"Hand wired"... Yeah, hand wired the pots to the circuit boards made in China. The tube sockets soldered direct to the circuit board. The 20 should be a $800 amp max. They are not comparable to hand wired boutique amps
I wouldnt buy these at all. Look at the gut shot of them. They have pcb mounted tubes and every other cheapo way of building that dont last. Unless you like hot tubes cooking your pcb, I wouldnt suggest. There are better options. In fact, an actual vintage gibson falcon from the 60's is like 1/3 the price. Youd even have room under the asking price for the new ones to get an old one fully serviced and working perfectly if it wasnt already.
@@Apeshoot13 thanks! We were just discussing a few minutes ago what would be preferable: the new Peavey Classic 20 which is made in China that is $1k or if this amp if it were point to point and $4k.
@@blueslawyer At least one of us in this country is still happy to be rocking a perfectly fine 1977 Peavey Pacer and a 2004 Marshall MG15DFX. Oh, and my 1947 Supro 6v6 lap steel amp. To each his own. Best of luck to you.
Holy cow, amp prices are nuts now. Some good things do come with age. Happy as pie I found my tones in my classic pre-Peavey Budda amps and cabs... yikes, 20 something years ago. I've tried many since, but always come back to the Buddas. Speaking of Peavey, someone should cover what's going on with Peavey who took over Budda a while ago now - as it seems Peavey has since discontinued the Budda line. Is that it for Budda amps then? Dunno. I wrote to Jeff Bober who founded Budda with another fella I can't recall his name, to see if he had any information to share, but no response.
Interesting. We will have to check that out. The last time I played a Buddha was in the studio in 2010 as part of my stacking of guitar parts, which included my Peavey Penta and a DSL 100. I remember we described that Buddha as "refined, with an edge of punk" but sometimes people just say stuff to describe tone.
Then, someone showed the inside of the new Gibson amp. Very disappointing.
What's up in the guts?
@@blueslawyer
It's a smallish printed circuit board, with tube sockets mounted directly to it. It looks like a $300 amp.
@@paulsto6516 interesting. Thanks for the info.
Brad the Guitologist exposed its pcb and hot glued interior.

That's the same idea of "hand wired" that we brought up in our Vertex Dr Special Amp... That one was $4k.
Has anyone opened these up and looked inside? These are garbage amps that should be sold for $400, but have $1,400 price tag. Oh Heck No!
I'm not sure exactly what the standard construction of amps are these days, but the $1k range is now seen as affordable :(

At least there's a case fan 😉

_"Who wants the new Gibson amps?"_ [looks around] Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
I am interested in seeing one in the wild
Finally Gibson sells a product for less than $2000 😄
🔥
Mesa amps are garbage. These new Gibson amps are mainly green pc board.
Many amp manufacturers use PCB designs: Marshall, Friedman, etc
No thanks for me
What're you playing through these days?
Gibson is very proud of its amps.
I would be too! Maybe one day I'll get a Falcon to put next to my "vintage" G10.
Priced Favorably?!!! For a tube mounted to PCB amp built worse than a Fender Blues Junior?!!! You truly are a lawyer. Your future looks bright.
That's what tube amps cost these days.
@@blueslawyer Thanks for the update from your ivory tower. I'm good. Discernment is a virtuous skill. My reading on you is 5x5. I'm quite alright.
