Great video. I'm just here because you have more Ford stuff.... hahaha. Great points on the adhesive. I use to be 'that guy' (squirt n stick) but later realized it works much better in the 2 or 3 step process. I recently did a trunk lid seal on a '55 Fairlane, and they are not short, and all glue-on. Let me tell you, trying to wrangle that thing....quickly.... and not accidentally have it touch the 3rd application or anything else, where it shouldn't, proved to be a real chore. you doing it in sections might be the ticket. (Looked like I had an anaconda wrapped around me in the process...lol) If 3M could slow the dry time just a touch and have it in a can with a application ball, I'd be as happy as a pig in 💩! great job, man!
Thanks for the watch and the comment! Man that would be a challenge, I have to do the trunk seal on the Mustang, but I got the nice 3M black, because it’s just nicer to work with…still a pain though
It's funny how so many people don't take the time to use weather stripping adhesive properly, I think it's just being in too much of a hurry. Great video Brent.
Great video. Lots of information that can be applied to any car I suspect. Contact cement products take patience and I'm seeing les and less of that these days. And the door handles look really good. Thanks for sharing this. Be safe and stay well.
I'm restoring a '69 for a 75yr old lady who bought hers brand new in '69. I'm working on the same latch at spot 6:30 and I see a thick "wire" near the top of the latch that is wound (left side of picture) around a stud looking thing and it then goes completely straight across the unit to the other side Her passenger side latch is missing that piece and I can't seem to find a new replacement for it. What is it and what does it do and where can I find one? Thanks in advance.
From your description I believe you are describing the spring for the door lock. It keeps the door lock up so it doesn’t just fall and lock the door. Not sure if you can procure it separately, but CJ Pony Parts have the complete latch for around $60 I believe.
There are two springs if I recall, one is the door lock and the other is to trip the latch closed. Some of them will have a white stripe inside the spring that doesn’t attach to anything…this is an anti-rattle device. Hope that helps.
@@MongrelsGarage Thanks for responding. If you look at spot 6:30 on your vid, you'll see the wire (spring looking thing?) I'm talking about. It's thicker than the other spring and goes left to right across the mechanism horozontaly right in front of the unit.
Nice work brotha!!! Great video!!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOM BABY!
Thanks buddy!
Awesome angles brotha - really killer job!
I do what I can…lol
Yeah great job on the how 2 . Any time that I've done door seals I have never taken the time to do it right.
Thank you, maybe the door seal are not perfect...but you can sure do some fantastic and creative wood work!

Thanks Glen, I still need to refine my own techniques with it, but getting a little better all the time.

Oh believe me if I had the option I would have you do it. I know how well you can bring chrome back to life...that blower turned out awesome!
aahh Thanks Mongrels, I tried to on it.. that thing was a little beat up
Can the door latch be replaced with window in place? Great video and instructions. Thank You!!
Yes, you should be able to take the latch out with the window in place

Like most videos you never show the award bit ie.the bottom track the rest is easy. Other wise reasonable video.
Seems a wee bit late... Lol :😜
Oh, you know what they say…better late than never 🤪. I’ve got enough stuff creeping up on never😅
