BTW you can make kedang
koplo sound much better if you 1.) close the bottom of the bass drum so its vakuum inside 2.) Do the same with the small one, but here you need to raise the bottom by adding a second bottom, about 1 third from the actual bottom. If you do this you will have trade tabla sound. If you don't do this, the Tun sound will sound off tune.
That's why its difficult to tune kedang koplo. You can use thin plywood pieces to create the bottom floors.

In south India, say Chennai, they use jackfruit wood ,In bengal we use Sishu or Mehgoni....what is the difference apart from life of the wood.

I ordered online to TablaSitar online. My tabla set is the copper Bayan Ganesh gold. The tabla I asked was C# but actually it is in D. But it is fine as I just start to learn and I do not play in a group so D is ok. Quality is very good to me. I'm new to tabla but I'm playing violin too in a music school and I can see the quality of instruments I think. Once tuned it remains in tune for quite long. Tabla and Bayan have very nice sustain. Bayan have deep sound in bass and Dayan crisp and clean high notes. My concern will be in the future how to rehead with new skins. In my country tabla are not common and known instrument. In my village and around I'm alone to play this, other players discovered this nice percussion. Greetings from France.

Basically rice paste is used for more lasting of the tabla karanai but nowadays more than 40% of tabla makers use fevicol but it's not good rice paste is best........

@ 6:51 I know why he is grinning here, he is deliberately showing it wrong, so anyone who tries this will fail after a full days work.
Before the iron/ rice paste is applied on the skin, the must be circular spot with glue, and that will hold the whole gab. It needs to rough, applied with the fingertip just by tipping motion. And that needs to dry in the sun. After comes the first layer of the iron powder- rice mix....If you omit the glue part, the whole gab will come off. Different types of glues are used, incl. wheat glue, rice glue, fevicol and other hide glues.
