Here on the East Coast of Scotland its been regular howling winds. Know that wind sound well. Good advice on less club downwind to leave it in regular drive position tho hard to resist belting it into normally unreachable position :) Have a good 2019
These are really good thoughts for people who play in areas that tend to have lots of wind. I particularly enjoyed the views of the course and surrounding landscape, in addition to the music. Close your eyes and it feels like the golf scene from Braveheart!
ASwing versus Eureeka. I have toyed with ASwing with its recommended closed stance unlike Eureeka. Your ideas intrigue me. I hit my wedges sweet from the open stance. Would love to see you compare Eureeka against ASwing. Your channel is great. More course blogs please.
Looks like the "eureka" swing is working well. Self talk probably works better than yelling at the ball, think I'll try it. Great video as always, thanks Steve.
Steve I have a eureka question. Your divots appear to be straight down the target line instead of out to the right and you ball flight appears straight. When I swing out to the left(left handed) I hit usually a big draw to a hook. Am I just swinging out to far? I use the grip as my references. Thanks for the videos they have changed the way I approach golf.
Divot is straight cause face is open at impact and then square at the point of separation. The divots should also be shallow as the angle of attack is shallower due to path being in-to-out. Sounds like you are over-doing the in-to-out path. Let the clubbed pass the hands and allow the clubhead to spin out away from the body, the last thing you want to do is guide the hands from in-to-out.
It's really interesting how your expectations changed from into to down wind. Every hole you had a birdie putt, into the wind you were happy to 2 putt par and move on. Downwind you started to beat yourself up a bit for not making the birdie. Ok they may have been shorter putts but it was still blowing a hooly making shot choice difficult, greens weren't as pure as they would be normally. What would be a good score in a competition on a day like that? Not a criticism at all, would just love to hear your thoughts on the mental side of the game and if you ever think about how expectations can effect your game. Great video and personally I liked the music!
Into the wind I'm hitting longer clubs so my mind set is a par with longer shots than normal is great and a birdie is a bonus. Down wind I was hitting very short clubs to cover my normal yardages therefor was putting the ball closer than on a calm day so missing those opportunities that are closer than in calm conditions was a tad annoying. The big picture though on days like that is 18 pars all day long. Birdies downwind can give a bit of breathing space for holes later in the round that are tough back into the wind.
I love the music Steve, and your 🏴 accent. Realy authentic! Discovered the golfing machine in 2018 which led me to you when you had 6K subscribers. TGM and Steve Johnston’s FREE UA-cam channel made me understand previously consumed books and video’s better as well. Keep doing what you do Steve. My handicap just turned 18 and is trending down 🏌🏽♂️
Excellent vlog Steve
Thanks David. A bit cold though!!!
@@stevejohnstongolf once it's dry, no excuse lol. We have the same here in Ireland. Improves ability & skill level 👍
What beautiful scenery around that course. Looked cold and windy but worth it. Thanks Steve!
Thanks Robert. It was chilly!
Excellent video all the best for Hogmanay
Great advice again, Trevino quote, "when it's breezy swing it easy "

Good few tips for the winter / wind . Would love a similar one on wedge flights

Steve, new bats ? Nice video.
i210, thanks
Got to say your course management is spot on,it might be some of the best scenery in Scotland, but I'm here for the golf
Thanks Michael
Steve, Good video. Could you do a similar one for crosswinds please?
Great idea Jim. Leave that with me.

Thanks Ken.
Mr. Watson said when winning his 5 Opens, take 2 to 3 clubs more and chip the ball around. Great tip I play on the South West Coast of Ireland.
Short straight lines always win in the wind Donnacha!
5:27 music, "Violet" by Jincheng Zhang is a nice touch. Your interests more varied than most golfers. Nice video and strategy for the wind. Thanks.
Steve, good video query do you not fill divots to help course maintenance?? Thanks keep up good content Garrett
I love the football (American) putter head over. Who’s your team?
Not got a team, just enjoy watching it.
Good topical advice. It’s blowing a hooly here as well Watched it a second time just for the scenery.
Thanks Douglas
Wind is always a challenge for me, but it can be managed. Wind and rain? I'll see you in the clubhouse!! LOL
I can't wait for my next 'math play' in our typical desert wind when I can say; your down wind, let the big dog out! Thanks Steve, much appreciated.
Wind them up Greg

All common sense Steve, if you keep giving yourself opportunities the ball will eventually drop.
Going to remember your up-wind match play advice... "Yeah man! Let the big dog eat! You'll make the green..."
PERFECT ROY
Enjoyed the video but please loose the annoying music
Mmmm, and I was enjoying that.
@@JDSFLA I like it also.
