I just listened to this sermon again. I just want to add that we must teach our girls and boys that it is acceptable to refuse to kiss or hug someone they don’t feel comfortable hugging or kissing. We must teach new cultural norms if we want to avoid Lot - not just survive him or her. This was a powerful sermon. Thank you.
Powerful, POWERFUL sermon and message. Everything Pastor Wesley stated is right. As men, we MUST stand up for our Black women and for all women who are sexually abused and mistreated! Just look at what some in Congress (men) are trying to DO regarding abortion rights and other important matters. They will not even allow WOMEN to have AUTONOMY OVER their OWN bodies! I think this was a great message when it comes to what was said concerning women, but not a good comparison to Lot's situation. Lot didn't have a Selfish motive when it came to his daughters, Lot knew the evil intentions of these men and he was willing to sacrifice his daughters to save Sodom and Gomorrah from being destroyed, similar to God sacrificing His son Jesus to save us.
The way I see it, lot stopped the men from being rapped, which was a sin. Now someone had to b used as a sacrifice , now didn’t god sacrifice Jesus so that we can live,
