Last playoff win for the Athletics until 2020.

The A's first postseason series win since the 1990 ALCS.

What a comeback by the Twins to take the division on the last day. I can’t believe how quickly it ended for them. My Tigers turned some heads this year, and going to October, but boy they stubbed their toe these last few weeks. They choked away the division. And they’re gonna play the big bad Yankees

Had the Tigers collapsed and not made the postseason, it would not have been one of the greatest regular season collapses ever, since they were 10 games up on the Twins and WSOX after August 07, and there have been much bigger collapses in MLB history
But oh man, it would have just fit perfectly with Tigers baseball “misery” since the start of the 1994 season had they miss the postseason.
Although on paper, the Twins had a slightly better team than the Tigers in 2006. And on paper, I thought the WSOX also had a better team than the Tigers.
And I aways love seeing Division rivals face in the LCS, so sadly, no Twins-Tigers in the 2006 ALCS and no rematch of the 1987 ALCS. I guess we gotta wait for game 163 in 2009 for the the AL Central

And i have been looking everywhere for the Tigers final 3 games of the 2006 season when they got 3 game swept in Detroit against the 100 loss Royals

This was the first of just TWO playoff series wins for the A’s since 1990 (the other happening in that weird and flukey 2020 season)

Athletics-Twins in a rematch of the 2002 Division Series.
The 2006 Athletics “upset” the 2006 Twins, just like the 2002 Twins “upset” the 2002 Athletics.
I just cannot believe that the Twins got swept, especially after winning the Division and homefield in the first round on game 162.
I still consider the 2006 Twins to be the greatest Twins team of all time, so the fact that they got swept, its just wow

The most embarrassing of all the Twins postseason failures. That team should have rolled to the world series.

Maybe perhaps the greatest Twins team of all time

The MoneyBall Oakland Athletics have finally won a postseason series.
The Athletics have FINALLY broken their “Division Series Curse”

Talk about an incredible dejavu = In game 2 at the Metrodome, the Athletics hit an inside the park home run to center field off Tori Hunter.
I say dejavu, because in game 3 of the 2002 NLDS in Minnesota between Athletics-Twins, the Athletics also hit an inside the park home run to CenterField off Tori Hunter.
    WOW

It was Ray Durham who had the IPHR in 2002.

@@cdelano81 although i would have ruled the 2002 one a single and an error, and not an inside the park home run

This was Brad Radke final MLB season.
He played 12 seasons, all with the Twins.
Brad Radke even won 20 games in a season for the Twins, back in 1997. The 1997 Twins lost almost 100 games BTW. Given, he had a respectable but not impressive 3.87 ERA in 1997.
I mean, how does someone, with an ERA of 3.87 and a team that lost almost 100 games, wins 20 games in a season. THATS JUST UNREAL.

I went to a lot of the A’s game that year. This 06 team would have been able to beat the 02 team. 00 and 01 I think it’s a toss up
