Mr. Salim is so knowledgeable and passionate - you can tell by his energy. A man who is passionate about his craft for sure and the quality of his products tells you everything. Loving the Tropical Rough.
This looks like an amazing shop to visit, Chris. So glad you got to experience so many exquisite and precious raw materials. That type of thing is a dream for most of us. Congrats!
Fantastic video lad 👍 Great to see the enthuiasm from everyone in it , and the knowledge they shared is so intresting and i'll be doing alot of googling today 👌
Great review as always Chris (y) I appreciate your time to visit and show your subscribers especially who are not aware of natural ingredients (e.g. oud). I have tried a couple of them when I visited India. IMHO for any nose, if it's hard to appreciate the complex niche/indie perfumes instead of crowd-pleasing perfumes (like Creeds, TFs, Amouages) it's 10x harder to accept/appreciate (forget to apply) any pure natural scents like Musk, Oud, Rose, Vetiver.
Not a huge fan of Oud but I wouldn't mind visiting this shop. I love Mr. Salim's collection of Amouage, and his story. This was extremely enjoyable and hope you do more of these visits.
Great video I live very close I visited the older shop which is shut down now I was wondering what had happened to him I’m really glad to see he is still in business, I bought a few Oils from him and smelled the piece of ambergris he had and the Cambodian oud, it was a very good experience I didn’t smell the dear musk I think I’m going to go back to smell that though
great guest! very informative and eager to share his knowledge with you and your viewers. i hope you get to spend more time with him and share this high amount of info and history. loved it. great friendly guy.
Great video, so insightful, and the guys who own Scent Salim are clearly driven to bring the best quality oud in to the UK market, i'm going to pay them a visit me thinks!
Nice one. I enjoyed this. Makes you appreciate the skill that goes into crafting fragrances. People think that it's a case of mixing up a bunch of ingredients but there's demonstrably more to it than that. I have a very small amount of pure ambergris and it pongs like God awful halitosis and floor polish and yet when it's blended by someone who knows their art it metamorphosises into something very pleasant and appealing.
Why have I not come across Scent Salim before lol. Many thanks for this video loved it definitely going to pay MR Salim a visit, better get saving first!
Bro, you need to visit perfume Parlour and show as what they're all about. I am one of your first few followers, you got me into PP which is now saving me a lot of money. Thank you
What a place! A treasure trove. Quick question I've been to the website. The only two of their own spray fragrances I can see are London oud and Friday oud. Can't see the Kalimat Oud, apart from the Arabian Oud version. Is that the one you mean?
London is very wearable and not a strong Oud at all. A small amount gives massive projection! On the website use the search box for 'Kalimaat'. The Arabian Oud and Scent Salim' s original come up.
@avgrim77 thank you, I will try the Swiss Arabian original version. I also noticed the oil being very watery. These guys are way too expensive for what they're supplying, you can buy better quality from any local Attar shops for less than half the price.
Brilliant video, I want to drive up there once restrictions are lifted. Only problem is I wouldn't know where to start in terms of what fragrance to look at. Do you have any tips in order to not waste their time. The only oud fragrances I have worn are a couple Tom Fords and Colonia Intensa oud by Acqua di Parma.
Have you bought some of that Cambodian aoud to balance out the florals in your own creation that you formulated some months ago? Chuck a few bottles in to give it some oomphh!!
I went and bought Sultan, London Oud and Kalimat as you said you liked them. Very disappointed with Kalimat, it doesn't last long or project much. A far better option is the version from Perfume Parlour, less than half the price with double the performance. Sultan is a another copy of an Attar that I also own, this copy again is not a very good copy. For half the price you can buy these attars that give better performance. Try Al Rehab Sultan which is much cheaper and projects like a beast for hours. London Oud seems to be the only one that I can say was ok but nothing new, they've taken a traditional attar and increased performance on it. Overall, I don't believe this company is providing anything extra. Maybe I'm saying this as I have access to many of these attar shops in London.
I just loved this!! after buying two fragrances off Aaron and two off Peter (Centauri) and patchouli from Santa Maria Novella I swore no more for a while ..now I’m tempted to check out this site which is lethal...eeeek
Great review Chris, some of those scents scare me 😆 I could see your face some of them are way to strong. Its interesting the things they use for perfumery. Have a great Sunday ✌👍
That's why a lot of those pure oils are diluted with either alcohol or sandalwood base..Musk gland on its own is very pungent and is an extremely unpleasant scent until its diluted with the above
Great interesting video amouage DS my favorite house I got 7 bottles from them looking to get more wish I could be there lol dont know if we have anything like this in us
@avgrim77 lmao my friend does have many frags so he came over and grabbed interlude man and did 8 sprays not knowing how strong it is next day he said him and his gif had massive head aches lol that will teach him to grab my stuff without asking me
Cheers, enjoyed the video, very informative, would like to see what Perfume Parlour are like behind the scenes, hope they send you an invitation Chris.
great content , enjoy every second of it , more of these kind pls if possible share with us ur work out , diet , health supplement and grooming product tks again
How would you know if they use real oud or not? As far as I know, Tom Ford don't make pure perfume oils, therefore the oud they use would be extremely minimal and diluted down by alcohol and other fixatives anyway
A shame I didn’t have time (or enough interest at that point) to check Scent Saleem out before moving away from Leeds. I even had their address and a list of fragrances to try in my diary... Would have been an interesting experience.
You know how I love my Oud. I hope some day to visit this shop
That would be awesome. They own a cafe next door that does great food too!
FRAG-MENTAL then it’s a date 😉
Any oud fragrances that you guys believe are a must have ?
Mr. Salim is so knowledgeable and passionate - you can tell by his energy. A man who is passionate about his craft for sure and the quality of his products tells you everything. Loving the Tropical Rough.

Thanks Robert. It was so interesting to learn about where scents and perfumes originated.
What a remarkable video. Content like this is such a joy to watch. Absolutely stellar stuff my man.
Thanks, glad you liked it 👍
Amazing place, love their passion for it.
Very passionate!!

I'm going to rock with Scent Salim ASAP, they look official.
Brillant video. The shop looks like a treasure room filled of all kind of wonders. Awesome.
That's exactly what it is!
great guest! very informative and eager to share his knowledge with you and your viewers. i hope you get to spend more time with him and share this high amount of info and history. loved it. great friendly guy.
Yes he was a very gracious and generous host. He even provided us with lunch!
Wow, great video Chris!!! Finally, a place up north selling the best oud oils and attars the world has to offer. Definitely need to pay them a visit!!
Glad you liked it!
Great video, so insightful, and the guys who own Scent Salim are clearly driven to bring the best quality oud in to the UK market, i'm going to pay them a visit me thinks!
Thanks Natasha. Yes they work very hard to source high quality natural ingredients.
Fascinating shop and information! Great video FM
Thanks EVB 😉
That was really good bro! It’s great to actually see you getting your nose on some of these gems 😀
Thanks Amyas. It was a fun trip!

Nature is the Ultimate Luxury! And it come with a price tag! Tkx to both.

A great video indeed, really rare video over net . Thank you bro👍🏻😊

wohooo! you allowed us to enter in a NOSE place!!fantastic video!! thank youuU!!!
Why have I not come across Scent Salim before lol. Many thanks for this video loved it definitely going to pay MR Salim a visit, better get saving first!
Great interview, Chris! It was so fascinating to see the natural ingredient of ambergris.
And it barely had any scent!
@@FRAGMENTAL That is very fascinating!
Bro, you need to visit perfume Parlour and show as what they're all about. I am one of your first few followers, you got me into PP which is now saving me a lot of money. Thank you
Yes it would be interesting to visit PP. Maybe one day! Thanks for sticking with me bro👍
What a place! A treasure trove. Quick question I've been to the website. The only two of their own spray fragrances I can see are London oud and Friday oud. Can't see the Kalimat Oud, apart from the Arabian Oud version. Is that the one you mean?
Oh, and how would you describe London Oud? How Oud-y/wearable is it? Ta.
London is very wearable and not a strong Oud at all. A small amount gives massive projection! On the website use the search box for 'Kalimaat'. The Arabian Oud and Scent Salim' s original come up.
Don't bother with Kalimat, buy the version from Perfume Parlour, the spry and oil of PP is much better in projection and longevity.
@avgrim77 thank you, I will try the Swiss Arabian original version. I also noticed the oil being very watery.
These guys are way too expensive for what they're supplying, you can buy better quality from any local Attar shops for less than half the price.

Wish Nikhil , accompanied you. Would have been cherry on top😊
This style video is freaking awesome!!!!
Well done. It's good they invited you and good your made the video. Now we know where to get deer musk from.
Haha yes
Love this video and your efforts. I have to save up. The special strong scents in small affordable amounts make great gifts
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it. Yes their oils would be excellent gifts 👍
Lovely trip, look forward for future more trips
*Great video Chris!!!* Really well done!
Thanks V much Josh 😁
Ahhhh oud is one of my favorite ingrediants in frags! Nice vid, doing something different from the ordinary!
I like to keep my content varied if I can!
Have you bought some of that Cambodian aoud to balance out the florals in your own creation that you formulated some months ago? Chuck a few bottles in to give it some oomphh!!
Great idea! That would provide just the kick it needs. Maybe a bucketful full of Castoreum too!
I went and bought Sultan, London Oud and Kalimat as you said you liked them.
Very disappointed with Kalimat, it doesn't last long or project much. A far better option is the version from Perfume Parlour, less than half the price with double the performance.

Extremely interesting mr mental enjoyed the different direction of this video 👍👍👍

Great video as always bro
Thanks bro 👊
How lucky you are !!! 👍👍👍
Yes pure oud is too strong for me. I prefer the ones where oud is more in the background.
@@FRAGMENTAL I agree with you on that!

Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
hello. thinking of getting some pure jasmine. I thought you shouldnt put absolute or essential oils straight on the skin though??
Very interesting content, I'm really impressed.
Keep it up buddy!🙌👌
Thank you!
great video Fraggy. I would love to know where to smell natural ingredients so I know what scents I like. great content
Thanks Maccy. It's great smelling naturals as suddenly things fall into place with fragrances you know and love. Very interesting!
First straight from your max forti collaboration.
Great stuff! Hope you enjoyed my chat with Max.
@@FRAGMENTAL this was a really interesting and informative video, did I detect a slight Scottish accent from Mr salim, again this is Quality.
Sent them an email asking them about deer musk, they didn't even bother to respond... First impression of this store was really bad unfortunately
They don't reply and also they don't have time.
Hi. Please do email sales@scentsalim.com and our team will respond
Hi chris, that kalemat that you showed at the end of your video is that the clone version from arabian oud. And have you tried the woody
I asked them that but it's an original. Not tried Woody.
Cheers, enjoyed the video, very informative, would like to see what Perfume Parlour are like behind the scenes, hope they send you an invitation Chris.
great content , enjoy every second of it , more of these kind pls
if possible share with us ur work out , diet , health supplement and grooming product

Thank you Hasib 👍
20 mins away from me, think I'll pay them a visit, great vid, very interesting..
Yeh if your close by it's definitely worth paying them a visit.
I must visit this shop next time up there
Heard there perfumes are long lasting
Salim is the best
*Interesting video Chris* Good job 👍👍👍
Cheers 👍
Lovely vid. Could have watched more.
Oh thank you 🙂
Wait a minute.... Their oud is the same as the one tom ford uses? Tom ford don't use natural oud.. 😐
I'm not sure actually
How would you know if they use real oud or not? As far as I know, Tom Ford don't make pure perfume oils, therefore the oud they use would be extremely minimal and diluted down by alcohol and other fixatives anyway
Amazing .
From the discussion it looks like their products are out of range of an average customer..they sell for vvip people only
This is lethal lol......I’ve just been on the site and ordered.....
I'm sure you could've stayed there for hours. It seems like you received a bit more education in the world of perfumery too. Great video!
Certainly did. Invaluable experience!
That was fun. ❤️
After watching this video within 20 minutes I bought 2 of his creations.
Very interesting review Sir
Thanks Jovi 👍
Great video buddy! :)
Thanks Daniel 👍
A shame I didn’t have time (or enough interest at that point) to check Scent Saleem out before moving away from Leeds. I even had their address and a list of fragrances to try in my diary... Would have been an interesting experience.
Yes I could have stayed much longer just chatting about the fragrance world!
Nice....
We have supply of agarwood in the philips. Please don't hesitate to message for details.
Thank you
haven't seen pure ambergris before
I hadn't either!
pfft, fragrances which only cost a grand per ml? Must be for the poor monarchs
haha
Ive been there before🤣🤣
