For a ranged attack that costs no fp, the charged R2 is actually pretty strong too. The R1 comes a bit slow for my taste, like all other heavy spears, but if I want faster short range option I go Catch Flame, since I'm already building for fire damage

Flame spear on fire knight's greatsword slaps that sunflower
Try fire serpent actually for the head on that boss. Tracks efficiently and takes out half the health bar in one cast buffed up with messmer helmet + rakshasa.

This boss weapons ash feels like the only one that actually does the boss’s move. Usually you get a discount version. Love the content lately chase!
It’s not though. Radagon’s weapons do what he does. Rellana's Twin Blades do what she does.
@@sPaCe_NiNjA187 rellanas weapons don’t give the buff that hers give tho and elden beasts weapon is actually one of the only weapons that is better than when elden beast uses it it hits a much wider area. But I mean there are very few boss weapons across fromsoft games that actually are on par with what the boss does.
Rellanas sword do very low dmg on the aow tho, definitly needs a major buff.

@@jackkelz2000 Another good example is the Marais Executioner Sword. They had the opportunity to make its weapon art a stance from which R1 would do long range combo swings and R2 would do the chargeable drill, and my disappointment when I found out it can _only_ do the drill was immeasurable and my day was ruined.
Damn your drip on this video with the spears was definitely good, glad to see you trying new outfits while matching the same poise you usually go.

Horned warrior warrior has very bad poise and defences so he had to compensate it with bullgoat legs and prelate gloves

Dude chase mentioned how the lock on never locks onto who you need it to, and he is so SO right. Literally, if there is more than 1 target within 100 m of me, the game will lock onto anything other than the target I want it to. If I try to trick it by locking onto something I dont really want to, well, then of course it locks perfectly onto that thing. It can't lock onto the scary field boss directly in my face, but it certainly can lock onto a squirrel 300 yards directly behind me. Sheesh!
Back in the ds games i would lock on to see the enemies.. here whenever i am in the open field, the lock on goes mad crazy going for the random deer, random squirrel throwing my camera all freaking crazy.
If only they learned from monster hunter where you can turn off critter lock on off
The worst thing is when it locks onto a spring hare or dragonfly that zooms between you and your target and now suddenly you're completely disoriented.
You know they're running a cheesy/toxic build when Chase gives you the Hey instead of the Bow emote.
Makes me afraid to see how unsporting you'd have to be to make him point down.

Crazy how chase adapts to any situation ive just started getting good at invading to the point where i can get consistent wins and i really understand now that chase is just insane at souls pvp

I recommend checking out the death knight weapons (especially the longhafted axe) the first part of the ash of war seems to give you some i-frames on top of getting you close to the enemy

Miquella and surprise Radahn were the secret hidden boss after the protagonist overcame the antagonist (who turned out to be not so bad), but Messmer was that guy and damn was he cool
Holy lord, that first invasion was the worst. Infinite deathspear rituals and scarlet rot dragonbreath. Honestly they would've fully deserved a bagging, you're more polite than I would've been and I consider myself a pretty polite invader

Well, then you have strong possibility to roll into another attack and have to roll chain, which is not ideal. When you roll away most of the time you will make distance and be safe. Anyways, I am talking about the base game. idk about pvp

he doesnt usually swap when showcasing concrete weapon like this, milady, claws of night and so on... He does swap when he is showcasing whole build or niche, like his dexterity loadout, bleed build and so on, to show variety

The lock-on is so whack. I remember there was this one guy who was a little off to the right of my camera, but still clearly infront of me. But then the lock-on decided to target the guy behind me instead.

I've been running venomous fang with offhand poisoned hand with endure and switch to an occult great katana for poison flower blooms as the higher AR weapon does more damage with the ash
Nanaya's torch has a crazy moveset, you shoupd try it.
This spear is great in ganks mostly because you can change target mid-ash of war as you jump , it really catches people off guard.
Ah, the anime spear! Great for anime-ing next to my anime katana, greatsword, comically oversized greatsword, martial arts, and flashy spells!

They really need to update the lock on system. We should have the option to enable locking on the target, closest to the center of the screen.

Funny thing about these spears is I hardly get hit by the Ash of war because of just how much I had to learn to dodge it against Messmer.

This build is super fun with messmers orb and flame serpent. From what I can tell if the flame serpent hits and you cast a no charge messmer orb immediately after it true combos. Makes for really good neutral pressure.
The lock-on system is so wonky it'll lock on to an enemy not even closest to you for no reason.

I really love the throwing implementation of this weapon, if someone is dragon breathing or uses a spell but you can’t quite close the distance you just Yeet this bad boi and u can just knock them down. Plus it’s got a sick AOW
IMO it needs a buff. It has too many negatives, No Poise/Stance Damage, Damage Falloff, insane stamina consumption. They need to buff 2/3 of these things to make it worthwhile imo.

btw, not sure if it's a bug but the fire knights armor actually buffs the fire damage on the first part of the ash of war.
Literally impossible to pull some of these invasions off without item duping :( especially for perfume crafts. Could you make a video on how to make friends?
