glorious but then they always are. Another one with no beatboxing, just singing from Layne, is True Colours, and it's so moving. Both of these covers move me to tears. It's just so gorgeous. But then they often do.
You can add Can't Make You Love Me to that list, and is probably my favorite of their non-percussion songs where Layne sings. Everyone's performance in it is stellar, but Cesar just stands out... he rips my heart out every time I watch it.
I would love to see the chart for this. Vocal jazz groups could take a master class from this song alone
