It's bloody cool that Peter Mayhew uses a lightsaber as a walking stick
Thomas Stevens rip
Thomas Stevens agreed...sad that he’s no longer with us, RIP Peter Mathew you will be missed.
The way Dave talks about anakin and ahsokas relationship and the arc they've gone through at the end of this is just spot on. You can see the tears in his eyes and hear the passion in his voice. Dave is a man who GETS star wars. He understands it to his very core and he loves it. This man GETS it
While for me they aren't my favourite episodes, that ending for me, is where Ahsoka emotionally surpasses Anakin, and is why she will eventually become the 'fearless Jedi' as Filoni puts it, and Anakin falls.
@@shugaroony totally. This arc is one of a few formative experiences that give her the confidence to survive without the Jedi order, without her lightsabers, and without Anakin.
@@saragolightly Yes, its an important lesson for her, one that Kanan also brings up with Ezra in Rebels. Lightsabres are supposed to be defensive weapons, only to ever be used as a last resort, when Jedi can't find another way to solve a serious issue. Here Ahsoka finds that belief in herself, helped by Anakin's training, to return from peril and bring out the best in others, without using her own sabres.
YES!!! Dave Is The Chosen One!!!
Filoni is close to tears in the end of the video :) !
I know I'm 4 years late replying to this comment. I feel as though he's seeing it from a fans perspective of loving these characters, loving the back and forth and relationship of Ahsoka and Anakin, and like us, it's breaking his heart that Ahsoka and Anakin don't get a happy ending with friendship and love.
That was the moment where i fought: Pleaseeeee give this guy his own movie. Nobody have more love and is more into character dynamics than Filoni.
@@torgiwankenobi1155 He already did his own movie. It's called the Clone Wars movie.
Something to think about too is that her fate probably wasn't decided yet. Filoni didn't know yet where Ahsoka would end up so he is in fact reacting as a fan of the characters would
Exactly why he is as great as he is, because he CARES.
these shows were amazing. it almost breaks my heart to hear that majority of the star wars community won't give it a chance because of its link to the prequels.
+Ian Crisp - Yeah, I've even heard people say that they won't watch it because it's a kiddy show - they couldn't be more wrong! The Clone Wars Animated Series is some of my favorite Star Wars ever! So dark, thrilling, deep, and they have more time to tell their stories. To bad they couldn't have done Rebels the same way.. but I like that too.
In some cases, it's even better than the prequals. I love the the Clone wars Era.
Agreed... and I'm even one whom really likes the prequels! I do!
But I still find that the Clone Wars animated show is some of my favorite Star Wars ever. Anakin being the Hero that we imagine him to be, all while seeing him slip to the Dark Side. Obi Wan being a major threat to the opposition... he's amazing! Ahsoka... man... I really like Ahsoka. She's one heck of a formidable warrior!
I love Clone Wars, but it will never be able to redeem the prequels. Which is a shame because there's actually good stuff to be found in Clone Wars. I really hope the prequels are one day remade by Disney.
What breaks my heart more is how a lot of people don't give George and the prequels a chance. Most of the haters haven't legitimately examined the films in any meaningful way and come up with their own conclusions, but instead just jump on the trendy hate bandwagon. It's sad.
It really felt like Peter was playing him in this episode, just as he taught every mannerism to Joonas. An amazing teacher and an even better person. RIP.
I met Peter Mayhew at star wars celebration 2010 when I way a lot younger. He was the sweetest man and really embodied the best parts of star wars. Rest in Peace absolute legend, and may the “Fur-ce” be with you!
RIP
What I loved about this arc is that it's pretty much the Star Wars equivalent of "The Most Dangerous Game", one of my personal favorite short stories.
Adieu Mr. Rainsford.
Hearing the crew talk about their breakthroughs, especially on the animation, is really cool.
“It’s gonna be exciting to the finish, I can guarantee that!”
...yes it was! It truly was!! Thank you Dave for season 7, and the Clone Wars series in general!
Oh cool! 15:28 that Trando has one of the energy shotguns that, well the Trandos had in Republic Commando, right down to the sound
Always loved that tiny detail, it gave me shivers when i first saw it (too bad we didnt get to see double knife weilders with weird gas masks)
That's a vanguard shotgun from Battlefront II that is
Yeah
@@capkhi5070 I always remeber when it was the acp array gun
Mandalorian crusader helmet! KOTOR
Hearing Dave talk about Anakin and Ahsoka's Relationship at the end there was so Emotional. You can really tell that This Man Understands Star Wars.
He is The Chosen One. Thank You, Dave for This Absolutely Masterful Show.
When Chewie let out that howl after Asohka identified his specie, I was like, "CHEWIE!" It also made me think, "Those stinkin' lizards are in trouble NOW!"
The detail of the jungle in this episode arc is AMAZING.
One of my top two or three favorites. 👍😂
R.I.P. Peter Mayhew
This show was so good that we didn't deserve it anymore.
This people bring Star Wars to life.
Thank you George and Dave, and all of the team behind the series.
Rest in peace, Peter ❤️
The end gave me chills, i never seen that yoda little smile that way. I love you Dave
Rest in Peace, Peter
Holy crap! That whole talk Dave Filoni gave at the end about attachments, I never thought of this episode that way. That's brilliant!
Yep, that was the arc for me where I felt Ahsoka emotionally surpassed her master, and became the 'fearless Jedi', whilst Anakin would go on to fall.
Chewbacca's the key to all of this
Wow I really teared up with the Peter Mayhew segment. Seeing the immense respect all these people had for him and his character and being glad that they got to do this with him before his death, just got to me idk
And that is why Force Awakens, Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker will fade away, while Clone Wars will be cherished for a long time.
Peter Mayhew was such a good man. It's heartening to see that he was treated so well by these folks because he deserved it.
I love these featurettes. We learn how things we wouldn't thing twice about required so much work and creativity to do
i love how passionate these people are in their work
The amount of thought and dedication in this show is incredible! From flying dust particles, to the planet land scape all the way to the story, it truly shows the love Dave and George had towards Starwars and the fans!
RIP Peter Mayhew
One of the reasons why I love this arc so much is that it reminds me of the movie Predators. I wonder if it was coincidental or if they took inspiration from that movie. They do have similar concepts.
In the Umbara arc featurette, Filoni mentions it being an inspiration
It goes back even further to a short story. The most dangerous game.
I love that ending with Yoda looking at Anakin and Ahsoka and smiling. Showing that Anakin did have a family in the Jedi, and they were leading him down the right path. It was just that evil brilliant bastard Palpatine that so intricately messed everything up.
I know that shot and wondered why no one talked about it.
It was cool tease like thing in the end by yoda.
7:14 “Shattered” Reference all these years prior to Season 7, Episode 11... #CLONEWARSENDS

WHOA WHOA WHOA. MAJOR SPOILER.
Indeed it was :)
How?
I love how Dave looks at ashoka like his baby. That's how I know the ashoka show is gunna be dope
This episode was so cool, I‘ve seen it 4 times already and I feel like you just don’t get tired of it
Are Filoni’s eyes watering during his description of the final scene? Mine are. Thanks for saving the galaxy, Dave!
There was a series of Alley Oop comic strips dealing with hunters who used flying platform to hunt people who lived in a misty region. This is from about 1988 or 89 maybe. These episodes reminded me of that.
its back and finished the right way,, im sure many many people are rewatching and watching for the first time
This arc had some of the most beautiful shots
love these videos man , keep it up!!!!
Man I really wish they'd do this stuff for Rebels, that show seemed very simple animated sometimes and sorta lost the emotional impact from clone wars
I know I'm replying to a 4 year old comment, but I disagree; the space battles in Rebels especially were fantastic, and every Rebel ship shot down was gut-wrenching for me; and the ship explosions were better than here.
Agreed, the Clone Wars Arcs definitely show a lot more of an emotional story for so many characters, Anakin, Padme, Obi-wan, Ahsoka, Rex, and Maul. I kind of wish Dave Filoni and his team finished the Yoda & Bad Batch go to Kashhyykk Arc for Clone Wars Season 7. Everything from the unfinsihed arc: the jungle environments for Kashhyykk, Kinraths from Knights of the Old Republic, Giant Monkey creatures the Bad Batch ride on, Chewbaca, Tarful & the other Wookies, and the Trandoshan Separatist would look absolutely amazing just like this Season 3 Finale with Ahsoka.
@@brandontran5316 And yet for me, I found Rebels to be more emotional. We may still get some of these unfinished stories told in a rehashed form in Bad Batch though.
I think the emotions in Rebels were very much there, but the team went through a ton of budget cuts so it's not as cinematic. Overall it's a very different show - the found family, having to establish all new characters - but I think Rebels pulls it off well. The arc with Sabine and the Darksaber, Kanan's death, and Ezra's exit are all so emotional.
Is that Filoni without a hat?
Dave gets it
I wish I knew what sounds they used for the Trandoshans.
great show with a great ending
They didn't mention it, but they had clear inspiration from Republic Commando with the weapon design.

"It's gonna be exciting 'til the finish"
Yeah, too bad you never got to actually finish it
@@luckylogan12345 yeah...partially
Here in 2020 the finish was pretty good
Rest In Peace Peter Mayhew. You were a joy to millions and you will be missed.
2:18 You mean "Chewie to the C!!" hahahaha
RIP Peter Mayhew, a true icon
"Apart of me" Giggity
Seeing Peter Mayhew made me emotional.
I remember when this arc was being promoted on Cartoon Network, and when Chewie was revealed I was like "oh Hell yeah!"
Chewbacca took care of me while my parents (Han and Leia) were away for galactic afairs. Espeically, when I was a kid. (Jacen Ben Solo)
Chewy making a cameo was amazing but the real highlight was ahsokas journey through everything that happens to her in these episodes. Her character shines the best in these episodes
12:21 so the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders are in the Clone Wars which is a part of Disney canon and this the Neo-Crusaders themselves are also canon
Filoni knows what's going to happen with Anakin. He has gone back and forth with that story, and he still gets sad when he says 'Anakin's gonna become Vader'. boy, that's a joy to see, how he LIVES the story
This is fucking amazing...
The stories in the clone Wars cartoons is some of the best stories in Star Wars
RIP Fuzzball...
R.I.P Peter Mayhew.
Amazing
I always found it really cowardly that the trandoshans just kidnapped a bunch of padawans instead of having the balls to go for a master.
Then promptly falling victim to their hubris and being decapitated
FILONI, IF YOU KILL AHSOKA IN REBELS I SWEAR TO YODA!
If TFA can SPOILER
Kill Han Solo, then Filoni will kill off Ashoka!
Well Harrison have wanted to get out since episode 5, so that is mostly the reason.
+The Milling but if rebels wants to pick up their game, then killing off a significant character can raise the stakes. Having said that if Ashoka does die, I will be sad!
I hope Vader kills her.
+MrSheed92 Kill Ezra, not Ashoka. If the got rid of him, the whole show would be elevated
I'm happy that they used the shotguns from Republic Commando in this episode
The 4 dislikes on this are just b1 battle
droids
RIP peter
Love Boosk
I’d bet if Star Wars Rebels was around during this series. One of those padawans would’ve been Kanan.
That story with the mandalorian would be cool too. Have it be like the story “most dangerous game”
Tath scene where Han and Chewbaka sitting in the cantina and Chewie does tath little side glare aways comes to my mind whit him.
Joel Aron is giving me crazy asmr
They hunted gungans? Wow! Everyone wishes it was a certain gungan. Also a zilo beast, how in the galaxy did they kill that?
+shooter downunder Given the trouble the Republic had taking down the one they caught...I wanna say sheer luck.
+johntheechidna1 probably a really old prize from thousands of years ago using gas weapon's
Why did chancellor even ask the doctor to clone the beast after they killed it and what would it be used for
@@isuarez6935 No idea why he would clone one, but the scales can resist strikes from lightsabers and would be valuable armour like Mandalorian Iron.
My question is how did ahsoka get her lightsabers back
I miss Peter!
Rip Peter Mayhew
RIP Peter.
Peter's cane is a lightsaber
What was the decision of bringing in 3 lost Padawans
Chewie looks skinny on the clone wars series
Martin Anthonyo he was probably a bit starved and also younger so it's possible...or maybe they made a small mistake
Martin Anthonyo or its an animated stylistic choice, everyone is a little thinner looking in the show
He looks great
Rebels fucked up wookiees it is so sad
Well he wasnt slaved by the empire yet
@@TeemoForLife The wookies on rebels looked so bad! But I get it they didn't have the money
Awwww no citadel ?
+Mael Radec Unfortunately not. Seasons two, three and four haven't got featurettes for every episode. However season five does.
Well atleast there are republic commando refrences
Does anyone know the music that plays from 16:44?
Man what did star wars rebels a bad job on Chewbacca
MrB's yes
MrB's chewbacca isnt in rebels.
tylerman39 But the wookies appear, and they look like turds.
@@rinphod4442 I blame Disney. They kneecaped rebels with the budget and freedom.
@@elijahblechman8633 And despite it, in the main Rebels looked great. They did the best with the funds they were given.
Just show ppl these features and they will know that clone wars was handled by ppl who love Star Wars
RIP

1:25 Back when Lucas Film still Cared. Man what a road all of this shit has turned into. A broken Fan base and everything that came with it.
The fandom's been broken since 1997. Don't kid yourself. Everyone working on Star Wars now was a fan, but the beautiful and terrible thing is that Star Wars means something different to everyone. There isn't one unified vision.
5:00 "that's a man, baby!!!!"
Now compare this beautiful looking wookie to the wookies from Rebels which look disgusting.
RIP Peter Mayhew
